Chapter 4: CEO
"Mr. Stark, Williams on line 3." Bella tapped the button transferring the call through. She then went around shuffling papers and helping Pepper schedule meetings and appointments. Pepper Potts was an interesting woman. She had strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. She was a tad bit taller than Bella and had a balance in high heels that was impeccable.
"Bella, I have a conference meeting in a few hours. I was wondering if you can travel with Happy and Tony to a meeting?" Bella looked up from he paperwork. "Me? Am I able to do that?" A meeting? Bella didn't think she was ready, after all she's been with Stark Enterprise for the last two weeks and Pepper, who was CEO was the only one knowledgeable with that of Tony's information.
"Yes, I think so, you and Tony work well. You've been shadowing me. You can do this." Pepper smiled at her doing her best to reassure Bella that she could handle this. Pepper was trying to play matchmaker. Bella had something that Tony needed. Pepper could give him stability, but Bella could do more. She looked liked she could ground him and have him settle down. She knew the risks as she experienced it as well, but she'd be dammed if something ever happened to Bella. Tony needed happiness for once in his life.
Tony hadn't seen anything as beautiful as Bella. She wasn't wearing anything revealing, but the black dress suit fit her like a glove. Her hair was styled in a way that it left half of it down and the other half in a neat bun. She had on a pair of glasses that made her look like a sexy librarian. Tony shook his head and reminded himself it couldn't be like that. Ever.
Happy was standing beside Tony with a light smile. "Miss Swan. You look beautiful. Doesn't she Tony?" Tony sent his friend a slight glare but a smile towards Bella. "That she does." Bella blushed a bright red. "Oh hush, you're just saying the because I work with you." Tony laughed and said, "Nonsense! It's true. C'mon." After getting in the car Tony gave Bella a rundown of what the meeting was to be centered around. "You've got this. There's a special surprise for you tonight and I want you to enjoy it." Bella shook her head furiously. "Mr. Stark no! That's not necessary." Tony gave her a pointed look. "Please?" Giving her what he considers his puppy dog eyes, Bella laughed and caved. "Only because you looked pathetic." A round of laughter started but soon they were sobering up as they pulled into this courthouse.
Bella grabbed the stack of paper the mayor tried handing to Tony. "He doesn't like anything handed to him." "Well just who in the hell are you? Let Miss Potts go already?" He asked with a snarky remark. Bella interrupted before Tony could respond. "Miss Potts whereabouts is none of your concern. I am here and can do the job just as well. May we proceed please?" Tony looked at Bella with pride. He made the right decision after all. Hours later the two came out surrounded by flashing cameras and loud voices. "Mr stark, is it true about the big machine..! "Tell us about your new..!" Happy ushered them both into the car and they climbed in quickly as Happy rushed around to the drivers side. They sped down the highway and was home within the hour. Tony led Bella up to his suite and covered her eyes. "Mr. Stark?" She put her hands on top of his. "Call me Tony Bella." Opening the door, a chorus of "Congratulations!" filtered throughout the room.
Tony stepped away from Bella removing his hands. Bella couldn't believe the sight. A big banner in bold letter read: CEO . Bella wasn't sure what surprised her more. The position or The Avengers standing in front of her eyes.
