Lily's POV

Since passing through the gate when Reena brought me back I had the ability to pass through to the other side at will. I knew that several years ago she had died after she traveled to the time she left that world as a younger girl than she had left and it had caused complications with her child but I had hoped that she would live.

I stood in front of the gate once again to see my niece. Lea and I had become close over time and I visited once or twice a month. I walked through the gate and landed outside the order. I smiled when I heard a familiar voice shouting something. Lea came around the corner dragging someone who I thought died eleven years ago, my older sister and Lea's mother, Reena. She let go and gave me a hug, "Auntie! You're back!" I saw Reena smile softly from behind her before spinning as her eye activated I braced myself for the akuma that were bound to show up. I saw her blade appear in her hand from an innocence bracelet and she ran forward, much like she always had back in Amestris. I watched as she ran and explosions followed her. Before I knew what was happening, a soft melody came from beside me. I looked over and saw Lea holding a flute. I looked at the akuma and saw Reena attacking while others exploded rapidly in sync with the rhythm.

The akuma were soon wiped out and Reena stood in the center of the piles of dust covered in akuma poison. Her silver hair was turned red with blood and she looked like a monster. I looked closer and saw a disturbing sight, her right arm was blown off and bleeding rapidly. She fell to the ground and Lea ran forward to her. I followed closely and picked her up. Lea was in tears and I was scared shitless. The amount of blood she had lost would soon be fatal.

I ran and realized something, her arm was gone before and now it was gone again, "Lea, get Kanda!" She looked at her mother but did as I said. I picked up my sister and ran as fast as humanly possible towards the order and more specifically the infirmary.

Reena's POV

I woke up in the infirmary my shoulder throbbing. I looked at the white tile of the ceiling before I heard voices from the other side of the curtain, "You're a rotten father you know that Kanda! You didn't speak to me or even look at me until she came back!"

Lea paused and I heard Yuu quietly spoke, "I'm sorry, I was trying to keep you from this war as long as I could…"

I heard her start to sob and I managed to stand, the hospital gown falling loosely over my shoulder. The fact my arm was gone dully registered before I stumbled to the curtain and threw it open, "Will you two knock it off!? You're in the infirmary not the training arena! Fight somewhere else!" They both looked shocked as I stood there. With my one arm I pushed them both from the infirmary before the nurse caught me.

I sat on the bed as the nurse changed my bandages, "She is really upset with him, isn't she?" I looked at my feet as she applied the ointment to me shoulder, I grimaced as the ointment caused shooting pains though my nerves though not nearly as bad as they were when I had first gotten my automail. The nurse didn't say anything just bandaged my shoulder before I realized I would need my automail back, the only way I could help win this war was with automail. I looked up and asked about it.

"Komui can build it and do the surgery if you would like?" She applied some pressure to my shoulder and I grimaced again. I nodded and told her I would get automail, to protect my daughter and humanity, regardless of my fear of Komui.

About six weeks later found me writhing in pain, the automail was being connected to my nerves. I held back screams as the nerves connected. As soon as the surgery was over darkness engulfed me and I passed out.

Lily's POV

I stood outside waiting to know if she was alright. Komui left the room and told me she was unconscious. I sighed in relief as he left, my sister would be fine, I hoped…

About five minutes after he left Lea came by to see if Reena was alright. I nodded and she sat down, "Why didn't my father talk to me until she came back?" I heard her whisper from beside me. I looked at her as she looked at the floor, "I mean he had plenty of chances…"

I looked towards the door and answered, "Knowing your father it was to protect you," She looked at me surprised, "When you were a baby the old headquarters was destroyed in a fire and it was him that went into the burning building to save you," She looked even more surprised as I continued, "He always protected you while trying not to involve you in this war. He really cares, you just need to let him." She looked at the floor and smiled as we waited for her mother to wake up…
