Story of Penelope Halliwell

Chapter Four

"I'm happy that you can defeat your first demon by yourself," said Cole as he gave Penny a hesitant smile. Penny was breathing rather hard but she still had a smile on her face, and felt the adrenaline running through her veins. She was happy that she defeated her first demon without her aunts giving her instruction or being near her just in case if anything happened to her.

"I don't think it's a good idea to tell them about this demon," said Penny as she awkwardly moved one foot to the other while standing in place.

"Why?" asked Cole with a frown on his recently shaved face. He wanted to know why she didn't want to tell them about her recent demon attack. He knew that she was still going to be endangering from other demons that are out to get her. He knew that they wanted something from her and they won't stop until they got her alive or dead.

"I am not going to be around that much longer since I'm going to a boarding school in England. I don't want them to worry about me, when I'm in a different continent, so they can worry more for Wyatt safety since he is still an infant. I can take care of myself. I think I just proved myself several minutes ago." said Penny as she had her hands on her hips. She hoped that he would keep this recent demon attack to himself. She knew her aunts were quite busy with their jobs, witchcraft, and taking care of the youngest member of the family.

"Do you know that I really hate keeping secrets from Phoebe?" Said Cole, as he ran his hand through his short black hair. He, then, pulled on his tie loosing it up around his neck. "I really hate keeping this a secret. But I will. Although, you're going to have to tell them sooner or later since there are your guardians. There still you're aunts, and will still worry about you whether you're in England or living in their house. It comes with the response ability with raising a child. "

"I know," said Penny she let out a deep breath she was holding. She was happy that he was going to keep her secret a bit long, just to make her happy, even at the cost of her safety.

"Why don't we just go back to the house," said Cole, eyeing the alleyway with disgust. He also knew that there was a chance that another demon could try and sneak up on them. He knew that keeping her secret was going to get him in trouble one day with his wife. "I think you had enough excitement for one day."

"You're right," said Penny grabbing her purse from where she was sitting on the ground before she set the demon on fire. She grabbed out her brush and some make-up wipes. She fixed her hair and her make up so her aunts don't think something happened to her. She didn't want them to ask any questions on her appearance that will lead to the demon attack.

Once she was done, Cole took her hand and they shimmered back to manner. Once they landed in the living room they noticed that it was trashed. The couches are flipped over, and the pillows were missing there stuffing, papers were lying all over the floor. Flowerpots were smashed, and dirt and flowers are everywhere. It looked like someone ransacked the living room looking for somebody or there was another possible demon attack.

"What happened in here?" asked Penny, as her eyes roamed around the room. She noticed that her aunts weren't in the room when she and Cole shimmered in. She just hoped that one of her aunts or cousin wasn't hurt, even if they were Leo would be able to heal them.

"Another demon attack," said Piper as she walked into the room with a fussy Wyatt in her arms and a broom in her other hand. She had a frown on her face as she watched her son. "We think there after Wyatt again. Two lower-level demons attacked us fifteen minutes ago. They didn't hurt us or Wyatt. "

Cole gave Penny a look, as she shook her head slightly. She knew it was going to be useless to tell them that the demons were after her, and not her six month old cousin. There were always demons after Wyatt since he was born, but there were never any really after her including when she was born. It wouldn't make a difference if Penny mentioned it to her aunts or not.

"Oh," said Penny, as her other aunts walked into the living room. Both were carrying garbage bags, buckets, and brooms while wearing disgusting yellow gloves on their hands. This isn't the first time or the last time we have to clean up a mess created by demons. It also costs my aunts some money a month to replace some pieces of furniture. They even tried to buy plastic furniture to see if it would be cheaper to buy, and would have a longer life then china or ceramic. Sometimes, Penny always wondered why they keep buying useless junk when it keeps breaking.

"Your home," said Phoebe, smiling at her niece. She was happy that Penny wasn't in the house while the demon attacked. She didn't want her niece to witness any of these attacks before she had to leave for the Boarding School. She didn't want her to be worried about their safety while she was away from her family.

"Yes," said Penny to her aunt. She was exhausted.

"How was work?" asked Paige, as she opened up a black bag and started chucking some large pieces of a ceramic flower pot into the bag. Piper was sweeping up some of the smaller pieces of glass, while Phoebe was cleaning up the stuffing from the decretive pillows that were sounding the floor.

"I got fired," said Penny, as she placed her purse down on the coffee table and grabbed the broom that Phoebe brought into the room, and started sweeping up some of the smaller pieces of glass and dirt.

"Why?" asked Piper, as she looked over her shoulder to her niece?

"Some lame excuse that they were closing the shop or something like that," said Penny, not wanting to bring up the topic of the demon attacking her.

"Oh," said Paige. "Are you going to search for another job until you go to the boarding school?"

"No," said Penny. "Why should I get a job if I'm going to go to that boarding school in less than ten days?"

"Good point," said Phoebe. "So what are you going to do during the day?"

"I don't know," said Penny as she swept up a big pile of papers.

"You can help me take care of Wyatt," said Piper, shifting her son to the other hip. Even though it was his bed time, she didn't want to leave him upstairs by himself. Leo was currently talking to the elders about the increasing demon activity towards Wyatt. They were starting to get concerned that that never has a semi normal human life without a demon attacking every day.

"Yeah," said Penny, as she tried to sound as happy as possibly. She didn't want to spend the rest of her free days, before going to the boarding school, changing dirty diapers. She was a pro at sounding happy all the time. The life she was living wasn't the one that she was happy about. She wanted to know her parents, but she couldn't. Her mother was dead, and she wasn't able to even contact her spirit all the time. She has only see her once, and that was when Wyatt was being blessed the Halliwell line, something that she never had happen to her. Her father was a different situation all together. She didn't even know if he was still alive out there or if he had another family and didn't want her.

Leo orbed into the living room, as it was being cleaned. The Halliwell woman already cleaned fifty percent of the room when Leo orbed in. Cole was sitting on the couch holding Wyatt who fell asleep. Cole offered Piper to clean in her spot while she took care of she son, but she refused to let him leave the room until her husband came home. She didn't want to leave her son unprotected, even if he can protect himself.

"Did you find out why the demons are attacking us more now?" asked Piper, as she walked over to her husband, and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"They honestly don't know why there attacking so much," said Leo. "They are going to find out why they have been attacking us and let us know as soon as possible. They think that someone in the underworld has something planned. They just don't know how long that it will take them to get the information back to me. They want us to be careful. Something is tipping the balance of good and evil."

"I can always go to the underworld and find out any information," said Cole as he handed his son over to Piper.

"Be careful," said Phoebe, as she gave her husband a quick kiss on the lips.

Cole looked at Penny, to make sure that she was alright before he shimmered out of the manor. He was going to buy her some time, but he wasn't going to wait a while to tell the sister about Penny's recent attack, even if he has to break his promise towards Penny.

Leo looked over at Penny, "There's an elder that want to take Penny to the train station for her trip to the boarding school. Apparently, it won't be safe for the charmed ones or Wyatt."

"Why?" asked Paige. "If it's not safe for us then why is it safe for Penny?"

"There are some demons that can track white lighters," said Leo. "When elders orb there are less traces. They don't want any demons following Penny to the new school so they won't attack the students."

"That makes sense," said Phoebe.

"Yeah," mumbled Penny, as she sat down on the floor putting some big pieces into the trash bag.
