Recap: Cole once told Kai he wasn't leader material and now Kai gets to ask why he said that. Cole is now ready to face the truth even when his dreams haunt him.

"Hello Ninja." P.I.X.A.L said waving. Zane was beside her holding her other hand. They were at Ninjago beach having the best of times. All fighting and worries were gone , everyone got to relax and have fun with each other. Garmadon and Dareth snuck off somewhere to 'Talk', Jay and Nya played in the water splashing one another, Sensei Wu and Misako drank tea with Mistake, Lloyd was somewhere flying with Brad, so that left Kai and Cole alone.

Cole bathed in the hot sun, not that he wanted to. He looked over to Kai who was building a sandcastle."Hey can you like make it less hot here?" he asked the brunette. Kai nodded and with a flick of the wrist the sun was less bright. "Thank you." Cole said laying back down on his beach towel.

The earth ninja had went through some soul searching and found his real self. He didn't care what others thought of him and he found out he was a good leader, hell he was a great leader. He learned not to be so shy anymore and he had opened up to his friends more.

Kai looked around to see if anyone was watching him. He had been staring at Cole for minutes now and didnt want to seem like a freak. He had seen some change in the black wearing ninja. It was good change, he saw the boy being more open to the others yet shut him out at times.

"Cole, can we talk?"

"Hmm?" Cole sat up and looked at the brunette,"Yeah, sure what is it?"

Kai noticed how mellow Cole was now, he wasn't afraid to talk anymore."Its just why did you tell me you weren't leader material?" Cole froze he didn't think Kai remembers that it was years when he had said that.

Cole breathed in then out. He was going to tell all,"Well back then when I was chosen for leader I thought I wasn't good enough for you guys. I mean I was just Earth. I don't bend fire or shoot it from my hands like you do. I was pretty weak minded back then. Why do you ask now?"

"I never wanted to bring it up, you seemed to being getting out of your shell and I didnt want you to revert back." Kai answered fixing his sandcastle. "Now that everything is over I thought it would be nice to get the answer."

"Oh.." Cole said, he really didnt know what to do now. "Do you need help with your sandcastle?" he asked lamely. Kai shrugged then moved over so Cole could move beside him. The raven haired did so and started to reshape the castle.

"Why did you cry?" Kai asked nonchalantly placing more sand into the pale.

"What do you mean?" Cole was confused. Kai married his eyes at the pale, he didn't want to hear that. He was pretty sure Cole knew what he was talking about.

"I used to stay in the room right beside you. I could hear you cry beside your door almost every night." Kai turns his head to the left looking straight at Cole's face. Cole was scared, how much did Kai know. "I used to see your cut marks when you lifted your hand." Kai added watching Coles expression change.

"I told you...I was weak minded." Coles voice was breaking he felt like he was going to cry at any second. He kept his eyes on the sandcastle only not wanting to see Kais eyes.

"Did you know you talked in your sleep?"

Cole dropped the mini sand shovel,fear was present on his face. He turned to meet Kai's eyes. "No I didnt." he felt himself tear up. 'This cannot be happening.' his thoughts shouted at him.

"Yep, you did. You know, if you wanted my attention all you had to do was ask for it?" Kai stated leaning over rubbing the tears away from Coles cheeks. He leaned further and kissed the earth ninja with a passion one has to believe exist. "I love you too."

"W-what?" Cole asked but heard cheering instead. Everyone surrounded them cheering that they had finally got together. "What's going on?" he asked. Kai kissed him again.

"I love you." Kai repeated making Cole smile.

"Did you plan this?" the earth ninja asked, the brunette nodded."I didnt think you had a brain to plan anything." he giggled but sadness came again."You knew what I did to myself?"

"Yeah, I wanted to confess with you but I didnt want to have a relationship starting in the middle of chaos. I love you're flaws and all. I love you, Cole."

"I love you too, Kai."

They held each others hand and gave a quick kiss to the other."Now how bout our first date be in a volcano!" Kai exclaimed. Cole looked thoughtful for a moment. A volcano was good for fire and Earth elements plus they could have picnic there.

"Lets do it."

Nya walked over to her brother and hugged him tightly squealing like a fan girl. "OMG,I knew you guys would get together!" she ran back to Jay and whispered something in his ear.

Next was Zane to speak,"Well I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with each other." P.I.X.A.L nodded in agreement. "You did have some tensions separating you to and now they can be filled." the female robot added making Cole blush.

"Thank you." Cole thanked. This was more of a dream come true. Kai grabbed his chin to look at him, the brunette smashed their lips together in a kiss. "I love you." the brunette repeated.

"I love you too."
