The man clutched on to his nodachi tightly. The sun was already up and he hadn't even slept.
It was already enough he barley even slept in the safety of his sub. How was he supposed to catch a few z's when he had a freaking lion/snake/scorpion mutant lurking around the corner.
He glanced at the female next to him, She was curled up in a ball and sound asleep, She looked so small as the orange fabric warped around her. Sleeping like that should be considered a talent.
" "
He called her name, But she didn't wake up.
" "
He called again, But she didn't move.
"Keana!"
The woman jumped out of surprise. Her name was shouted by an un-famillaiar voice. She wasn't woken up by the cracked voice of a maid that she was used to. She looked at her side to see her captain.
"W-what?" She asked angrily. But her expressions soon turned into a flustered mess of mixed emotions.
"Shit buckets! I meant, Ah, Um, It's, I'm sorry!" She was quick to apologise much to the man's surprise. She always seemed to be uncomfortable while around him. His eyes squinted a little, As if thinking about it.
"Can i ask you a question, Ms. Oshiro?"
The woman stared at him for a few seconds, But nodded and sat down in front of him with intensity.
"Why are you always so tense around me?"
The woman blinked her long lashes a few times, Was he legitimately asking? She tilted her head to the side and looked to the distance as she thought of an appropriate answer. Yes, Part of it was because of Lexi's teasing, But that wasn't the only reason.
"Erm, Well, How can i say this? ...Its because i'm generally an honest, No filter kind of person. I say whatever is on my mind, Wether its rude or not. I never have to watch my mouth because i don't really care. But now, You'r my captain, And i have to respect that. After all, I owe you for all that you've done for me."
She tried maintaining her best poker face and hoping her captain didn't get the wrong idea.
"Doesn't that go against the way you were raised? You'r a princess are you not? I doubt anyone had much authority on you anyway."
She had a faint smile as she answered. "I may have been a princess, But now i am a pirate. I have to cope with the situation and even though, I didn't have to. I still owe you a debt. Even if i have to stomp on my pride a little bit."
Hie raised his eyebrow as he thought about what she just said. Was she really a princess or a noble warrior? What was she? The way she thinks about things was really...Different.
"We should get going though, also, we should find something to eat." She sighed as she stood up and looked around.
she froze when she noticed huge marble like eyes staring at her. The beast was still there, In front of him was the corpse of a deer.
Were they supposed to eat that? Did he hunt it for them?
She didn't know but she just woke up and she was in no mood to cook.
she took a look around and spotted a few necks of grapes dangling from a tree.
she swung her finger at it, creating a strong gust of sharp like wind causing it to land in her hand.
-"Captain."
He looked up to see a pair of golden eyes. the woman handed him a neck of the grapes, keeping one for herself.
-"And you call yourself a cook?" he smirked.
Her face turned red in embarrassment.
-"H-hey! i don't have enough tools to cook that deer over there! plus meat isn't suitable for breakfast." she pouted.
He chuckled a bit before eating the fruit in hand.
It wasn't much before they finished and got up too look for their fellow crew members.
-"He says he can guide us." The woman pointed at the lion mutant nearby.
Her captain wore worried facial features.
that being was very dangerous but somehow, It became her pet? how did that happen? She seemed to have that sort of ability.
The golden beast stood up, making his way towards the thick trees.
the pair simply followed it, having no idea where he was taking them.
-" "
-"Yes?" The woman turned towards her captain.
-"There was another thing i wanted to ask."
-"What is it?"
-"Aren't you supposed to be married?"
He didn't hear a response. he glanced at the brunette who was pretty dumbfound.
-"Oh, so its true?" He smirked.
-"N-N-NO! I have nothing to do with that man!" She blurted out.
Her captain raised an eyebrow.
-"You shouldn't say that about your husband."
He was having the time of his life messing around with the poor woman.
-"First of all, Were NOT married! It was only a forced engagement. Secondly, If i had a chance to kill that man, believe me i would. Why did you think i was so desperate to get out of that place anyway!?"
At least its ONE of the reasons. she thought to herself
-"Hmmm, So being a princess isn't that easy." he said calmly.
-"Of course it isn't."
But how interesting. A forced engagement? and to an awful man too.
How amusing.
One day, He'd like to meet that 'finance' of her's.
And if possible, Also make her fulfil that wish.
