Eight months and three weeks pregnant.
"Let me see the ultrasound photos." Gintoki said. "I'll show you later." He sigh. "Then when is the baby due?" Gintoki asked. Sonata laugh while rubbing her stomach. "Sorry, you just have to wait." He sigh. "Whatever. I'll see you later." She sat up. "Wait, Gintoki where are you going? Our baby is due this week. I'm going to need you to stay with me until I go into labor." Gintoki sighed.
"Calm down. I'm pretty sure the baby won't come today. Our child will come out when he or she is ready. You have have one more week." He said. "But that's not accurate. What if the baby comes early?" She asked. "It won't." He said. "You don't know that. I need someone to stay with me. What happens if I do go into labor, who's going to be here with me?" Gintoki picks his nose. "Look. Stop whining. You'll be fine. I got a job to do so I'll be back later on alright? See ya." He leaves out the door.
"Okay. Just let nature take its course. And I will be fine."
After sitting around she went outside to get some fresh air. She thought walking through the park would be good for her. She wobbled along the walkway when she see Katsura coming out a store. He's holding a box of mochi.
"Hey Katsura." She said. Katsura looks around, took out a bomb and start tossing up and down in his hand.
"Who said that?" He asked. "Me." Sonata said. "Who?" He asked. "Me, over here." She told him. Katsura looks in front of him then put away the bomb. "Oh it's you Sonata. What have you been up to? Whoa... That's a huge bubble." He pokes her stomach.
"Stop it Katsura this is not a bubble. I'm pregnant remember?" She said. "Oh yes I forgot. Second time pregnant right?" He asked. "No..this is my first baby. He or she just never came out yet. The baby can come out whenever it gets ready." She rubs her stomach.
"Oh...I thought it was a piñata the first time I saw it." He said. "No, my baby is not a piñata." She said. Katsura eye grew wide. "There's a baby in the piñata?" He asked looking surprised.
Sonata looks at him like is he really that stupid? Well he is stupid.
"My belly is not a piñata. But yes, I am pregnant and yes there's a baby in my belly." He nods. "Oh yes, that's right. Gintoki's child." Katsura laugh. "It's funny that he's having a baby. He was so upset the first time he told me you were pregnant." She nods. "Yeah but he's fine now." She said. "But before that he was hitting the wall saying damn, damn, damn!" Katsura shouted
"Okay, okay I'll get it now...Ah…ha…Ouch... Oh shit." Sonata holds her stomach. She looks down and felt her pants getting wet. "What the? Did I just piss?" Then the pain started to hit her hard. "Oh damn, OH! My water just broke." She said. "Oh no problem. We can buy you another glass of water." Katsura said. "No no Katsura, my water...just broke..." She starts breathing heavy. "Sonata-San, water can not break. It's liquid, not solid." He said. "Katsura! No! I need...need...need to...OUCH...!"
"Need what? To eat?" He asked. Sonata shook her head. "To drink? What is it?" He asked. "H...Hos...Hospital..." She told him. "Hospital?" Sonata nods. "Yes, yes the hospital now!" She shouted. "What about the hospital?" He asked. "You son of a-Ahh!" She sigh then try to calm down but still breathing heavy.
"Katsura." She said. "Yes?" He answered. "You're cute and all, just like Gin. But why do you have to be so damn stupid? Oh...my stomach..." She's seriously in pain. "I'm stupid? You're the one in labor and won't do anything about it."
Sonata right eye started to twitch. Then she yanked by his collar.
"Katsura please. Get me to the hospital. And when I come out, remind me to kick your ass." She it."
Katsura picked her up bridal style then start running to the hospital.
"If you knew I was in labor why didn't you do anything!" She shouted. "I needed to make sure you were really pregnant." He answered. Sonata kept hitting him in the head all the way to the emergency room.
Gintoki ran into the hospital while going the wrong way. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" He shouted while running in circles. "Hey! Anyone! Someone! Where the hell is the delivery room?" He shouted passing the door multiple times. "Gin-San it's right here!" Shinpachi shouted. Gintoki ran in seeing Sonata laying down while yelling out in pain.
"Are you the father?" The doctor asked. Gintoki nods. "Okay put this on and these gloves. Please stay with your wife." He told him. "Wife?" Gin asked. Sonata screams loud. "Alright the baby is coming. Let start this." The doctor said.
"I'm going to need you to push okay Ms. Violet." Sonata screams as loud as she could while trying to push.
Gintoki picks up a medical tool. "Oi, what does this thing do?" He said. "That tool right there is to clean the afterbirth." The Doctor answered. "Really, that's interesting." Gin said.
Sonata screams again. Gintoki held her hand. She gripped it tightly like she was going to break it. Gintoki screams like a little girl.
"Sonata! Let go!" He said yanking his hand away. She breathes in and out then push again. Gintoki walked over to the doctors then look where they were looking at. "Push." Sonata push again while screaming.
"Come on Sonata. Why are you screaming? You're going to wake the patients in this hospital." Gintoki said. Sonata threw her pillow at him. "Fuck you!" She shouted. "Now is not the time Mr. Sakata. It's okay Sonata, just breathe then push." The Nurse told her. She breathes slowly to calm herself down. "Push again Ms. Violet. First time as a father?" The Doctor asked Gin.
"Who?" Gintoki asked. "You." He said. "Oh me? Yeah it is." Gin answered. "No need to be nervous. Everything would turn out alright. I got three of my own." He said. "Really, does kids misbehave a lot?" Gin asked. "Well you see the thing is-" He was cut off. "Helloooo I'm a woman in labor right here!" Sonata told them.
"Doctor you have a patient." The Nurse said. "Oh I'm sorry." He said. "Hold it. This is important Sonata. Please continue Doc." Gintoki said. "Sonata screams again. "Hey doc, I was wondering. What's the difference between a regular vagina and a pregnant one?" Gin asked. "Take a look." Gintoki checked in between Sonata's legs. "Nah, that's a regular one. I have seen this so many times." Gin said. "Really?"
"Alright Ms. Violet push for the last time." The nurse said. Sonata let out a loud scream. "Here comes the head." The Doctor said. "Oh...now I see the difference." Gintoki said. "There we go."
The Doctor brings the baby out. The tiny fella started crying as he hands the baby to the nurses.
"Hold up what is this sliver stuff in his hair?" The nurse asked. They all took a look at Gintoki. "Oh...I see now." They said. "Okay time for round two." The Doctor said. "Round two? What do you mean round two?" Gin asked. "Why you think I didn't want you to see the ultrasound pictures. We're having twins Gintoki."
She screams while pushing out the second baby. "SURPRISE!" The Doctor said to Gintoki.
Gintoki mouth flew open as he stood there like a plastic manikin. One baby he was okay with. But two? What the hell?
"And here is the second baby." The second born started to cry as the doctor handed him on the nurse. Gintoki continues to stand there in shock. So the doctor smacked him in the back of the head. "What the hell?" Gin said. "Snap out if it. You're a father now. And congratulations." The Doctor leaves.
Gintoki rubs the back of his head and walks over to Sonata's side. He took her hand and hold it tight.
"Twins." He said. She nods. "Yes. Are you mad at me?" She asked. "Nah...I'm just a bit surprise. I'm glad we have twins. Because if we had one kid, we would have to make another baby to even it out." She smile. "No more children Gin. I'm done." She said. Gintoki nods.
"Here are your children."
The Nurse hands Sonata her babies. She sat up and held both of them in her arms. She smile and kisses their forehead.
"Two twin boys. Okay, I will name you Ginharu and you will be Gintosu. Is that alright with you Gintoki?" She asked. "No problem." He answered.
Gintoki caress their chubby cheeks. When he touch their hands, the babies grab on to Gin's fingers holding on to him tightly. Gintoki smile. They haven't opened their eyes yet and already. There's a bond between father and son's.
