To the story!

Natsu was frozen in his spot near the entrance of the guild. He watched as Lucy smiled and laughed while talking with Levy and Mira at the bar.

"Mou Natsu~ That was so mean!" Happy whined as he flew inside the guild beside Natsu. He noticed Natsu's silence and tilted his head to the side in confusion. He followed the dragon slayer's gaze and it landed on the bubbly celestial mage. Happy grinned.

"You liiiiike her~" Happy sang while rolling his tongue. Natsu gave no response and Happy furrowed his eyebrows. "Natsu?" Natsu shook his head and turned to his partner with a grin.

"Oh sorry, Happy. Let's eat!" He said with a grin. He headed off towards the bar to chat with the blonde celestial mage. Happy watched with concern as the two chatted animatedly.

"Natsu."

While Natsu was talking with Lucy, a fight with Gray somehow ensued and then the whole guild was in the playful fight. Lucy was sitting with Levy while watching the fight play out. Levy gave a sigh as she watched a certain iron dragon slayer in the fight. She shook her head as if denying something before turning towards her best friend.

"So Lu-chan, how're you and Natsu? He seems to be to be extra close to you lately." Levy teased. Lucy blushed. She huffed and crossed her arms.

"Not really." She said in denial. "Has Gajeel talked to you?" Lucy asked with a raised eyebrow. Levy blushed and looked away, failing to notice Lucy's necklace emit a small purple glow.

"W-We haven't really talked much recently." Levy admitted. Levy heard a snicker come from Lucy and looked up. Lucy was stifling her laughter with her hand.

"Don't worry, Levy-chan. Gajeel doesn't talk to anyone, so it's okay if he doesn't talk to you either." Lucy said.

"W-Wha-"

"He probably doesn't think too special of you either. I mean, he would be talking to you right now if you were that special someone right?" Lucy said bluntly. Levy felt her stomach drop as her gaze fell. She felt tears prick at her eyes but blinked them away furiously. She tried to speak only to find herself closing her mouth again, a dark thought coming into mind.

'That's right. If Gajeel really did like me like I do with him, I would be treated differently huh? I guess that means I'm not that special someone…' Levy thought as her heart felt heavy.

"You're probably just another obstacle in his life that he has to conquer."

Levy froze.

"I'm gonna go, Levy-chan. See ya." Lucy said curtly before walking away without a second glance. Levy felt her whole world freeze as Lucy's body disappeared in the crowd of guild members. Nothing mattered and nothing was there. Only Lucy's words that echoed through her head.

You're probably just another obstacle in his life that he has to conquer.

Levy felt her heart shatter. Levy's body was trembling as Panther Lily landed on the counter in front of her. Natsu plopped into the stool beside her as he tried to make the stars spinning around his head disappear.

"Hello Levy. Gajeel and I were wondering if you would like to come on a mission with us?" Lily asked with a smile. He gave a concerned look when she didn't respond. "Levy?"

Levy clenched her fists tightly as they shook uncontrollably. Natsu stole a glance at Levy and Lily when Levy didn't answer. He raised an eyebrow. He may be a dense idiot, but he knows that the iron dragon slayer has feelings for the blunette bookworm and vice versa. Levy looked up with a pained smile.

"I'm sorry, Lily. Bye." Levy murmured as she ran out of the guild, tears trailing after her. Lily sat in shock as Levy disappeared. He was expecting Levy's usual happy 'Sure!' or polite refuse of 'I have another quest to go on soon. Sorry!', but not for her to give a pained smile and to leave in tears. He jumped when he felt a hard bang on the bar counter. He turned his head to the right to see a crack in the table where Natsu's fist had collided into.

"Gajeel, that bastard. What did he do to Levy?" He asked murderously, an angry aura surrounding him. Lily felt a chill run through him, but he secretly questioned with Natsu. Maybe, just maybe, Gajeel did something to hurt Levy.

Gajeel had just got beaten by Erza as he stumbled towards the bar for a beer. As he did, he noticed Natsu giving him a cold, hard glare. Gajeel scowled as he sat down.

"What do ya want, Salamander?" Gajeel asked gruffly. "Oi Mira! Can I get a beer?" Gajeel called.

"Sure!" Mira replied and walked to the back to retrieve the beverage. Natsu waited until Mira was out of sight before grabbing Gajeel by the shirt, his eyes cold.

"The fuck! Get offa me!" Gajeel barked as he roughly pushed Natsu away. Natsu was barely fazed. His eyes remained on Gajeel. They faced each other. "What the hell was that for, Salamander?!"

"What did you do to Levy?" Natsu growled. Gajeel's gaze hardened.

"What does that mean? I haven't talked ta the Shrimp all day." Gajeel growled back. His anger was rising as the conversation continued. Natsu snapped.

"THEN WHY DID SHE LEAVE THE GUILD CRYING, YOU BASTARD?!" Natsu snarled as he tackled Gajeel. The two rolled around the guild floor. Tables were crashed and members split way for the incoming slayers.

"HOW THE HELL WOULD I KNOW?" Gajeel yelled back. He pushed Natsu off and stood up. "If the Shrimp is crying over somethin', it ain't because I said anythin' to her. I at least know that." Gajeel said before he stormed out of the guild. Natsu got up and growled at the retreating form of Gajeel.

"Oh my. What was that all about?" Mira asked, setting down the beer that was meant for Gajeel. Natsu angrily sat down and grabbed the beer the Mira had set down. He chugged it without hesitation. Natsu put down the glass with so much force that it cracked. Mira looked up in surprise at Natsu.

"Natsu! What's wrong? You're not acting like yourself." Mira exclaimed. Natsu gave no response. He stood up, his back towards Mira. Natsu walked out of the guild without another word, leaving a confused and worried Mira staring after him.

Levy blindly looked around before sitting down at what looked like to be a bench. She panted in exhaustion from the run and sobs that racked through her. She looked around at her surroundings and she could make out the scenery of the park through her blurred tears. She was the only one there; being that is was getting late the sun was setting. She drew up her knees and let out a quiet sob. The wind blew through her blue locks and all was quiet.

"Levy."

Levy looked up to see who had called her name.

"Natsu?"

"Why are you here?" Natsu asked. He could see the tears still pooled at Levy's eyes and his expression hardened. "And why are you crying?"

Levy flinched at the question. She lowered her gaze as she felt the urge to let out a sob. Natsu's expression softened as he sat down beside her.

"What happened?" Natsu asked. Levy rested her head on her knees as the wind blew. Natsu leaned back, giving the mage a little time to calm herself. A silence fell over the two mages.

"Nothing really happened. I guess….I just took something the wrong way and now I'm paying the price for it." Levy said softly. Natsu turned his gaze towards her, expecting more of an explanation.

"It's hard to explain. Let's just say, I found out that I'm not that special someone that I had hoped to be." Levy whispered. If Natsu wasn't a dragon slayer, he probably wouldn't have heard that. He turned his head towards Levy.

"What do you mean?" Natsu asked while settling his elbows on his knees. Levy turned her head towards Natsu.

"Natsu, this may be hard for you to understand." Levy said with a frown. Natsu gave Levy a reassuring look.

"Don't worry Levy. I'll try my best to understand." Natsu said, giving her a grin. Levy gave a small smile at the dragon slayer's famous grin.

"Well, I've been thinking lately that maybe Gajeel and I have been getting close and that I was probably someone special to him." Levy started. Natsu nodded in confirming his knowledge so far. "But someone has changed my mind about that now, and the truth is hurting a lot more than I thought it would." Levy admitted. Natsu stared dumbfounded at Levy.

"Uhh…"

Levy gave a weak laugh.

"It's okay if you don't understand Natsu." Levy reassured. Natsu shook his head.

"No, that's not it. Who changed your mind about that?" Natsu asked. Levy turned her gaze towards the ground. A gust of wind blew right as she uttered the name. Her words were silenced and only the man next to her could hear that name. His eyes widened in shock and Levy's answer replayed in his head.

"Lu-chan did."

So I hoped you enjoyed it! Please leave a review and tell me what you think! Hopefully I'll think of more and update soon. Thank you :)
