This is my second chapter on my promise. Or was it my first? ARGHHH! I lost count!

Chapter 4: Fire

Lucy P.O.V

The fire was strong and fierce. Lucy could feel the red hot flames licking at her arms and legs. She didn't care how much it burned. She knew Natsu would save her. He always did.
What she did care about were the screams. She had heard them. The screams of the children. It had come from the carriage. She first heard it when she was running. It had pierced her heart so bad that she didn't stop running. She didn't care what happened to her, as long as she could get them out alive.
"Where are you?!" She screamed over the roar of the fire.
"We're over here! Please, help us!" Came a voice of a girl.
Lucy started to running towards the voice, moving quickly so that she could get out of there fast.
As she finally reached the children, the roof behind her caved in. They were trapped, and the fire was getting more out of hand by the minute.
"What do I do?" Thought Lucy to herself. There was no way out without getting badly burnt or killed. Suddenly, she remembered. She knelt down and faced to little boy and girl.
"It's ok." She told the children with a smile. "My friend will save us."
All of a sudden, the roof above them started to fall down.
"NATSU!" Screamed Lucy with all her might, as she held the children with all her strength in a protective hug, waiting for the beams to hit her.
"Lucy, get up!" Yelled Natsu's voice.
Lucy looked up and saw Natsu standing over her. He had used his fire magic to toast the roof into ashes.
"What took you so long!?" Lucy yelled as she stood up.
Natsu smirked as he picked up the little girl and held her in his arms.
"Come on" Natsu said as he began to run.
Lucy scooped up the boy and ran after him.
"Hey wait! Can't you just eat the fire?"
"Nope. I'm still a little sick so give me a minute."
"Really? Some help you are!" Lucy replied, sighing.
"So where are we going?"
"There's one more person here. We need to get them out of here." "Really? Where?" "Don't know. But don't worry, I'll protect you." Natsu said, turning and facing Lucy, wearing a serious face.
"Thank Mavis it's smoky in here." Lucy thought as she felt the blood rush to her cheeks and turning them red.
As they were running towards the last person, Lucy began to feel sleepy. Her head was feeling heavy. "No! I need to stay awake." She told herself as she shook her head to wake herself up.
Finally, they found the person. It was an old lady. By this time, the smoke had gotten stronger. Lucy could feel her eye's getting heavier and she started to cough. Everyone but Natsu were coughing. The old lady brought out her hanky and covered her mouth from the smoke. Lucy ripped off some of her shirt and gave them to the children to cover their mouths with. As they walked on, Lucy's legs started to feel heavy. She was struggling to keep her eyes open. The heat and the smoke were making her tired. She began to fall behind the group.
"Onee-chan, are you ok?" Asked the boy, sounding worried.
"It's ok. I'm..." But before Lucy could finish, she felt her legs give way, and she began to fall.
But before she hit the ground, she felt two strong arms catch her, and carry her away. Then her world went black.

Natsu's P.O.V

"What a fine time to go to sleep!" Natsu said to himself as he put Lucy on his back. The smoke and heat had been too much and she had fainted. He had just seen her fall at the last minute and was able to run back and catch her. The boy she was carrying was now with the old lady and he still had the little girl.
He needed to get them all out of there safe and sound.
"Come on tummy. Stop feeling sick!"
If his stomach would just return to normal, he would be able to eat the fire and everything would be fine. Suddenly, he noticed something in the corner of his eyes. There, in the old lady's bag, were motion sickness pills! He quickly grabbed to packet and swallowed the whole pack.
All of a suddenly, he could feel his stomach returning to normal.
With a big grin on his face, he began to consume the fire. In seconds, it was all gone.
With the fire gone, he was able to get back to the gang.

As he reached the group, the mother and father of the kids ran towards Natsu, thanked him, and then hugged they kids like they were about to vanish into thin air. The husband of the old lady ran towards her and gave her a hug too. And the gang ran towards Natsu and Lucy with big grins on their faces.
"Thank Mavis you're alright!" Proclaimed Carla.
"NATSU!" Yelled Happy, as he flew into Natsu and gave him a big hug. "I thought you were gone!" He said between tears.
"What's wrong with Lucy-san?" Asked Wendy, looking anxious.
"She fainted. I think the heat was too much for her."
"We need to get her to a bed. Then I can check if she's ok."
Natsu and Wendy ran to the sick bay, while Erza and Gray walked behind them.

Wow! That was a long one.
