Wow, it's been awhile hasn't it? Not going to lie, I forgot about this story for awhile due to work, school, life in general haha. But, I checked up on this story a few days ago and saw that someone started following my story! Yay! It re-awoke my inspiration and helped me decide where I wanted this story to go. To be honest I had noooo idea how this story was going to end or how I was going to explain the KH and FFVII crossover but while doing my homeowork it hit me like a truck and I am VERY excited to finish this story now! So I hope by the end of this I'll have some feedback, favs, follows and I'll try to deliever new chapters whenever I find time.

My lungs were on fire but I urged myself to keep going. Vincent was a little ahead of me, both of us shooting down Dao Cho towards the village. I heard another blood curdling scream and made my legs go faster.

When we finally reached the village entrence we were greeted by complete destruction that stopped both of us in our tracks.

There were people running madly while limp bloodied bodies covered the ground. Small fires were sprouting around the village lighting up the sky as the sun dropped below the horizon. I was in complete shock. Sweet Leviathan, what was happening?

A loud bang snapped me out of my trance. I whipped my head towards Vince only to see his gun pointed at the ground.

"Vincent?"

"...I thought...nevermind. Lets go."

I nodded and off we went towards the closest villager. It was a mother standing stiffly holding her daughter, petrified by fear. I grabbed her shoulers and shook her lightly.

"Miss, are you okay? What happened?" I asked her gently.

Her eyes were wide with fear and she was shaking horribly. She stared at me for a few seconds before opening her mouth.

"L-lady Kisiragi! We have to get out of here! Th-these strange mosters...I've never seen anything like them before. They're as black as coal and move around like shadows on the floor. They appeared out of nowhere, just after the sun started to set. There were so many! The gaurds managed to defeat some but the creatures can just merge with the ground...they were sneaking up on all of us, slicing us open with their claws! Oh Lady Kisiragi, you must get to saftey! Lord Godo will want to get you to saftey!"

"Shhh, it's okay miss. Me and Vinnie here will take care of everything. We are going to find more people and escort you down to the docks. We'll call our friend Cid who has an airship to fly you guys to saftey okay?"

She nodded and held her daughter closer to her. I looked back at Vincent, "Okay Vinnie, you are going to stay here with her and protect her while I do a round around the city. I'll get all the survivors and bring them back to you so we can all go to the docks. Call Cid in the mean time. Tell him whats going on and tell him to get here ASAP and see if anyone else can meet us here, okay?"

"It's dangerous. You stay here and I will find people" he said

"No way. I know this town alot better than you do. Plus, who do you think they will listen to? You with your creepy vampire eyes, or me, the heir to the throne?"

"..."

"Ya, that's what I thou-" before I could finish my sentence a loud scream exploded next to us.

Vince and I quicky turned towards the young lady and her daughter just as that creature she had described took a slice at her. It was just as she had described. It was a short stubby thing that had two antennas sticking out of its head. It was black with two large yellow orbs and long claws.

Vincent didn't hesitate and quickly put a bullet right between the creatures eyes which caused it to evaporate into thin air. I ran to the side of the lady and performed a healing spell to stop the bleeding.

"Lady Kisiragi.." she breathed "my daughter..."

I looked around before noticing her kid had ran off.I met eyes with Vince and he gave me a nod before going off to look for the girl and more survivors.

"Don't worry, we will find her. Everything is going to be okay. Just stay with me!" I was about to do another healing spell when the mother's eyes got large. She sharply inhaled before harshly shoving me to the side. I hit the floor and turned around in time to see another one of those creatures. One had snuck up behind me and the lady had seen it. She pushed me out of the way and took the hit that should of been mine.

"NOOO!" I screamed and let my shuruken fly through the air. It ripped through the monsters body and flew back to my hands but it made no difference. More of these weird creatures had arrived and they hovered over the lady's body. I threw my weapon again but everytime I killed one of them, another took its place.

I watched in horror as they swiped their dirty claws through the mother's chest. Just as I saw the life leave her eyes, a pink shining object started to float above her.

"What the...is that..a heart?!" I thought.

My eyes weren't decieving me. There was, in fact, a heart, no, HER heart floating in the air. The creatures stopped and stared at it. The heart stayed floating like that for a few seconds before slowly drifing up towards the sky.

I couldn't believe this. Those things had the ability to steal someones heart like that. All those people I saw on the ground...had they sufferd just like this lady had?

I was lost in thought until I noticed those monsters were advancing on me. I had to find Vincent. We needed to leave NOW. I prayed to Leviathan that he had found the girl and others.

I got up and ran. I wanted to fight but we were at a disadvantage. We had never dealt with these monsters before and knew nothing about them. We had to meet up with the others first.

"Vincent! Vincent! Where are you?!" I screamed. I kept running looking for him like mad. The village had really quieted down by now, and I hoped it was due to everyone escaping. I headed towards one of the buildings and climbed on top to see if I could find Vincent from up there.

When I got to the roof I stood as tall as I could and surveyed Wutai. All I could see were lifeless bodies...then I spotted him. He was surrounded on all sides, his red cape billowing through the wind with the daughter from earlier standing behind him.

Why wasnt he shooting them? Did he run out of ammo? No, Vincent never ran out of ammo. Maybe he noticed how futile it was to attack them like I did...but then why wasn't he running?

I decided to find out for myself and took off in a sprint towards him.

"Vincent! I'm here!" I shouted and let loose my conformer to slice a path towards him.

"Yuffie, stand back, these creatures aren't of this world." he yelled at me.

"What..? What do you mean?"

"They aren't from our world...Chaos says these are souless creatures, summoned here by someone."

"What? That doesn't make any sense! Come on Vincent, grab the girl and lets head towards the pagoda. My father is probably in there with the other villagers. We need to get them all out of here and call Cid to pick us up so we can meet up with Teefs and Cloud and think of a plan."

Vincent didn't respond but picked up the crying girl and started shooting the monsters to get to me. I let loose my throwing knives and conformer to help him out.

Once we were reunited we started heading towards my fathers palace. We didn't get far though untill another swarm of those things blocked our path. Vincent put the girl down and told her stay close to him while he let off a round of shots. I stood right by him using my small shuruken to penetrate the creatures' bodies.

These things were never ending. Everytime we took one down it seemed like five more took its place. I was starting to get tired. How long could we do this?

Suddenly we heard a scream. One of the monsters had its grimey litle claw around the girl's leg, pulling her towards the black pool of darkness on the ground.

"Noo!" I heard Vincent say, before using his unnatural speed to get to the girl. He reached out his hand to grab hers, but those monsters were too fast. The little girl was surrounded by darkness in a blink of an eye. The last thing we saw of her was her pink heart disappearing into the sky.

"Vincent...you tried. We have to get to the others!" I said, feeling some tears slip from my eyes. What the hell were these things...my beautiful village had been destroyed by these horrible little monsters! Everything I'd done...everything I worked for! I'd avenge my people and find out whoever brought these things here like Vincent said.

"Vincent..." I pleaded, "We have to get to the others!"

"Yuffie, there are far too many of them,"

"We can do this Vincent...we were part of AVALANCHE, we saved this planet and these weird little ants aren't going to stop us!" I yelled while I unleashed my conformer towards the crowd of enemies gathering around us.

Vincent followed suit and starte shooting rounds into the crowd, but he was right. There were so many of them and they seeemed to be endless. I could feel myself getting tired, but I kept pushing myself to keep going.

Suddenly I heard an ear-splitting roar piece through the air. I twirled towards Vincent, my heart stuck in my throat imagining the worse.

He was croutched over on the ground, seemingly oblivious to the shawdows pooling around him.

"Vince! Watch out!" I shouted as I ran towards him.

I started to panic as he slowly started to dissappear behind the curtain of black. Another scream errupted from his throat.

"Vince! Vinnie! I'm coming! Please, I'm coming!" I desperatly called to him willing my legs to go faster. I was so close! I lifted my weapon behind me, calculating if I could get a clear shot without causing any harm to Vince, just as I was about to let it rip, I heard someone scream for help.

"Vincent! Vincent!..."

"VINCENT!" I screamed into the sky as I bolted up from my position on the floor.

What. The. Hell. That was the most epic, life-like, CRAZIEST, dream I had ever had. I surveyed my surroundings glad to see the monstrosities in my dream hadn't actually happened.

Those creatures...they were without a doubt heartless. I have to deal with them almost on a daily basis, and now they are taking over my dreams! Could I ever catch a break?

And that Vincent guy...I know it was just a dream but part of me was still really worried about what had happened to him.

"Snap out of it Yuffs! It was a dream. That Vincent guy wasn't in any REAL danger! Yup, just a silly ol-"

"PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!"

My ears perked up to the sound of the person yelling. Without skipping a beat I swiped up my new conformer and hurried towards the sound of the voice.

I gracefully hopped from rooftop to rooftop scanning the area below for the owner of the voice untill I spotted a young girl dressed in pink. She was surrounded on all sides by heartless.

'Just like in my dream...' I mused to myself.

I scaled down the buildings and landed right besides the child.

"Don't worry kid, Yuffie, the greatest-female-ninja ever is here to protect you" I grinned at her. She looked up at me with teary eyes and ran to stand behind me.

"Alright kid, don't try this at home. I'm a professional!" I boasted, my excitment fueling my confidence.

I took a step towards the circle of heartless and whipped my conformer at them. It whizzed through the air and sliced through them like butter. In the blink of an eye I withdrew kunai and small shuriken and artfully spun them through my hands before unleashing them at the beady-eyed creatures.

One tried lunging at me but I quickly side-stepped out of the way taking the girl with me and caught the returning conformer in my hand before slicing down at the unfortunate monster.

I saw another heartless charging at us head on. I pushed the girl to the side and did a backflip and let loose a shuriken towards it as soon as I landed, hitting it right in the chest.

I started getting impatiant and decided it was time to show these monsters who was boss.

I took towards a running start towards the nearest wall. I armed myself with some small throwing knives and leaped towards the wall at an angle to allow me to briefly run across the surface. My knives sailed through the air in a line, hitting each of my targets sqaure in the chest. I grabbed my conformer off my back and hoped of the wall into a forward roll. I used the momentum from my roll to put an extra kick in my throw and watched in delight as my signature weapon cut through the remaining hearltess like nothing.

"Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk! Nothing is a match for the greatest ninja ever!" I laughed as I stood up and dusted my hands.

The little girl ran towards me and hugged my leg mumbling how scared she was.

"Jeeze it's okay kid. Come on, lets get you home" I told her as I patted her head.

I grabbed her hand and led her towards the safer part of town. After we took a few steps, I whipped my head around towards a nearby dark ally.

It felt like there was someone there, watching us. I squinted to try to get a better look...

"Miss Yuffie, what's wrong?" the little girl asked.

"Huh? Oh nothing...just thought I saw something! Nyuk, Nyuk."

I was probably just imagining things, so I took the girls hand again and headed off to return her home.

A man with a scar along the bridge of his nose stood motionless in the darkness of the ally. He watched quietly as Yuffie and the young girl disappeared into a differnt part of town.

'What's with her lately? She was never capable of taking on that many heartless at once before, so skillfully too...and what is with her laugh? Something isn't right' Leon thought to himself.

His younger friend had really been acting weird lately. The past few times he had gone to wake her up he had heard her quietly mumbling about some man named Vincent in her dreams. Was he a friend of hers he had yet to meet? Was he the reason she was acting so odd?

Leon decided he should keep a close eye on Yuffie, to see if he could find any answers and to talk to Aerith to see if she could talk to their ninja friend.

Leon stepped out of the darkness and into the warm evening sun.

'Vincent...I don't remember Yuffie ever mentioning that guy before to me or Aerith. Who exactly are you?' Leon pondered while staring up into the sky.

A little more serious than the past chapters, huh? Next chapter I'll (hopefully) introduce some clouffie and let Yuffie finish her dream about Wutai getting attacked!

Also just in case people were wondering...I made everyone closer in age. So Yuffie is 20, and everyone else is mid 20's.
