From Point A to Point B

Extended Family

Uncle Sasuke

Sakura was angry with him. That was the only logical reason why she had left him with two one year olds while she went to go get more food. Bolt continued to fuss, making noises somewhere between cries and demands that did not end.

"You have to wait brat," Sasuke sighed, "Sakura is getting you more food right now. How could someone so small eat so damned much anyway," he said shaking his head as he glanced over at the ruins of a once proud civilization of yogurt, cereal and fruit.

He looked to his own daughter, quiet and engaged with a plastic ring, perfectly behaved. He smiled before Bolt again began to throw a mini tantrum.

"Having a fit isn't going to get you fed any sooner. Now calm down," he said locking eyes with the small boy.

Bolt immediately began to cry. That in turn led to Sarada starting to cry, which in turn led to Sasuke to begin panicking. The last thing he needed was for Sakura to get back and to start demanding what the hell he had done. He didn't even know what he had done, but he knew he needed to end this quick.

His first attempt to quell the situation was to grab a stuffed rabbit sitting on the counter and wave it in front of the child's face. This did nothing as the toy was ignored and soon abandoned. He next attempted to calm the kid with some soothing words but in his tone and inflection they came off more as subtle threats which had little to the opposite desired effect.

Sasuke was now becoming desperate as he eyed the door expecting Sakura and the interrogation slash lecture that would follow. Finally a light clicked as his sharingan swirled into existence.

"Just a little genjutsu," Sasuke thought to himself. Nothing bad, just some nice images of ramen or whatever the hell Uzumaki's dreamed of.

He focused on the boy only to find that both children had stopped crying and were staring at him with a curious gaze. He deactivated his eye almost certain he hadn't done anything yet when Bolt began to motion at him, pointing and muttering in gibberish. Sasuke was confused before activating his sharingan again. Both Bolt and Sarada began to giggle and clap, reaching out to touch the spiraling red eye.

Sasuke found himself sighing yet again, partially relieved and at the same time feeling rather stupid as his clans pride and joy had been reduced to an infants distraction. Still he figured it was best that at least they were no longer crying and continued to indulge the two activating and deactivating his eye much to their delight. Until Sakura had come home and demanded to know what the hell he was doing.

Uncle Kiba

"If Bolt gets hungry you can give him an apple or some peanut butter and celery," Hinata said as hastily put on her coat. "There are juice boxes in the fridge for him and some left over roast if you were hungry."

"I'm fine thanks Hinata," Kiba said smirking as his teammate buzzed about the living room.

"He's playing in his room right now but you can take him to the park if he'd like to go outside. I shouldn't be at the hospital for more than a couple of hours but I'll let you know if I have to stay longer."

"Will you relax Hinata," Kiba chuckled, "getting so worked up is probably not good for the baby."

"I know but it's just that normally I'd ask Sakura or Ino to babysit. I really appreciate you looking after Bolt while I go for my checkup but you've never really had to watch a small child by yourself before."

"I look after the dogs for my sister sometimes," Kiba shrugged.

"That's not the same thing Kiba."

He wanted to say it was Naruto's kid so how different could it be? But then again it was her kid too so she might get angry with him for that.

"I can handle one kid Hinata. Don't worry alright?"

"I know, thank you for doing this on such short notice," she said hugging her friend, "oh and whatever you do, do not give him any sugar."

"Right, no sugar, got it," Kiba said waving as she rushed out the door.

He couldn't help but shake his head, still amazed that Hinata was a mother now. She had come so far from the shy girl he once had on his team. A team that sadly would no longer be together with a second child on the way. He banished such melancholy thoughts as he strolled over to Bolt's room and peeked in. Bolt was playing with a couple of action figures looking very eerily like a clone of his father at that age. The opening door caught the boy's attention as he looked up and smiled.

"Hey uncle Kiba," Bolt said jumping to his feet.

"Hey squirt," Kiba said offering a fist bump which was eagerly accepted. Hugs were for wimps, cool uncles gave fist bumps after all. "Looks like it's me and you today kid."

"Really? That's great," Bolt happily shouted aware that uncle Kiba wasn't nearly as strict as aunt Sakura or aunt Ino.

"So what do you want to do first?"

"Actually, I'm a little hungry."

"Hungry huh, then let's go get a snack."

"Yeah," Bolt shouted before barreling out of the room.

"Definitely Naruto's kid," Kiba chuckled to himself.

He gave Bolt an apple and fished a juice box out from the fridge, which Bolt gave a sour look to.

"What's wrong?"

"Mom always makes me drink juice boxes. All natural, no sugar they're for babies. I'm not a baby," the young boy pouted. "Do you think I could have a soda uncle Kiba," he said as his wide eyes sparkled up at him.

"Well…your mom said not to give you sugar," Kiba reasoned.

"Please."

"But…I guess one can couldn't hurt," he said grinning and pulling two cans from the fridge, "but this is our little secret okay?"

"Thanks uncle Kiba you're the coolest," Bolt gleefully shouted before gulping down the drink.

"Hey take it easy. The can isn't going anywhere," Kiba chided as Bolt polished off the can and sped away. "Crazy kid," Kiba grumbled as he opened his own can and took a swig, pausing at the odd taste. Looking down he began to read in earnest the front of the "soda" he had gotten them.

"Tauros…high energy drink…revitalizing energy…super caffeine boost…shit."

Hinata would return two hours later to find her son with a towel wrapped around his shoulders like a cape, bouncing up and down on her exhausted and sprawled teammates back claiming he had defeated the evil Dog-man. Suffice to say, both parties agreed it would be best if Kiba did not babysit Bolt again.

Uncle Gaara

Naruto's coronation had been quite the event, Gaara mused to himself. The entire village and a great many from the other villages had come to see the hero of the war assume the leadership of the hidden leaf. Gaara couldn't help but smile at that, thinking of how long his friend had strived for this dream to come true and to be there when it happened was an honor.

One of the first things Naruto had done as the ceremony was to seek him out so they could meet as kages. The smile he wore was infectious and even Gaara was not immune to its power as his friend laughed and celebrated with the rest of his peers. Eventually the festivities had died down and Gaara had been invited to stay at the Hokage mansion with its new family. Everyone by now was asleep as he made his way to the roof. While being able to sleep normally for some time now, Gaara more often than not would stay up to watch the moon, this respite no longer an exile but more a time to reflect and relax. However it would seem that would have to wait as he sensed the presence of another. He crept around to be greeted by the sight of Naruto's son sitting and staring into the sky.

"Bolt?" The boy turned quickly, freezing before seeing who it was and relaxing, a prospect that Gaara found ironic considering how people use to react to him.

"Hey uncle Gaara," the boy said quietly.

Gaara's smile returned, having grown fond of the title given to him by Naruto's oldest before it disappeared at the sound of the child's voice. Bolt, much like his father was usually a very happy and energetic boy, but he seemed rather dejected at the moment.

"What's the matter," Gaara asked taking a seat.

"Couldn't sleep," Bolt shrugged. "I have trouble sleeping if I'm not home."

"But this is your home?"

"No," Bolt said anger rising in his voice, "my home is the house I grew up in. This place isn't home."

"But it is your home now. Eventually you will get used to it."

"I don't want to get used to it. I want things to be the way they were."

"I think there is more to this than merely a new house," Gaara said looking over at the boy.

"It's just…everything is going to change now. Dad is so happy and I get that. I'm happy that his dream came true. But…he's not just my dad now. I barely saw him when uncle Kakashi was training him to become the Hokage. Now that he's Hokage I'll never see him."

In some ways Gaara could understand the boy's plight. While his own childhood and relationship with his father had been the farthest thing from normal, he understood wanting a father who would be there for you. Unlike his own father however, he knew Naruto would never abandon his son for whatever reason.

"Your father has many new responsibilities now. But do not believe that he will forget about you or will no longer have time for you. He holds all those he loves close to him and none more closely than his family. You will have to be patient and understanding," Gaara said looking down to see Bolt fast asleep. "You will endure Bolt," Gaara said turning back towards the moon, "you are after all an Uzumaki."

I might do another one of these with the ladies in Bolt's life. If you have a person or thing you would like to see then leave a request and review and I'll see what I can do. Until then read and review people.
