If you haven't read Silver Snake, you might want to. I know there is a gap between that story and this one. Instead of the rangers getting their Ninja Powers from Ninjor they got them from Dulcea.
"Hey Rocky, is it true that your uncle is going to speak to the football team after school?" Billy asked.
"Yea, Mr. Caplain asked him if he could talk to us before the Stone Canyon game," Rocky said.
"Man I can't believe your uncle is Joe Haley," A boy sitting next to Rocky said.
"Yea, he's the best pro quarterback," Aisha said.
"I have always thought of him as Uncle Joe. He did a lot for me growing up," Rocky said.
"Class, enough chit-chat, please put on your goggles," Mr. Wilton said.
"Hey Alan, can you tell me the formula?" Rocky asked the boy next to him.
Alan told Rocky what to pour, then smoke filled the room.
"Alright settle down and exit the room calmly," Mr. Wilton said.
"I don't believe it! Those lousy rangers can't do a chemistry formula right, and we can not beat them," Rita said.
"I'm sure we will send down the right monster soon," Goldar said.
"There you are, I created a mold for a new monster," Finster said.
Rita looked at it and said, "Yuck no more bugs."
"Go long Goldie," Rito said.
He threw a football towards Goldar who accidentally bumped into Finster, who dropped the mold.
"Oh no my mold," he said.
While the five of them were looking for it, the mold touched the football. Suddenly, a monster appeared. He had a football jersey on.
"Hut hut hut hike," the monster said.
He threw something that looked like a football to Rito who caught it then disappeared.
"Where did he go?" Rita asked.
"Who cares he's gone," Goldar said.
Zedd saw something and asked, "What's this?"
He picked it up. The four of them were laughing when they saw a football that looked like Rito.
"Goldar go long. Let's play some Ritoball," Zedd said.
Goldar missed the ball causing it to hit the floor. Rita used her staff and return Rito back to normal.
"Aw did you have to?" Goldar whined.
"Did anyone catch the number of that truck?" Rito asked.
"Finster, you actually created something useful," Zedd said. He turned to the monster and said, "I'll call you Centiback. Half centipede half quarterback."
While the class was out in the hall, Bulk and Skull ran towards them.
"All right, who done this?" Bulk asked.
"Shouldn't you two be in class?" Mr. Wilton asked.
"We been put on celebrity guard duty," Bulk said.
"Yea, we will be watching Rocky's uncle," Skull said.
"You two?" Rocky asked.
The others probably would be better. Then again, we aren't cops. Rocky thought.
"All right everyone back inside. As for you two, I suggest you get to class," Mr. Wilton said.
"You heard the man back inside!" Skull yelled.
After school Rocky and Alan were talking.
"How can you have so much trouble in school Alan? You are smart," Rocky said.
"I don't know. It's like the letters are out to trick me," Alan said.
"What?" Rocky asked.
"Even when I was young, it was like letters and numbers would move around," Alan said.
"You know, Uncle Joe had trouble growing up," Rocky said.
"Your uncle, I bet we missed his speech," Alan said.
"Oh yea, let's go," Rocky said.
To bad I can't teleport us there. He thought.
When Rocky and Alan got to the football field Bulk and Skull were bugging Rocky's uncle for autographs before Centiback appeared.
Not now. Rocky thought.
The monster threw his football first at Skull, then Bulk, and then at Rocky, but his uncle caught the ball.
"Intercepted," the monster said.
Alan caught the ball and looked at Rocky as he turned into a football.
"You picked the wrong day to mess with me," Rocky said before he morphed into his ranger form.
Rocky fought the monster and dodged every attempt it had to turn him into a football.
"All right, the visiting monster is leading 4-0," the monster said.
"Zordon I'm being attacked on the high school football field," Rocky said.
"Zordon, he's the worst coach in the universe," the monster said.
Seconds later, the rest of the team arrived, already morphed.
"Don't touch the football, see what he did to Uncle Joe and the others?" Rocky said pointing to the footballs.
"We'll get them back," Tommy said.
"All right football my favorite sport, next to martial arts," Josh said.
"Zeddy, the other rangers have arrived," Rita cried.
"Not to worry my dear, we'll send down the Tenga team," Zedd said.
When the Tenaga'a showed up the monster said, "All right the second string has arrived.
This reminds me of when I tried out for the football team. Tommy thought.
The two groups looked like they were going to play football. The rangers attacked the Tenaga's like football offensive linemen would attack defensive linemen. The monster tossed the football to a Tenaga. The Tenga threw the ball to Tommy. The ball hit him in the chest.
"One down, six to go," the monster said.
Some tenaga's kept most of the rangers from the monster. One at a time Adam, Billy, Kim, and Aisha became footballs.
"Looks like it's just you and me," Rocky said to Josh.
"You know I never thought I would be playing football against a monster," Josh said.
The monster threw the football towards Rocky, but Josh pushed him out of the day, getting hit in the process.
"All right, now the score is 10-0," the monster said.
"Zordon, I'm the only ranger left," Rocky said.
As the monster threw the football towards Rocky he teleported.
"Hey no fair, he can't leave like that. "Oh well, half time. We might as well head for the locker room," the monster said.
At the Command Center Rocky asked, "Zordon, what can I do?"
"At this point, there isn't a lot you can do," Zordon said.
"Calling on Dulcea is out of the question," Rocky said.
"You will need all the rangers to defeat Centiback
"The footballs are made out of energy," Alpha said.
"If we can reverse the spell, then the others should be free right?" Rocky asked.
"I'm ahead of you," Alpha said.
A big bucket appeared.
"Wish me luck," Alpha said.
The alarm sounded.
"Centiback has moved the footballs to the mountains," Zordon said.
"Ayi-yi-yi my weather scanner says a snow storm is heading there," Alpha said.
"Great just what I don't need," Rocky said.
"Rocky, if you move fast, you can get everyone back to normal before the snow gets to bad," Zordon said.
"Back to action!" Rocky said.
Oh man I can feel the snow coming. He thought.
"Welcome back for the second half sports fans," the monster said.
"Things are about to change in my favor," Rocky said.
The monster threw the football towards Rocky. He picked the bucket and the ball went into it.
"Hey give me my ball back," the monster demanded.
"Sure no problem," Rocky said.
With the ball still in the bucket, Rocky tossed the ball towards the balls. Bulk, Skull, Alan, and Rocky's uncle returned to normal.
"It worked Zordon. I got them free," Rocky said.
"I'll have Alpha teleport them to the football field," Zordon said.
The four of them left in streams of white light.
"Hey that's cheating," the monster said.
The monster threw the ball towards Rocky. He caught the ball in the bucket and tossed it to the remaining balls. The rangers returned to normal.
"That is one experience I'll never forget," Tommy said.
"You and me both," Josh said.
"Is everyone here?" Tommy asked.
"Everyone said yes.
"I'm fine too," Saba said.
"Uh oh, the rangers are their selves again," Rita said.
"No problem, let's see how they do with the economy size," Zedd said.
The monster grew. The ranger called for their zords.
When the monster saw the Ninja megazord and Josh's Dragonzord he said, "Hey no fair. There is no double teaming in football.
Josh shot a few bolts of electricity at the monster. Then the Ninja megazord punched the monster twice.
"Game over, you win," the monster said before he explode.
A short time later, the rangers were hanging out at the juice bar when Rocky's uncle and Alan walked up to them.
"Good news, Mr. Wilton won't ask the coach to suspend me," Alan said.
"Really?" Rocky asked.
"Joe took me to the school's research lab and got me tested. It turns out I'm dyslexic," Alan said.
"Sometimes our brains don't comprehend letters and numbers correctly. I had the same problem growing up. Alan just needs some help," Joe said.
"That's great that you don't have to quit and that you will be getting help," Rocky said.
Josh looked up from his English book and said, "Wow Joe Haley, you're my favorite football player. What are you doing here? I mean you talked to us after school, but I didn't think you would come around here."
"He's my uncle and apparently he helped Alan," Rocky said.
Everyone turned to Bulk and Skull getting chewed out by Lt. Stone.
