Hi everyone! I wanted to thank all my amazing reviewers. You have no idea how happy I was when I saw all the reviews I got; they were all incredibly sweet and made my day. So here's chapter 4. :) I wanted y'all to know, that I can't write a chapter less than 1500 words any more, so every chapter will be above 1500 words. I think this is the longest chapter of all 4, so enjoy.

Disclaimer: Is Rick Riordan a 14 year old girl? I didn't think so…

Katie's PoV

Katie was sitting alone in her Maths class, barely even listening to the teacher talking about formulas and the gods know what. Not bothering to even look attentive. How would the study of a triangle ever help anyone in life? [A/N : it's something I have always wondered]

During English, while the teacher babbled on about Shakespeare and his plays, while Katie and Travis sat playing things like hangman, cross and knots and name, place, animal, thing. Travis kept making up random words, which didn't exist, causing Katie to laugh. The teacher then gave them a long lecture on paying attention and disturbing the class. The whole time Travis, who was standing behind the teacher, was making goofy faces over his head, making Katie want to burst out into giggles.

In Science, Travis had decided to see what would happen if he reacted potassium with water…very bad move, that lab would be out of order for a couple of months now, but luckily no one was killed, though there were some minor burns. Travis had been sent to the principle after this little stunt, and Katie was sent to escort him to the office. When they got there, Katie was surprised to see Connor already sitting their, apparently he had set of stink bombs in the class and started a water fight. The two just turned their puppy dog eyes on the poor principle and he let them off with a warning.

Break had been the same as homeroom. Katie's past friends started chatting with her. The five that were always there were Marissa, Lily, Mandy, James and Alex. The rest were just there. They demanded to know where Katie had been for the past nine years, and with a little help from Connor and Travis she had managed to spin a lie that she had been attending a boarding school in New York, and in the summers she went to a camp where she had met the Stoll's, which also wasn't really a lie. But it's not like Katie could tell them, I spent the last nine years at a camp fighting monsters because hey, I'm a Demi-god, a kid of a Greek goddess. Yeah, not exactly the best thing to say if she wanted people to like her.

Katie had spent her whole time at school with none other than Travis Stoll. If anyone had told her this a week ago, she would have pulled out a dagger at your neck, then go and yell at the Stoll's for spreading rumors. If you told her now, she would just roll her eyes. She spent all her time at school with Travis, and strangely enough, she had enjoyed every second of it. From playing hangman, to watching him blow up their science lab, she had a lot of fun.

Now she was sitting in her only class without him, trying to pay attention to the lesson, but her attention kept wandering back to him. Triangles weren't even an interesting or important shape, especially not in the life of a Demi-god. Maths was a killer to her dyslexia and ADHD, especially without Travis, at least he would have been able to distract her and give her something to do.

She almost laughed in relief as the bell rang, signaling the end of the lesson. Her teacher had given her so much homework, Katie was sure her social life would now be non-existent. Her English teacher had given them the first scene of Romeo and Juliet, the play they would be doing this term. Not only was English bad for her dyslexia, but old, Shakespearian English would be a killer to her eyes. The science teacher had given them an essay to write on the reactivity series, and why potassium and water should not be mixed, after a long hard glare at Travis, which he took as compliment, as he winked at the class and ran a hand through his hair.

Katie shoved all her books into her bag, and walked out of the class only to be face to face with none other than Travis Stoll.

"I thought you had been attacked or something, Gardner. You took ages in there." Was the only greeting she got from him. She just rolled her eyes at him, and headed to her locker to pick up her gym kit, and they walked to the Gym side by side joking and laughing. They separated when they got to the changing rooms, where Travis was reunited with Connor, and Katie with Mandy, Lily, Marissa and ugh her step-sister's, Victoria and Veronica, and their side-kick, a girl called Grace.

She had wispy, cheaply dyed blonde hair, cut just below her shoulder blades. Her original brown hair roots could easily be seen. She wore way too much make-up, probably as an attempt to hide the terrible acne breaking out everywhere, but it could clearly be seen through the mounds of blush and foundation. She had small plain muddy, brown eyes that seemed almost colourless, that showed way too many emotions and they seemed flat. They were lined in black and loaded with mascara. They also showed that she had an attitude problem, as did her clothes. She was quite short, even though she was wearing huge gold stilettos to match her short gold skirt and black top. It was freezing yet the girl dressed like it was summer.

As soon as Katie walked through the doorway, Grace's piercing eyes locked on her, sending her a glare along with her step sisters, glares that would have made even Kronos cower in fear, but Katie didn't shot any weakness, and she sent them the glare right back. When she got changed into her gym kit, which consisted of short navy blue short and a white t-shirt with the school logo on it, she headed into the gymnasium, and sat down with her friends.

The gym teachers took attendance and one of them began speaking to the group of students sitting in front of them.

"This year our first sport will be fencing. Over the days, you will learn how to hold your foil, which is your sword, the lightest of the three weapons used in fencing, correctly and how to fight with them. You will be put into pairs, and over time you and your partner will learn the art and skill that is fencing. We have already chosen you partners so there will be no arguing and no switching partners. We have also gotten in one of our finest fencers to help you with today's lesson, Sam Gardner."

Then the other teacher next to him pulled out a sheet of paper, and she began listing off names, and partners. There were some cheers, groans and high-fives. Katie didn't hear n it her name almost till the end, and when it came, it was a shock.

"Katie Gardner and Travis Stoll." Katie just raised a brow at Travis, and he shrugged in response. Connor didn't mind the two being put together, because he had been paired with Mandy and was just grinning at her, at which the red-head just rolled her eyes. The list of names came to an end and the teachers told everyone to take a mat per pair and spread them selves out. Next the foils were handed out. There were lots of ohh's and ahh's heard as everyone received a weapon. Katie rolled her eyes at her classmates' immaturity and Travis grinned at her mischievously.

As the two got their weapons, Travis had a glint in his eyes, which scared Katie a bit as Travis's ideas were usually not good. He grinned at Katie and said,

"So, Katie…you know that swordfight we had at camp a few days ago? Well I think it was interrupted, shall we continue, because if I remember correctly, there was an argument on it, that Hermes is better than Demeter? You don't want to disappoint dear mummy now do you?" Travis's eyes were glinting evilly as he looked at Katie. He held out his hand for her to shake, and after a moments hesitation her anger took over and Katie shook his hand once, her eyes narrowed at him, never leaving his face.

She walked over to her side of the mat, and began stretching out her limbs and joint, while Travis went to his side and did the same. The two teachers called for attention and demonstrated how to hold a foil correctly. They filed to notice the two teens at the back, who were already holding the weapon correctly, facing each other, as if they had known their whole lives.

Katie finished her exercising and picked up her foil. She swung it around once or twice to get to know the weapon, that was one of the most important rules of sword fighting that Chiron had taught them. Know what you're fighting with, it could save your life, well, for a Demi-god, it would save your life. The foil was light and easy to maneuver.

Katie and Travis met in the center of the mat, both their foils in their hands. This wasn't really like the sword fights at camp, but it would have to do. They shook hands, and Katie took a step back, taking on her fighting position. The teachers, Mr. John and Ms. Lewis, just opened their mouths to explain what they were doing, to the class, but they were distracted by the loud clash of two foils, which echoed around the huge gymnasium.

Everyone turned around to find the source of the noise, surprised to see that Travis and Katie were locked in fierce combat, neither one backing down. Travis had made the first move. He swung his foil, but Katie blocked it. Travis was testing her speed and agility. Katie then slashed towards Travis and the battle began. They swung parried and dodged blows by the other, fully concentrated. Katie swung low, to trip Travis, but he jumped over it, and tried to slash at Katie, but she wasn't there.

Everyone, except Connor, was watching the two, eyes wide with surprise. There was no sound in the gym, except for the clash of the foils, and the occasional insult the two threw at each other. They were so concentrated that they didn't notice that anyone was watching them. Travis then did a fancy maneuver to try and disarm Katie, the one Luke taught to Percy, but she was half expecting it, and in some unexplainable manner, both ended up with their foils on the others neck, both breathing heavily.

the silence was broken by Connor, who clapped twice, and stepped forward, drawing everyone's attention to him.

"Wow. Travis, you tied with Gardner. You didn't do the disarming maneuver right though, it's more…like…this." And he managed to disarm his brother, making everyone stare at him in the same way, with awe. There was no other word for the way they all looked at the three right now, even the teachers looked dumb-struck. As his foil clattered on the ground, Travis raised an eyebrow at his brother.

Connor brought his head close to the two, and whispered cheerfully,

"We're gonna have lots of fun explaining this to them, huh?" He rolled his eyes and pointed at the group behind him. Travis and Katie looked in front of them to see the whole class, teachers and even the school's finest fencer, staring at the three in awe, with their mouths hanging open and their eyebrows raise. Yupp, defiantly going to have fun explaining to them.

SO…I hope you all like it . :) I actually like this chapter, and I think it turned out well especially considering that I had literally 4 hours of sleep last night. :/ Remember to review. The review button turns purple if you hve, if yours is still blue, then…reviewww!
