Okay, you're probably wondering about stuff like: how long has Vanitas has been 'dead', what about Terra, Aqua, and Ven, or when Danny Phantom is going to show up. Well, keep waiting on Danny. Danny MIGHT show up in the next chapter, I don't know yet.
As for the first one, I think Vanitas has been gone for eleven years because Birth by Sleep happened when Sora, Riku, and Kairi, were kids.
As for two, Ven's been asleep in Castle Oblivion. Terra has been under control by Xehanort and turned into a heartless and a nobody... then killed. Aqua has been in the realm of darkness.
So... yeah, I don't think they have really aged because of what they went through. Also, the shelter I mentioned last chapter, that was made up. I don't know if they have one, but I figured that they may have one.
Also the italics below are for what happened earlier for Luna.
-Luna's POV-
"Yeah, I'm fine. I don't want you question me much on my dream, but before it ended I felt like I was burning. Did I touch something hot while I was asleep?"
"Uh... no. The tree house has twenty-four seven hours of shade and there wasn't anything in there with you." Kairi says confused.
"Great, another mystery to deal with." I sigh and faceplam.
"Another mystery, what do you mean?" Riku said.
"I've been through a lot lately", I said rubbing my head, "One odd thing after another, it keeps me rather busy."
I heard some sand move nearby and looked behind me. There was a hoard of black and white creatures.
"What are these things?!" I say, startled by their appearance.
"Heartless and Nobodies! Luna, run!" Sora gets in front of me with Riku and Kairi.
They were holding blades that looked like gaint keys and they got into defensive stances. Three people against a hundred creatures? You know what, I'm going to help them.
I'm not entirely human. I dropped my illusion form. My left eye changed to its real color, green. My fangs appeared on both jaws. My ears are floppy dog ears on top of my head. I have a navy blue tail. My fur on my arms from my hand to just above the elbow by two inches are a light navy blue. Same for my feet up to the ankle. My nails are long, black, and sharp. Same goes for my toes only shorter. I only have four fingers for both hands and five toes each. My feet have padding on the underside. My actual skin is pale and my eye areas are blackish and my lips are a solid black. The 'shoes' I was wearing, were part of the illusion.
I let out a growl and leapt over the trio. Then I dived after the creatures and started shredding them with my claws. Seeing as they fade away when defeated, I decided not to bite the creatures.
"Luna?!" I heard Sora say, obviously shocked.
"No time for that! Let's get rid of these things!" Riku said.
I was too focused on getting rid of the creatures called Heartless and Nobodies, AND making sure I didn't hurt the trio, to notice one of the little jerks sneak off. As for every one we defeated, three more would appear. It was getting rather annoying.
"Do these things ever end?" I gave a short glance over to Sora.
"Not that I know of, but if we don't do something soon, we might have to retreat," Sora looks back at me briefly.
"We can't risk that! If they get to the mainland, all Hell is going to break loose," I heard Riku say.
"What do the heartless and nobodies act on?" If my hunch is correct, then I have an idea.
"The heartless work on instinct and the nobodies work on their own will," Kairi said as she went past me to attack another one.
"Which is which?"
"The dark-colored ones are heartless and the silver-colored ones are nobodies." Riku says.
"Let me try something then," I go over to a group of heartless to try my idea.
I bear my teeth and let out a terrifying snarl, "Grrrrr-RAAAHHHH!"
I hear a light squeak and the heartless melt to the ground and disappear. The nobodies took one look at me and did something similar.
"Well, that was easy," I really didn't expect all of them to flee but this works.
Remember the one I didn't notice sneak off? Well here it comes to bite me in the arse.
A little black creature with yellow eyes landed on me with its claws in my chest, but I just kick it off to go smack against a tree. After hitting it, it vanished.
I get back up and dust myself off. Then look up at them giving me shocked looks.
"I assume you want an explanation on my appearance," I stated in mono-tone.
"Yep, and one more thing. How did you get that heartless off without accidentally removing your heart?"
I shrug and say, "I'm not sure. For my appearance, I'm going to tell a summed up version of my life story so you guys know the important parts."
"Alright, tell us," Kairi spoke up.
"I came from a place that researched different kinds of hybrids. They would always use this formula, D.N.A. from a female human and a male animal. The animal they used would always be different. The project was called Humane Animals. One day, a man in a black cloak came with a few theories for the scientists to try out. After much discussion, they came up with a machine of a sort.
"I was special to them, so I was picked for the test. They put me in a container with the machine. The next thing I knew was a flash of light and pain. When I woke up, I was in the infirmary and I hardly felt anything, except I did feel that something was missing.
"Later, after checking a few things, I was released from the infirmary. I hacked into their computers and found out that they were going to use H.A. to start a war. So I fled, found a place to get to, broke out of the compound, hijacked a space ship, and came here. I'm not sure what they took, but I don't want to go back to that place," I shudder at the memory.
"So... what's the story on those weapons of yours?" I jester to the things they were holding.
"Uh," Sora looks at Riku and Kairi for help.
Riku took over, "They're called keyblades. We use them to defeat heartless and nobodies so no one gets hurt by them. Now that these creatures have come back, it seems we're called to defend again."
"Well what do you know? It seems that a certain dog had gotten out," said an echoing voice.
We all tensed at the sudden noise.
"Two surprises today, so interesting but so unusual," the voice seems to taunt the four of us.
"Half-wolf, idiot. Now show yourself!" I shout to the owner.
A man in a black cloak appeared on the other side of the beach from a black portal that appeared just to disappear. Seeing the threat, we got into defensive stances.
The man stinked of evil, it felt like poison to my senses. I could tell by the way he talked earlier that he was cunning. As for whatever strength he had, he did not seem like the kind to underestimate or believed for whatever he said. But one feeling was clear to me:
Run.
He continued to be cryptic, "You should not have left, now I have to take the liberty of taking you back."
"If you think you're going to take me back there so easily, think again," I then hissed at him to emphasize my point.
He seemed amused by my attitude.
"Either way, you're not getting out of this so easily," he snapped his fingers and more of the creatures appeared, then he left the way he came.
Not again.
