"Can I get you anything else?" The waitress asked, sounding disinterested.
JJ shook her head and Emily considered for a moment, "Another coffee please?"
The waitress nodded, and disappeared.
"So you're not lying to me?" JJ asked, leaning forward, her voice lowering as if it was a huge secret that nobody in the world could hear.
"Nope, I wish I could say I was," Emily sighed, pulling the pregnancy test that she hadn't taken out of her pocket since she'd found out.
"You have to go to the doctor Em," JJ said, glancing down at the test.
"I know, I've already made an appointment,"
"I have another question," JJ paused after she spoke. Emily already knew what she was going to say.
"Who's the dad?" Emily asked, before JJ could even get the question out. JJ looked taken aback but nodded.
Emily had a clue who it was, she hadn't been with anyone else in over a year, the timing was right, and everything fit. But she wasn't about to tell JJ that.
"I'm honestly still not sure," Emily shrugged, hoping JJ wouldn't see through her lie.
JJ just smiled and winked at Emily, "Nice one Em,"
"Shut up Jayje," Emily laughed back, and for that small moment, everything felt okay again.
A few days later Emily was seated in the waiting room of her local doctors. This first appointment was going to be the worst she could tell, they would ask her about who the father was, and she would have to pretend she didn't know.
As she waited, she recalled the moment she told her team about it. Morgan had actually fallen off his chair, Rossi's mouth had fallen open, Hotch had given a slight smile at the news, Reid had given a look of surprise and Garcia looked like someone told her Christmas came early.
"Oh my gosh! This is incredible another BAU baby!" She had clapped her hands excitedly, relishing in the idea of another child to spoil.
It had made Emily happy to know that her team had her back. It was comforting.
