Spike Gets Spiked
Spike and Rose were getting closer together. Ellen noticed Spike and Rose spending all their time together and she knew they were in love. Spike had tripled in size and his plates started to grow. Spike looked at his spikes on his tail which had dark rings on them indicating his age. Rose also noticed the plates growing on her back.
Spike was now the length of a human arm and Rose was about half the size of Spike. Tibby and Ann were happy for the new couple. Spike and Rose were eating breakfast when Spike said "Rose, you are the most beautiful spiketail in the world. Will you mate with me?" Blood rushed into Spike's plates turning them red. Rose saw Spike's display and responded the same.
After eating breakfast Rose lay on her side with her plates pointed away from Spike. Spike mounted Rose and Rose moaned loudly. Ben, Ivy, Ellen and Dan saw Spike and Rose mating and were happy they would soon be grandparents.
Over the next few days Rose was having morning sickness, headaches and her appetite increased. Ellen and Ivy knew Rose was expecting from her symptoms. Ellen said "Rose, you're expecting." Rose looked at her mom and said "How did you find out?" Ellen said "I showed the same signs you're showing right now when I was pregnant with you."
Rose found Spike playing with his friends and waited for the right time to tell Spike they were expecting. Littlefoot and Ali saw Rose was excited and waited for Rose to say the news. Littlefoot said "Looks like Spike will be a dad."
Rose kissed Spike and said "Spike, you will be a good dad." Spike said "We are having a baby." Rose replied "We're not having a baby. We're having two." Rose and Spike left to build a nest. They found a spot to build the nest near some trees and Rose dug a hole for the nest. Spike found some pebbles to line the bottom of the nest. Spike and Rose spread the pebbles evenly on the bottom of the nest and the nest was ready for Rose to lay the eggs.
Rose bent her hind legs and laid the eggs. Spike watched at Rose laid the tennis ball sized eggs. Spike and Rose looked at the nest with the two eggs on the pebbles. Ellen said "Now the hard part is over dear."
Dan kissed Rose and said "You and Spike will be great parents." Spike said "So you are Tibby's dad." Dan said "After you came with our herd and I saw you and Tibby were friends I decided to have another baby with Ellen since I wasn't sure of Tibby's gender."
Littlefoot and Ali walked by Rose's nest and were happy Spike would be a dad. Ali and Littlefoot wanted another nest and mated as Spike, Rose and the kids watched. Opal, Pinky, the twins Jeff and Phil and the triplets Ann, Amy and Amanda were happy they would soon have more brothers and sisters.
A few weeks later Ali laid the eggs and the family watched as four eggs were laid. Jeff and Phil asked "Daddy is it normal to have so many girls and we are the only boys?" Littlefoot answered "The reason you have so many sisters is because we were so young when we had your oldest sister Opal. As we get older you will have more brothers and fewer sisters."
Spike and Rose were excited the eggs would soon hatch. Tibby, Ann and their parents gathered around the nest as cracks appeared. A green head popped out of the egg as the egg rolled over and the baby kicked its way out of the egg. Spike licked his daughter "I will name you Kaila." Kaila squeaked showing she liked the name. The other egg started to hatch and an orange leg broke through the egg. After the egg fell off Rose licked her daughter "I will name you Amber." Amber squeaked as Rose licked her.
A month later in the middle of the night Ali and Littlefoot didn't go to sleep because the eggs were ready to hatch. Cracks appeared on the eggs and two babies were jet black. They were two girls Littlefoot named one Shadow and Ali named the other Inky. The other two eggs hatched a little later with both babies looking like Grandma and Grandpa. Littlefoot named the boy Zac and Ali named the girl Mary.
The new babies were shown to the Great Valley and everyone said how cute they were. Kaila and Amber liked playing with Opal and her brothers and sisters. Tibby and Ann looked at the kids playing together and they also wanted to have kids. Tibby and Ann found a quiet spot where they mated. Ann said "Tibby, I'm pregnant."
A few days later Ann felt heavier she looked at her tail and confirmed she was having a baby. Ann found Spike and Rose eating breakfast with the girls and Ann said "Spike, you're an uncle." Spike smiled after hearing the news. Kaila and Amber looked at Ann's tail and said "Cousin." Ann said "That's right the baby will be your cousin."
Ann built her nest next to Rose's nest because she wanted her nest to be next to her brother. Tibby said "Dad told me that when I hatched he thought I was a girl." Spike said "I can see how everyone can think you were a girl. You have a little pink in your skin and your voice sounds like a girl."
Spike said "Tibby the first time I met you and you said that you loved me I thought you were gay." Tibby said "If Tibby were gay Tibby would have been killed. Mom would have had another baby to replace Tibby."
Ann was spending more time around the nest as she felt the egg was ready to be laid. Spike, Tibby and the girls joined Ann as she prepared to lay the egg. Ann bent her hind legs as the egg landed in the nest. Ann and Tibby looked at the egg and were excited about becoming parents. Tibby said "It is weird that my little sister had babies before Tibby."
A month later the spiketails gathered around the nest as Ann and Tibby's egg was about to hatch. The egg started to move as cracks appeared. A green head popped out of the egg before the baby rolled onto its back and kicked away the rest of the egg. Tibby and Ann looked at the green girl that hatched. Ann looked at their daughter and named her Jade.
Kaila and Amber played with their cousin Jade. The girls played hide and seek around Auntie Ducky. Ducky licked the spiketail girls and waited for the day she would have kids of her own.
