Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated in a while... so here you go!
"Come on Arthur I think we did enough." Amelia whined as she looked at the nice looking living room as she continued to avoid looking at Arthur since of the whole dear thing. Arthur rubbed his temples to calm himself down so he wouldn't yell about the American being a lazy "Fine, now if I remember correctly, you promised something after we finished up cleaning the living room" he commented on as he glanced at her side profile as her cascading curls made her face even more beautiful… not only that but recalling Alfred's face… it felt weird to know that Alfred was in fact her since looking at her face looked nothing like his. "Oh yeah" Amelia snapped her fingers as if she got an idea "That's right, I forgot that I was gonna cook something for you" she said before going into the kitchen "Just make yourself comfortable, and I'll be done in a jiffy!" she told him, which he they sat down on the couch and crossed his legs in a proper matter before getting the remote from the coffee table and turning the tv on, which turned onto Jeopardy. Keeping on the channel, he watched the show and answered the questions; he thought that America was probably getting some kind of tv dinner out. However, that idea was shot down since a: he didn't hear the microwave going off and b: it took longer than a jiffy even though it was already an invalid time period that could go across any time spend if you really thought about.
After an hour passed, and the final Jeopardy question was being shown Amelia called out to Arthur to come into the kitchen. After getting into the show, Arthur groaned as he got up from the couch and went to the kitchen. However, during this time, the whole apartment was silent except for Alex Trebek asked for a song take could have interchangeable pronouns. "God Save the Queen" the two of them said, though America mumbled it under her breath. "What is God Save the Queen/ King; yes that is correct you wagered 12,000 which makes you end up with…." Alex Trebek's voice grew silent as Arthur asked Amelia a very simple question "What did you just say Amelia?" he looked at the back where she laid silent for a while "Oh nothing just hurt my finger and cursed under my breath, that's all" she said without any emotions which threw the red card up in Arthur's mind "They let me patch it u—"he got interrupted by America's booming voice "No that's alright! Ahahaha—man England you gotta stop worrying about me. I'm all grown up and take care of my own problems!" which made him scold at her "You know it isn't right for a lady to make a fuss about something so stupid like knowing a Jeopardy question"
"I'm not making a fuss about it! I just hurt my finger that's all"
"Oh really, we last time I checked, every time someone is lying they make up a stupid alibi that doesn't work in their favor. Game set and match" he said with a prideful smile on his face
"Well, maybe I am making a big deal about it, and besides Jeopardy is useless knowledge that I could care less about"
"So what you're saying is that you care about it already?"
"What?—no wait, I didn't say that. Goddammit Arthur you know what I mean" she said bitterly since she hated when he would go grammar nazi on her and correct what she was saying.
So this fight seemed like it had no end, and being the gentleman he was, Arthur gracefully let Amelia win this fight again even though she hated the fact that he was actually doing this for her and also hated the idea that she won't be able to get a glimpse of his pride and competitive nature since it would go against his gentleman code even if it doesn't exist anymore. Before shaking off those ideas and questions in her mind, she took out the two New York Strips she was cooking in her indoor George Foreman onto two separate plates before going to a pot on the stove and scooping out some insta-mash on both plates before laying one in front of Arthur and then the other across from him. She then went to the fridge to pull out a can of Coca-Cola and a bottle of water for the other. Placing them down on the table, Amelia then sat herself done as Arthur commented "Wow, this meal looks really good America" as he looked at it with disbelief since he thought that she would make a quick tv dinner or even order out. However, America didn't thank the older nation for the compliment instant she just started to eat the meal she prepared and still quiet for the most part as the two ate. Until the silence become to deafening that Arthur took of his slip of his water and looked at Amelia "Alright, I give in, why are you so quiet America, it's unlike you" he said before Amelia looked up at her meal "I'm really sorry… I just never showed anyone me, so it's pretty hard to be myself around you"
"But you are yourself all the time. You may be annoying and get over excited for most things…but what I'm tr—"he was interrupted by Amelia banging her hand on the table "Goddammit Arthur, I'm really sorry that I can't get use to you knowing about my gender. Hell you just learned I was woman only a couple of hours ago!"
"Settle down America I didn't mean to upset you"
"Oh of course you don't, but you say that every time you do upset me. It's getting old" She told him as she got up from her chair "I'm going to my room, you know where the door is to the hallway" she added before stomping to her room like a child. "…So that's why I feel so distant from America than ever before… she built herself a fort but I destroyed one of the walls to let myself in. I have to find a way to make her trust me again." Arthur thought to himself before realizing that most of his thoughts were about America strange new behavior. Pushing that to the back of his head he decided to wrap up his dinner she made for him and wrapped up her dinner and put it into the fridge for her. He then saw a motto pad on her fridge and wrote her something before leaving the other's home.
Once Amelia heard the front door close, she poked her head out of her room's door before going into the kitchen to see the note on the fridge:
Dear Amelia-
I'm so sorry that I upset you during dinner. I put away your leftovers for you since you probably would like to finish your meal. Anyway, I if you're not still mad at me tomorrow, I wish to make it up to you. However, I really want you to dress up nicely since I have a good place in mind, so I'll—
After reading a most of the note, Amelia just crumbled the note and threw it out since she was so sick of seeing and hearing him being so polite to her. Going to the freezer, she pulled out a gallon of rocky road ice cream. Then pulling out a spoon from one of the drawers, she went into the living room and plopped herself down on the couch before turning on the tv and eating the ice cream.
Once Amelia calmed down after half of the tub of ice cream was finished, she decided to take up Arthur's offer for dinner, since he was paying for it. Getting her phone from the coffee table, she sent a text to Arthur since she really didn't want to pass up this offer:
Hey-
I guess I'm in for dinners tomorrow, just tell me where we're going, k?
-Amelia
It was a while before Arthur texted back to her :
Oh well… I didn't except you to respond to my offer so quickly since you were so mad at me. How about we go to that tavern place near Central Park oh what is the name of the place….
Amelia googled taverns near Central Park and only found one that fit the description on a place to dress up a little more elegantly.
I guess the place is called 'Tavern on the Green'?
Quickly a message came from Arthur:
Yeah, that's the place. I'll make the reservations for 8 o'clock and I'll pick you up around a quarter to 8. Is that good for you?
Amelia froze for a while, so this is it. She was basically going on a date with Arthur. She didn't know actually what she was feeling right now; it was a mixture of fear because of being on a date with Arthur and butterflies in her stomach because of the same exact reason. By then, Arthur sent her messages asking if she was alright and if she wanted him to cancel the whole thing. However, picking up her phone she wrote a three letter word and sent it to Arthur without looking back at her actions.
Yes
