Chapter 4: Angel Island

The group had landed on Angel Island and began to search around for any signs of Starline or his accomplices.

Blaze holds her hand to her head. "Strange. I can sense the Master Emerald's energy."

Tangle goes over feeling her head. "Does that mean we're close?"

"It means someone is near it ready to steal it."

Whisper darts off to find the alter.

"Whisper, wait!" She takes off after the wolf.

Tangle follows behind them using some of her air propulsion to add extra distance.

Tails scratches his head. "Did Tangle just push herself with air?"

A few minutes later, Whisper found herself at the shrine of the Master Emerald looking concerned.

Blaze comes up behind her seeing what she say. "Knuckles?"

The echidna was laying unconscious all bruised and beaten.

"Who could've done this to him?"

Whisper sniffs the air around her. "Skunk musk…"

Tangle runs up panting from exhaustion. "Even with the power of air I lose my breath. What happened here?"

Before they could say anything, the skunk brothers leaped out from the other side of the altar.

"It's gonna get tough…"

"…prepare to fumble."

"You're next to fall before Rough Tumble!"

The girls just stare at them unamused.

"That one worked better in our heads."

"No kidding."

Blaze hands Knuckles off to Tangle. "Take him back to Tails to get help. Whisper and I got this."

Tangle holds Knuckles' arm over her shoulder. "Stay safe, Blaze." She runs off with Knuckles.

Whisper takes aim with her wispon firing a pink spike ball at the skunk brothers.

Rough leaps up out of the way as Tumble swings at the wolf.

Blaze swoops under him planting her heel into his stomach.

"Oof! You annoying little…" Tumble grabs her by her tail. "The only good thing about not having a tail is that no one can do this to me."

Whisper strikes Tumble with her blue hammer causing him to release Blaze.

Blaze smiles at her. "Thank you, Whisper."

"No problem."

Rough grabs her wispon trying to take it from her. "Give me that thing! It's not fair for you to have this against us!"

Blaze fires her flames at Rough setting his tail on fire.

"Ahhh! My tail's on fire!" He rolls on the ground trying to put it out.

Tumble tries to help his brother put it out. "Make that two good things about not having a tail."

"Shut up and put it out!"

Whisper then blast both of the Skunk brothers off the altar with her orange rocket.

"Nice work, Whisper." Blaze holds her hand out to the wolf expecting a high five.

Whisper just fixes her mask as she goes over to check on Rough and Tumble.

"Something bothering you?" She looks over the edge of the alter seeing both Skunk brothers gone. "Where'd they go?"

Before they could formulate an answer, a portal opens beneath the two sending them to an unknown location.

Tangle runs back up to the alter. "Tails has Knuckles taken care of. He'll be back as soon as… Blaze? Whisper?" She looks around for them. "Where'd they go?"

Dr. Starline chuckles Hidden among the trees. "Don't worry, little lemur. You'll be joining your friends soon enough." He warps away from the island.
