Day 4

Louie's pov

It's sorta hard to wake up, but I sit up anyways due to now wanting to be woken up harshly.

I yawn and reach for my overalls again.

They kinda have dirt on the butt part, but it's ok because everyone is re-wearing first day jeans or overalls and they are sorta dirty.

I put those on and grab my soda.

I take a drink so I don't have a bad taste in my mouth, then I head downstairs.

The breakfast today is biscuits, eggs, and sausage.

I take a biscuit and sit down to eat.

Manny is sitting at our table and complaining about yesterday's work.

I go over to the coffee station.

"Aww man. The coffee thing you switch up or down to make the coffee pour out is stuck down! I better do something about it." I say to myself.

I flip the switch up slightly burning myself and place my coffee cup under the thing that pour out before coffee gets in the floor.

I take my coffee cup away and panic trying to get the switch back how it was.

"Why didn't it work to flip it up?" I wonder aloud.

I then see I was simply supposed to push my coffee cup against the lever and it was flipped down for a reason.

I mentally scold myself and I fix my coffee the way I like it despite being downstairs.

I then walk back over to my table.

"Manny, you will not believe how stupid I just was." I laugh.

"What did you do?" Manny grins.

I explain about the coffee lever that was just a push but I was pulling it up and making a mess and such.

Manny goes crazy laughing.

"I'm gonna remember that." Ray tells me.

I snap and stomp my foot playfully.

I grins and go upstairs to find Dewey.

I haven't really seen him this morning except when he was entering the restroom.

I go upstairs to our room and don't see him.

I make sure to grab a bag of candy and pack my work bag though before heading into the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair.

I enter and turn on the sink water.

I start to put toothpaste on my toothbrush before I hear some kind of gagging noise.

Gross!

I can't stand that stuff.

I exit the bathroom for a minute before re-entering and shrugging.

Maybe it was my imagination.

I am tired.

I then hear crying.

Great.

"Hey, this is just Louie. Who is in here?" I blurt out.

Probably not the best choice of words.

"Louie. Thank God. It's Dewey." I hear and I gasp.

"Are you ok, brother?" I ask him getting very worried.

"Not really. I'll be fine though. Don't tell anyone." Dewey replies.

"I think you need to at least get a pill or something." I point out.

"No! I'll get sent home. Please don't tell." He begs.

He exits the bathroom stale looking absolutely horrible.

My eyes tear up seeing him look like this.

"You are so pale! You are shaking! You literally just puked! You have to go to the nurse." I urge him.

"I can't. I don't know what's wrong. I do this all the time, Lou. It's no big deal." Dewey shrugs and goes to wash his mouth out.

"That's a huge problem." I widen my eyes.

"I know. Please just let's me handle this and don't tell anyone. I'll get back to this when I get home, ok?" Dewey looks over to me.

"Wow. There is no right thing to do for this situation. You are my brother and can deal with your own problems, so I guess I will keep this secret for now. Your trust is important to me. If it gets worse, I'm telling someone. Deal?" I hold out my hand.

Dewey washes his hands and then dries them before shaking mine.

I instead pull him into a hug though.

"Be careful. I can't lose you." I whisper.

"You are sometimes too affectionate sometimes, Lou. I'll be fine. I'm tough." He playfully punches my shoulder.

I smile and we walk downstairs together.

"Don't run into Uncle Donald. He will send you to the nurse immediately. And text me if you get sick again." I demand.

"Ok dad." Dewey jokes.

He then hugs me once more and goes to find his group.

"Hey Uncle Donald! How has your day been?" I greet him.

"Hello Louie. I've gotten hurt so many times on the worksite. I'm surprised I haven't had to get a surgery done." Uncle Donald sighs.

"Aww. I'm sorry. I hope today is better. I've barely been doing anything at my worksite." I tell him.

"Well at least Dewey has had a perfect time." Uncle Donald sighs.

I nod and nervously laugh.

I depart from Uncle Donald and enter the bus.

I sit by Stephanie and Willa again.

"Ugh. I can't even look at another piece of insulation!" I groan.

"Maybe you can do the ceilings with us. That's sorta fun. If you aren't holding it up that is." Stephanie jokes.

I laugh.

"Have you seen the pictures on Cluster? You have taken over pretty much all our pictures." I tell Stephanie.

"Really? I don't have that app on my phone." Stephanie shrugs.

I hand her and Willa my phone to look at the pictures.

They laugh and look at all the pictures.

"I kinda am in all of them." Stephanie laughs.

We get to the worksite and get inside.

Of course it is raining again.

Inside is hotter than outside, but inside there is no rain.

I don't know which I prefer.

"Louie, can you go work with G's team in the back room?" Mr. Jeff asks me.

"Sure!" I agree.

That's where Stephanie, Willa, Clint, and Trena are working.

Trena was one of my friends back in elementary school.

Our youth group separated by gender now so I lost all my opposite gender friends.

It's really unfair.

"Hey Louie! We get to take down all these pieces of ceiling! They need to be facing the other way." G informs me.

"Aw man." I frown.

"Hey, at least it's not insulation!" Stephanie jokes.

"Everyone! Come to the main room!" We hear Alex shout.

We all shrug and go to the main room.

"We are going to play a game throughout today!" Alex announces.

"What kind of game?" Dolly asks.

"So everybody starts with one dot the color of your team. There will be a word you can't say and if you say it, you have to hand a teammate your dot. You can only get a dot from your original team." Alex explains.

"Well hopefully no one says words like $*!+ anyways." Dolly cusses.

Everyone glares at him.

"Inappropriate language will cause you to have someone go ahead and take your dot." Alex threatens him.

Dolly sighs dramatically and nods.

"Why would she use an example of a cuss word?" I mutter.

Clint shrugs.

"Dolly is interesting. him being my brother and all. He's great once you get to know him though." Abby, Dolly's sister tells us.

"I sure hope so." I laugh.

"Now here are your dots. The word you can't say for the first hour, is ceiling." Alex says.

We all go back into rooms but Clint stays outside.

"Hey Clint, are you working on the ceiling again today? It was awesome how you did it all by yourself yesterday!" I exclaim.

Clint starts to smirk.

"What? I just asked if you were doing the ceiling." I frown.

"Someone come get Louie's dot!" Clint shouts.

Some girl comes over and grabs it talking about being competitive.

"No!" I shout and walk outside for a second before coming back in.

I go and grab a soda.

"Oh Louie, if you drink that, drink double the water!" Alex reminds me.

I come up with a plot.

"I'm not gonna drink water unless you give me a dot." I smirk.

"What?! That's a horrible idea!" The competitive girl points out.

"Here you can have mine. Ceiling. I don't like these games." Some person hands me their's.

Aw man.

Now I have to drink water and not soda.

I go into G's room with Clint and we get to work together taking the ceiling pieces down.

He drills and I hold the piece to make sure it doesn't fall as he's taking the screws out.

When Clint and G finally start measuring for a piece to actually go back up on the ceiling, Stephanie, Willa, Trena, and I start talking.

"Have you seen the crazy spam mail we've been getting? Our friend, Sam, has been getting the craziest things. He got thousands of notecards with the word, 'spam' written on it." Stephanie laughs.

I raise my hand.

"Sam and I have kinda been in a spam war." I shrug.

We all laugh and continue talking about spam mail.

"Y'all, I got this note saying, 'have you seen this man?' with an actual picture attached of a man with a wheel barrel and a straw hat." Stephanie tells us.

"Who would carry around pictures of someone?" I roll my eyes smiling.

"I thought it was Sam. When I showed her though, she fell on the floor laughing. It wasn't her. We've been getting the craziest spam mail." Stephanie explains.

"Super crazy." I agree.

We go one talking all day about silly, random stuff.

Whenever I wobble on the ladder, Trena makes sure to ask if I'm ok.

She's very caring.

When it's finally lunch time, we go outside and sit in a circle together.

"Guys, leave lunch out here and get back inside to work." Alex commands.

"Why?" I ask my circle of friends.

"The news people are here." Trena simply replies.

"Really?!" Stephanie asks.

"Yeah. They are parked right there. We need to hurry while they get set up." Trena informs us.

"I can't believe the news people are here!" I exclaim fixing my hair.

"Your hair looks better like that. We all need work gloves and goggles though. If we don't have those, they will cut the parts out because of some kind of laws." Trena hands us goggles and gloves.

"These come off right after this though." I tell them being barley able to see or feel.

"For sure. Now let's get working!" Trena exclaims.

We try and cut a piece of ceiling to fit a certain area while the people are filming us.

They then call for G to kinda tour them around the house.

He just can't say chalkline now.

That's our new word.

We keep working because other people are going around and filming.

We try and put the piece of ceiling up, but it doesn't fit.

It's embarrassing getting filmed like that.

G finally comes back.

"Hey G! How did it go?" Clint asks.

"I don't know. I kinda freaked out. I was all like, ceiling! Floor!" G jokes.

"The important thing is talking about God which you did, right?" I check with him.

"Yes. For sure. I don't even really remember what I said." G admits.

I go and talk to the news person while one person sands off a little bit of our piece of ceiling.

I talk to him about our fire story and how God helped us through that.

It will be great for my evangelism report!

The news people leave after filming the home owner.

My small group finally goes back out to eat.

"Ahh! You said it! Hand me your dot!" I randomly hear Stephanie shout.

Trena all of a sudden gets this look of rage and starts crumbling up her dot which Willa narrates.

Trena cusses and slams her water bottle into the trashcan which explodes with dust.

She then stomps inside to shout and punch something.

"Woah. What happened?" I freak out.

"It's just a game." Willa points out.

"Trena has some anger issues. She will be fine in a few minutes though." Stephanie shrugs.

"Ok." I nod, a bit worried about Trena.

We go back inside and finish working.

When Mr. Jeff tells us to clean up, I grab a broom and so does Stephanie.

"Have you seen the video where the kid is hoping around on a broomstick in their backyard dressed like Harry Potter? They edited it to make it look like they were flying." Stephanie hops around with a broom.

We all laugh as I start twirling my broom behind my back and such doing ninja moves.

"Where did you learn that?!" Stephanie gasps.

"At dance a little. We have this friend that is like a super ninja also." I grin.

I accidentally break my broom when sweeping.

"Woah. You have like super strength or something." Stephanie jokes.

When we pack up to leave, Clint and Trena have to go on their team's bus so we depart from them.

Willa sits in the very back of the bus while I sit a row ahead of the beside Stephanie again.

"Want candy?" I offer.

Stephanie takes some, thanks me, then gets on her phone.

"Hey Louie, do you have a phone?" Stephanie asks me.

What?!

Who am I to get asked this?!

"No duh." I smirk.

"Wanna trade phone numbers?" Stephanie offers.

"Sure." I agree.

We type our numbers into each other's phones and then hand them back.

"Cool." I smile.

We talk the rest of the way back till we get to the church.

There are two shower lines this time.

They actually bring in Bahama Bucks!

The best snow cones ever!

There is a trailer.

I decide to get a snow cone after I shower.

We wait a while till I finally get to the last shower line.

A confused guy that I know from another church comes over.

"This isn't where you get in line!" One person yells.

"Where are the snow cones?" The confused person asks.

I laugh and reply, "The first shower line is over by the covering. The snow cones are to the right. If they start serving snow cones in the showers though, let me know."

He laughs and walks off.

"Louie, that was rude." Alex frowns.

"I always mess around with my friends." I respond.

"Well he isn't your friend." Alex scoffs.

He doesn't know that!

That guy actually is my friend!

I don't reply because it's time for me to go into the shower.

After the shower, I get a snow cone and go up to the room.

I was invited to play Wii games with some of the girls, so I offer for Ray to come.

He doesn't wanna come, but when someone asks directly after me, Ray goes right with them.

Ouch.

I walk upstairs and just watch them play the video games.

I didn't know how to play this certain one.

I eat dinner after that, go to worship, and drag through E-team time.

It lasted an hour!

It's supposed to be 10 minutes!

It's unfair.

I go back upstairs and actually play the Wii game this time.

It's really fun until it's bedtime.

Ugh.

I go back to my room and finish getting ready for bed.

"There you are Lou!" Dewey pounces on me.

"You feeling better?" I whisper.

"Yeah. I only got sick last night and this morning. I think it was the food." Dewey sticks his tongue out in disgust.

"That's good I guess. The news people came to my worksite! Today was awesome without the news!" I exclaim.

"That's great! Let's go to sleep so we can get to tomorrow faster!" Dewey pulls the covers over him.

Alex turns the lights off.

"Yeah. Last night here. Don't rush time." I mumble.

A/N

Hey y'all! Sorry this is late again. I had dance today. I have church and dance tomorrow, so the last chapter may come out the next day or so. Sorry if it ends up being over the weekend. Lot's of names and genders were changed to fit this story as I've said before. Some stayed the same. It's hard to remember all these names and changed genders cuz you are thinking about your actual experience when you write this. I forgot I was writing for Louie and not me for a second! It's like re-living your experience when you write like this. Shoutout to Cartoonlover422 (I hope I got the numbers right!) and Sassafrazgecko for always reviewing and for being awesome friends to just pm and talk to! Even if just through the internet. There are a couple others, but those are the ones I'm gonna shoutout to right now for this story. Please review! Thanks for reading!
