Chapter 4

"You're right, lets go see my mom and dad."

As we walk up to the apartment door i hear Dylan screaming and Sophie giggling excitedly. I look over at Percy to see if i need to knock but he just walks in and yells, "Mom, Paul i'm home."

A woman who has longish brown hair and the kindest blue eyes that i've ever seen come running over and a man with salt and pepper hair following behind her with Dylan hanging around his neck and Sophie around his leg.

"Hey mom, Paul, this is Annabeth and i can see you've met Sophie." Percy said with a small smile. "Annabeth, this is my mom Sally, and my stepdad Paul."

I looked at him slightly confused "You never told me that Paul was you stepdad. Why is that?

"That is because he has been more of a father to me that my own father was so i never thought of him as anything other that my dad." He replied honestly.

"Aww Percy i never knew you thought of me that way, you really do love me." Paul said with a cheesy smile on his face, he looked just like Percy.

"Oh Paul, you knew that Percy loved you, you are truly his father." Sally laughed

"Ya Paul, i do love you and it wasn't so you would give me better grades in english, cause we all know that that never happened." Percy said laughing.

All I do is look at Percy, Sally, and Paul confused. Thats when Dylan said, "Grandpa was daddy's teacher."

"When i was in middle school my mom met Paul and started dating and, he got me into my high school. They got married when I was in 9th grade. He was my english teacher for three years." Percy explains.

"And now that makes so much more sense, but why are we still standing in your hallway?" I question.

"Good question Annabeth, how about the boys take the little children into the family room and we will go get lunch ready." Sally told us.

"That sounds perfect, and Percy don't lose my daughter, ok?" I said as i gave Percy a pointed look.

"Hey I did raise my own son just fine." He defended.

"You had help from you mother Perce." Sally laughed.

"Shhh, that a secret." He whispers

We all start to laugh, even the kids. Then we all go to our designated positions, Sally and i head into the kitchen i'm cooking the chicken on the stove, while Sally is mixing cookies, that just so happen to be blue.

"Hey Sally, why are the cookies blue?" I asked her.

"Paul had once said that there was no such thing as blue food, and Percy and I didn't agree with him, so i went out of my way to find and make blue food, blue cake, blue pizza, blue sodas, and most of all Percy's favorite blue chocolate chip cookies." Sally smiled.

I Laughed, "so tell me about what Percy was like as a child."

When lunch was finished

"Children lunch is ready!" Sally yelled into the family room.

All four of them came running into the dining room with Dylan and Sophie in the lead. Paul and Sally sat at the heads of the table with Sophie sitting next to Sally and Dylan sitting next to Paul. Percy and I sat next to each other with me next to Sally and Percy next to Paul.

We had nice lunch conversation asking the kids about pre-k, Percy talking about his work and the animals he works with, and i talk about my work, which the past three years has taken a back seat to Sophie, and we just get to know each other. That is when Sally asked what we were planning on doing for the holidays.

"Well we have a very exciting holiday season ahead of us, we want to spend christmas together and of course with you guys and my parents who will be coming into town." I explained.

Percy then said, "then for New Years we were kinda thinking about getting married."

"Wait did we just hear you right? Did you just say that you are going to get married in New Years." Paul asked completely shocked.

"Ya we know it sounds completely insane but, we love each other and it will be a new year so lets start it together as a family with Dylan and Sophie, we don't care what anyone thinks we only care about what we think and what the kids think." Percy told them, they didn't look upset or anything they looked proud and Dylan and Sophie sat oblivious across the table like nothing was going on. I still don't understand how they can do that.

"Good, Percy that is all we ever wanted for you was to do what made you happy and nobody else, well except for Dylan, and we can tell the Annabeth is good with children considering how well behaved Sophie is being. Dylan needs a mother in his life and not just his aunts and grandmother. We are so proud of you, and we are so glad that you and Sophie will be apart of our family." Sally said smiling proudly at us.

For the next few hours we sat around eating blue cookies just talking like a family while the kids played. Soon the kids came over to me and Percy and much to our surprise Dylan came and sat on my lap and Sophie sat on Percy's and they started to fall asleep, so we took that as our cue to head back to Percy's place, where we would tell the kids about us getting married.

"Bye you two and good luck." Sally said giving us each a kiss on the cheek along with the kids. Paul gave me a kiss on the cheek to and patted Percy on the back since we were holding Sophie and Dylan.

"Bye, it was wonderful to meet you, and thank you, for everything." I smiled.

"It was nothing you will be our daughter at the end of the year anyway."

"Bye mom, Paul we need to get these little ones home before they wake up, love you." Percy called as we left the apartment.

"Love you too," they called back.

Once we were in the elevator i looked over at Percy and kissed him, and said, "That was fun and that is a better reaction than we will get from my parents, who are extremely overprotective after what happened, then don't get me started on how Thalia, Piper, Jason and everyone else will react. Speaking of which we have to tell them soon so we can start preparations for the wedding and we need to find a new house that we can move into by the end of the year," I kept rambling until i felt someones lips on mine that shut me right up.

"Hey, love, you need to chill we are going to take this one step at a time. Okay?" Percy said smiling at me.

"Okay," i told him as i gave him a peck on the lips.

Sorry this is like later than i thought it would be, i'll try to post this story on sunday night im saying that now and please feel free to remind me because with school i might forget and it will be a little late. anyway did you like it? hate it? what? And how do you think Sophie and Dylan will react and how will the chases react and all the friends to the news. Feel free to give me some ideas i'm open to anything.
