There weren't very many people in Judy's life that were more stubborn than she was. In fact, she could count them on one paw. And if there was ever an argument, especially one where she knew she was right-which she usually was- she almost always won. That was, until now.

"We don't need the papers Nick, they're all fine." Judy eyed the files on the desk and glared. If he thought she wasn't going to get mad at this then he had another thing coming. She had handpicked these officers and was a little offended that he had gone ahead and looked them up. Usually he took what she said and didn't question it. "I thought I told you that."

"Oh you did," Nick waved a hand in dismissal, "and I know you're happy with them, but I still wanna' check em' out." He smiled at her, leaning on the arm rest of his chair, "that ok?" His eyes stared green at her from underneath amber fur and dark, long lashes. Lashes she had been jealous of (and still was) when she had first noticed them.

She puffed in exasperation and swiveled in her chair so that she was facing her desk. Frustration burned under her skin. Nick was the only mammal she knew who could beat her in an argument and it was driving her insane. "Yes." she grumbled, grinding out the word between her teeth.

She heard the rustling of clothes and felt a weight slide on top of her head. Nick put his chin solidly in place between her ears. "Carrots ," he said, elongating the word so it almost sounded as if he were talking to a child. He flicked her ears with his paw, "I'm just trying to be thorough, you know that."

She felt his muscles tense and shift before he even spoke, his mouth moving to shape the words, "are you ok?" He had noticed her anger and she instantly felt guilty. It wasn't his fault she had issues even if they were sort of about him, he didn't know that. She nodded, she needed to push her frustration down for now and try and figure it out later, it wasn't doing either one of them any good.

She could feel the muscles move again as he smiled and "hmmed" in response.

Nick

Nick grabbed the phone from her hand, shaking his head violently. They had been on the road for an hour and there was no way, absolutely no way he was listening to her music for another second. It was all a mix of pop and cheesy empowerment songs that were so rudimentary he was about to pull his fur out. "Nick!" "No, nuh uh, I'm literally crying this is so bad." He tossed her phone in the back seat where, he would make sure it would stay for the rest of the ride.

Judy raised an eyebrow and moved to retrieve the offending object but his arm shot out, blocking her way. "Don't even think about it," he gave her a sideways glance, straying from the road for only a second before looking back. "You'll have to wait until we get there, Fluff."

"But-", "no way." Judy crossed her arms and sighed, "fine."

Thank God, Nick smirked to himself, "driver controls the music, dear, and I'm the driver." He exaggerated the word with a raise of his eyebrows, laughing as she glared, obviously regretting making that little rule.

"So," he continued," what's the plan for when we get to our new HQ?" Judy noticeably perked up, her ears standing up. "Bogo just said we would be setting up today, pretty routine." Nick nodded.

An hour later and Judy had her phone back and Nick had accepted there was no controlling her and resigned himself to a ride of torture and possible (he hadn't decided yet) suicidal thoughts. Thankfully, the music had stopped for now.

"Do you have the snacks?" Judy looked up from her phone and then back down, her eyes scanning the screen as she reached her hand in front of her, rifling through the bag. "Uh yea," she tossed a granola bar over absent mindedly, still looking at her phone. Nick grunted his thanks, tearing the wrapper with his teeth and spitting the plastic into the cup holder before biting off a large chunk. Fully expecting a complaint he raised an eyebrow when, instead of being met with a lecture about how spitting was gross, he was simply left with silence. He glanced sideways at his partner and found her fully engrossed in whatever was on the small display in her hand. And though he had no qualms about bothering her with a bombardment of annoying questions- nor had he ever- her face did not invite his sort of annoyances.

Instead, he entertained himself with what he thought she might be looking at. Maybe a picture of a very muscular and knightly looking rabbit flexing for an equally medieval damsel in distress. But he discarded this, Judy had no interest in being saved, so it would be almost insulting for him to consider it, and it only made since that what she looked at reflected what she was. So he imagined that she was the knight and he guessed she was saving the knight? Only he was now in a dress. This, he thought, made much more since. He was getting off track.

She probably wasn't looking at social media, since she never did on the job, she took calls and texts only before or after work and only looked at the tabloids when Stewart was around. And knowing that she wouldn't be seeing him for the foreseeable future - meaning however long this operation took them- she wasn't doing that.

Maybe..no. She wasn't looking at that. They were both in a car, he was right beside her and he was driving. But..her eyes were so focused and ..she wouldn't. But what if she was. And if she was there was no way he was gunna let her get away with it. He could only imagine some incredibly buff bunny wearing nothing and covered in oil while he like...did whatever rabbits thought were sexy. Maybe like, eating a carrot? Really sexily? Was that even a thing? He again pictured the scene and then tried to think of what she would think, (oh man, yea get it eat that carrot. Get. It.) He tried to subtly lean over, ever so slightly, trying to get a glimpse of what was on her phone. Not close enough. Little further, little further. He leaned eve more and- words. She was reading words. Damn it.

"..umm, what are you doing?" He bolted back into his regular sitting position and the car swerved as he scrambled with the wheel, completely dispelling any ideas he had of acting natural. "Nick! What-?"

"Sorry! sorry." He corrected the car and cleared his throat, eyes on the road. Judy had her arms splayed out in a questioning gesture and scoffed when it was returned with a simple shrug and a "so what you reading there?"

Rolling her eyes she looked back at her phone, scrolling down until she found the part she wanted. "Bogo sent an email, says we're being assigned a consultant I guess. And from the looks of it he's pretty renowned, helps the FBI with a lot of their more difficult cases. Apparently ours is involved with another one he's assisting in and he's being sent over to work with us for a bit until he gets what he needs." She opened another tab, "I've been looking him up. Pretty amazing actually." She smiled at the screen and Nick frowned. He didn't like how impressed she was, he couldn't be that great.

"Huh, well I guess we'll see when we meet him."

Judy smiled, she looked excited and he suddenly felt very unexcited about this whole trip. "I can't wait." Nick nodded and smiled over at her, but inside, he was hoping this consultant wasn't nearly as good as his credentials said he was. He smiled back. "Yea," He looked back at the road, his smile dropping as he did so, "me neither."
