Red String of Fate Chapter 4

After we finish our meal, we pay and leave.

"Ok Daisuke, here's whats happening, I'll get the fireworks, and you get the ladder. Ok?" Fuu looks in my direciton as we walk down the dirt road where all the shops are.

"Ok, I think I'll be able to find a ladder." I laugh. "How long do we have?"

"Until sundown. That's plenty of time." She smiles, she's thinking about them. The Samurai I mean.

"What do you think of the one in red? He's kinda cute isn't he? Well, I don't know, the one in blue was pretty sexy too." She's blushing really bad, and her hands are cupping her face, she's in a trance. "Well, I guess you wouldn't think either are attractive, since you're a guy and all...unless...you bat for that team?"

"Uh, no, I'm straight." I laugh. She laughs too and we stop walking.

"Ok, so meet me here at 7:30 so we can save the cute samurai." She starts laughing really hard now and she's still blushing. "But first, I think we should see them."

"Haha, ok."

We start walking towards the jail where they are being held. Once we get there, we sneak by the sleeping guard and find their cell. Before we get right there, we listen in on their conversation.

"You're despicable." A deeper voice says. That must be the Blue Samurai, Jin.

"You're a piece of shit." The one without a filter. The Red Samurai. I still don't know his name.

"Yet, you're the only man I wasn't able to defeat." Jin says.

"Same to you. The name's Mugen."

"Jin."

"You're still a douche bag." Mugen spits.

"Just shut up." by this time, Fuu begins to step in front of their cell.

"Hi guys, my name is Fuu, and I'm here to rescue you!" I walk out in front of the cell as well. I see the samurai shirtless, their hands tied above their heads, and they are laying on the ground, their heads closest to the cell door. I blush. They have such defined muscles. Each has a six pack and pecs. Their arms were defined with muscles too. They're strong...and sexy...

"Ok...YOU'RE going to save us? I'll just take my chances with the executioners." Mugen says.

"I don't HAVE to save you jerk!" Fuu yells.

"Hey, keep it down!" I say, grabbing Fuu's shoulder.

"Listen, we're going to get you guys out of here, don't worry." She says.

"Thank you, but it's not necessary." Jin says, closing his eyes.

"Hey, who's there!" A guard yells.

"Shit, we gotto go!" I say as I grab Fuu's kimono and run. I look back and see Jin staring at me. Why did he tell me his name the other day? The guard chases after us for a while, but ultimately gives up.

"Oh god, they are so cute!" Fuu yells once we were away. "Ok. let's go get our things."

(later)

Ok, it's 7:30, where is she? I stand waiting in the area that Fuu told me to meet her. I can't believe I'm actually doing this.

"Daisuke!" I look to my left and Fuu is running towards me. "I got them! I got the fireworks!" With a huge grin on her face, she reaches me and looks at the ladder I'd gotten about 4 hours prior. "Nice, that should be tall enough!" She's so excited, you can really tell she wants to save these samurai.

"Let's head out." I say as we turn around to start walking towards the execution lawn.

"Vagrant Mugen. Vagrant and Ronin Jin. You are here today to be executed for the attempted murder of Tomonoshin Shibui. Any last words?" The executioner said.

"Yeah, go fuck yourself." Mugen says, his head raised slightly.

"I agree with what he said." Jin smiles, his eyes closed and his head down. They are knealing on thier knees with their hands tied behind their backs.

Fuu and I put the ladder against the barrier and begin climbing.

"Hey, I need a light!" Fuu yells, turning slightly to face the crowd that had gathered to watch the execution.

"Here!" A stranger tosses up his pipe and Fuu catches it. She puts the wick in the flame and throws the first firework over the barrier.

"Wa-what the hell?!" The guards surrounding the samurai and executioner say.

Jin opens his eyes and looks around abruptly. He looks at Mugen with a puzzled expression, and Mugen is returning the same look back. The both look up to see the executioner covering his eyes and drop his sword from the brightness of the firework. They realize this is their chance. Jin runs to the sword and turns slightly and cuts the rope off his hands. Once he's free, he throws the sword over to where Mugen is and he did the same. Jin looks around to find his swords, but he doesn't know where they are. Mugen starts punching and kicking guards that have regained their sight. One comes up from behind Jin and he elbows him in the chest and spins to knee him in the stomach, and as the guard falls, Jin breaks his neck. Mugen takes the executioners sword and starts stabbing and slicing guards. One buy one, the guards fall, by just these two men, it's truly incredible how they could do this by themselves.

"Hey! Over here, this way!" Fuu screams to them. They look up at her and follow her to a hole in the barrier. I escape and sneak into the building on the lawn and start searching. I walk down the hall and enter the first room I saw. There is nothing in here except a few barrels and some hay. I leave and go into the room next to it, and I find what I'm looking for. Once I grab them, I leave and walk back down the hall. Guards are running down a hallway and start to turn into the one I am in. I run back into the room full of barrels and hide. Once I know they are gone, I exit the building and run to find Fuu.

I slide up against a building when I find Fuu and the two samurai. I peek over the corner of the building to look at them. I don't trust these samurai, so I don't want them to see me just yet. Mugen has the executioners sword and he's pointing it at Jin. Jin is defenseless, but he is in a fighting stance.

"Hey you two! Knock it off! In exchange for me saving your lives, you have to do me a favor and that includes not killing each other!" Fuu screams at them. Mugen lowers his sword as he looks at her, a dumb expression on his face. Jin does the same, lowering his hands and looking at her.

"You guys need to help me!"

"Well what if we don't wanna?" Mugen says rudely, turning back to Jin.

"I don't care, you have to, I saved your lives." Replies Fuu.

"I understand, and we are forever in your debt, but this is more important." Jin turns back to Mugen, a cold look in his eyes.

"God. Ok. Here's how its going down. I will flip this coin and if it lands on tails, you guys have to refrain from killing each other and help me. If it's heads, you guys can slaughter each other. Got it?" Fuu pulls out a coin and gets ready to flip it.

"Whoa, no. I wanna flip it." Mugen takes the coin out of Fuu's hand and hum-chucks it straight in the air.

"...Where did it go?" Fuu says after a couple seconds of it not coming back down.

"He doesn't know the meaning of self-restraint." Jin says, closing his eyes.

"Kiss my ass." Mugen spits. It finally comes back down and hits Fuu square in the forehead.

"Ow!" She peels it off and looks at it. "I won! It's tails! You guys have to help me!" She jumps up and down excitedly.

"Great..." Mugen says as he sits down.

"Wonderful..." Jin turns around and puts his forehead on his arm and leans against a building.

"Where the hell is Daisuke? We can't leave without him." Fuu whispers.

"What?! We have to travel with another dude? Come on this sucks." Mugen stands back up and starts kicking rocks.

Jin turns around again and faces Fuu. She blushes and darts her eyes from his.

"We can't leave without my swords." I take this as my opportunity to come out. Jin and Mugen look up at me and I walk up to Jin.

"I snuck into the execution building and got these for you." I place his swords in his hands, and throw Mugen his. I look up at Jin, and he stares back. Our eyes lock, but he looks away and turns around.

"Thank you." Is all he says as he starts walking forward.

"Yeah, thanks buddy." Mugen swings his sword over his back and starts to walk as well.

"It's good to see you again Daisuke, let's go." Fuu grabs my sleeve and she tells me she got the samurai to help us on our journey. We begin our journey right then and there. We walk in the direction of the town exit, straight into the setting sun, unaware of the path that destiny chose for us.
