I can't say when the next chapter will come out, but I guess you already know that by now, seeing how irregular these are. The good thing is that I've got an outline for this story, so I've got it down. I'll try my best to find time, especially since this week was real busy. I was going back to school with tests and reading To Kill A Mockingbird (which is a really good book, btw) and especially taking the ACT this weekend for the second time. But for now, let's skip the A/N and get right into this. I hope you enjoy! (This is not my best writing for sure.)

A bit of a time skip and change of POV, sorry.

Lloyd gazed at the newest generation of future heroes in front of him. If only you were here to see this, Dad, he thought sadly. He was so proud of the young teens in front of him. His eyes moved across his new students.

First the girl with raven hair pulled back into a ponytail. She reminded him of Cole, with her strong will. She fought a dummy in the right side of the training area, her deep grey eyes focused on the task in front of her. She wore tight, dark clothing and black wristbands around her wrists.

Lloyd's gaze shifted to the titanium boy in the corner. His silver hair styled well, the young droid sat, his eyes closed. Next, the boy with chocolate-brown eyes and bright red hair that seemed to stick out in several directions practiced calmly with a pair of katanas, going through the various stances in his head..

Right next to him, a girl with brown hair let loose and cut slightly below the shoulder ran through the training course, jumping over the various obstacles with ease. Lloyd saw Kai's fire in her amber-brown eyes.

A boy somewhat younger than the rest with short dark hair and light blue eyes clumsily fought against a slightly older girl with a katana. The girl, her auburn locks pulled into a tight bun, reminding Lloyd of Jay, fought the young boy with her own weapons, instructing him

One girl that looked similar to the younger boy with black hair and pure blue eyes stood quietly, quite content with herself when inspecting the sharp blades of a shuriken.

Finally, he glanced at his own children. The older boy had blonde hair and emerald-green eyes, reminding Lloyd of what he looked like in his childhood. He had high expectations that his son would inherit his father's elemental powers. Even now, Lloyd wondered how things would play out.

Then he watched his daughter as she absently shot three-pointer basketball hoops from far away. Her striking platinum blonde, almost-white hair was illuminated by a single dark purple streak, her violet eyes focusing on the goal. Lloyd was constantly reminded of his deceased wife, Koharu, when he looked at her. Unlike Lloyd, Koharu had had no powers. When their daughter was born, Lloyd quickly assumed that the girl would have no powers, like her mother. Honestly, there was no way to tell. Carson, on the other hand, had excelled and didn't lack anything to become the next Green Ninja. He wished he could say as much about Abigail.

Their sensei had given them exercises to do: fighting, all of them with swords. For some reason, it was a great icebreaker. It gave them time to get to know each other.

Ray was fighting Carson, Raine was teaming up with Tad against Rose and Sarah, and the others stood in a circle, waiting for the floor to open up for them to fight. Deb watched Carson fight and raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Your brother really knows his stuff," she said to Abigail, who was standing next to her. Abigail chuckled. "Dad taught him from a young age. He could be a full-fledged ninja by now if it weren't for him not fully unlocking his powers yet."

"What are his powers?" Deb asked, curious. "Energy," Abigail answered. "Just like our dad. He's almost got the hang of it, actually." Deb noticed that Abigail seemed to be reluctant about saying anything else. "Do you have powers?" Deb asked.

Abigail looked at her. "I didn't mean to be harsh," Deb said. "No, it's okay," Abigail said, though she looked away. "I don't. I guess the genetics only go so far," she joked, but Deb could tell she didn't sound happy. There was a long silence before Abigail changed the subject. "So, what about you?" she asked. "Care to show me anything?"

Deb laughed. "I don't know yet," she said. "I mean, my dad has his powers, but my mom doesn't, so it could go either way. Honestly, I wouldn't care either way. I've seen Dad do his Earth powers a couple of times (since in this story their parents still have their powers, but I'm not sure if that's canon), but I'd be happy either way."

Abigail nodded, trying but failing to understand. She never felt like she could be happy. She could never impress her dad enough when she did anything. Not since Mom died. But the girl pushed that in the back of her mind, choosing to concentrate on what was in front of her.

In the center of the dojo, Ray and Carson fought. They had been good friends from the time they were young, so they knew each other quite well. Meanwhile, Rose and Sarah were helping each other out when fighting the twins. "Watch your left," Sarah said to Rose. "Tad always comes in from there." Rose took the advice and dodged a strike swung at her. "Thanks," Rose said. "She struck out and kept fighting.

When they were done, they were all panting, tired but their adrenaline pumping. "You do really well," Rose complimented, digging her sword into the ground and leaning on its handle. "Thanks," Sarah said, twirling her sword in the air. "I do a lot of sparring with my siblings, so I should know their every go-to move."

"I'm glad you have a good relationship with them," Rose said. "Ray and I get along occasionally, but sometimes it's difficult."

"Hey, aren't all siblings?" Sarah said, laughing. "It doesn't mean I don't have my own quarrels with Raine and Tad. I still love them, but it can be hard." She extended her hand. "That was good fighting I saw," she said. Rose took her hand and shook it. "You did well, too," the girl told her.

There was a little more time before the sparring ended, and they were together again.

There will be more soon, but I can't say when. I'm hoping in the next week, maybe even a few days from now. Thanks everyone for being patient for this to come out! I know, writer's block is a real bully. You'll get a glimpse of the villain in the next chapter, i promise, then we can really get started. Good night! Ardhoniel to bed now.
