Chapter 4: The Hunted

Kaname's Point of view:
I hadn't been able to stop thinking about that Pureblood girl, Yuki Eldon. I had felt this… pull… to be next to her. And, judging from what Takuma told me when she tried to leave, she seemed to be pulled towards me as well. What is this? I've never felt this before. It was like at that moment when she was near me, I couldn't live without her. Is this her power? No. I shouldn't think like that. She did run away from me, afraid for her little sister, I don't know why though. It's not like I wanted to kill her or something. Maybe she had been warned by someone to stay away from me? No. I must stop thinking about her like this. But it is no use. I just… can't. I stand up and go to my window to look outside. Without even a glance at her face, she has become my world… I need to find her... before I go insane.
Now…
Yuki's point of view:
I'm at the flower shop, working like normal. But, want to know what's NOT normal. This feeling to go in this one direction, and never stop. Also, I have this need to see Kaname Kuran's face… I sighed. It was barely still break and when it started, it wouldn't be long till I graduated. If I do, then I can focus everything on work. I looked up from arranging flowers as customers came in. I pulled on my normal smile, and called out to them.
"Sirs, can I help you?"
As they turned towards me, I stopped breathing.
Ba thump
Ba thump
Ba thump
It was Toga and Zero.
My smile fell.
With Zima, Em, and Ivy.
Zima sighed sadly. Without Yuki, everything seemed to dim… Ever since Zima had first stayed the night over at Em's, she had been sad and upset, only ever happy when Yuki came to visit whenever she could. Em was in the kitchen making dinner as Zima sat on the couch with Ivy watching TV, she was about to turn it off when a story popped up.
'Juri and Haraku Kuran… killed in a fire.'
Her eyes widened.
Yuki's point of view:
"What do you mean it went public?" I growled out.
Toga sighed. We were in the storage room, thanks to the super nice owner, seeing me being my normal self, until Toga and Zero came in. She asked if there was something wrong, and I couldn't say anything. Toga had to tell the owner that they needed to talk to me privately. She gave me a sad smile and allowed us to go here. Zero had just bluntly put out, 'It went public' and said nothing else.
"The story that your parents died…. It got out."
I sighed. I mean, it was meant to happen. I personally thought they were talking about how I made Shinya a vampire… slave. Hehe.
"Oh… right. That."
"You don't seem surprised." Zero observed.
"Your also relieved." Toga finished.
Can't they just but-out?
"No, I'm not surprised. They were influential people in both worlds. But I'm relieved because I thought that you guys were talking about… something else."
"Oh, and what would that be?" Zero pressed.
"You see when I was…" I started to tell one of the famous embarrassing stories of mine when I stopped.
"What? What's wrong?" Toga asked seeing my dazed look.
"It's… on TV?"
"Yes…?"
Crap. I started hyperventilating. Zima watches TV!
"Zima…"
I turned and ran out. I looked at the time and saw that it was 10 mins. Before my shift was over. I looked around for my boss and when I saw her I asked her.
"Hey, I need to leave. It's a family emergency."
She looked at me and nodded.
"OK. Hope everything turns out OK."
I nodded at her as I quickly left with Zero and Toga running after me.
"Where are you going?!" Toga shouted.
I ignored them as I ran in the alleyway and used my powers to get me right in front of Em's house. I took a deep breath hearing the TV on and went in.
"Em, Zima, Ivy I'm back!"
Nothing.
Em came rushing towards me and whispered as she held me back from the living room.
"You should leave, Zima… Zima is…"
"BIG SIS!" Both of us turn towards the mad, and upset little girl. "HOW COME YOU NEVER TOLD ME?!" Tears ran down her cheeks as she pointed at me and screamed. "GET OUT!"
I watched as Em ran towards Ivy who was crying her heart out before I looked back at Zima.
"Zima, please listen to me-"
"NO! GET OUT! I HATE YOU! GET OUT YOU PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A VAMPIRE! GET. OUT. NOOOOOWWWWWW!"
"Zima please-"
"NO! Get OUT! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE EVER AGAIN, YOU, YOU, WEAK, COLD HEARTED MONSTER!
The building started shaking as her eyes went red. Chaos was happening and if this continued any longer…. I raised me hands and nodded. "OK. OK. I'll go. Have a goodnight Zima. Love you."
I then turned around and left. As I went back to my apartment without using my powers, I thought things over. My heart was twisting in pain as my sister's knife plunged deeper in. How…. could I be so stupid? Thinking that I was protecting her when really…. I caused her more pain…
"NO! Get OUT! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE EVER AGAIN, YOU, YOU, WEAK, COLD HEARTED MONSTER!
I know where she got that from. I had come home one day, and ran in my room with tears. She was only 4 as she came to see me. Crying with my head buried in my arms…. That was the worst day of my life, but it might possibly be the best to…
Flashback:
I ran home as fast as I could, my injuries from the male purebloods slowly healing. I was holding back my tears as I slammed open our front door and ran down in my room. Our Mother and Father were at a business meeting, and the babysitter was with Zima, and hopefully they are still at the park. I slammed my door shut before I ran and hid my face in my bed covers. I didn't hear my door open and I didn't hear the quiet footsteps coming my way.
"Big sister…?"
I froze.
The voice dripping with childlike innocence assaulted me.
"Are you OK?"
I gulped and said, "I'm…. fine Zima. Go back with your babysitter."
"She left to go to the store 10 mins. ago."
"Why?"
"We were out of ice cream."
"Oh…? Then why aren't you with her?"
"I wanted to stay and play with my dolly."
I said nothing.
"Big sister?"
"Yes Zima?"
"Why are you crying?"
I stopped breathing. I didn't think she could recognize the smell of tears.
"Um… *sniff*... you see…"
"Did someone hurt you?"
"Why do you say that?"
"I can see, and smell your blood to…."
"Zima… don't tell Mom or Dad OK?"
"OK. Will you tell me now?"
I turned towards her and she gasped. I know she could see my right black eye that was slowly healing from lack of energy.
"I… " I started to tell her what had happened but I stopped. I couldn't tell her that I was… raped and beat up by male Pureblood's that called me a cold hearted monster could I?
"I was called a… cold hearted monster by some every mean people. And I… tried to get them to take it back but they got my first."
She looked at me with a blank face, as she slowly walked closer to me.
"What did they tell you otherwise? I know it hurt you.
"They… they said that…. That my family could never love… someone like me…"
Zima hugged me and whispered in my ear as I continued to cry.
"Don't worry. We will always love you big sis, no matter what happens in this world, we all love you…"
End of flashback:
Now, however, I don't believe I could go on without my sisters being there for me. Even if Zima doesn't understand… what is truly going on. I stopped my feet and looked around me.
This isn't anywhere near my place…
In fact, I have no idea where I am… I look around a little more and see that I had picked the wrong time to get lost in my feelings, that, and to not use my powers. There were gang members all around me, here's the problem…
They look really familiar.
"Lady Eldon… I'm afraid you wandered in the wrong part of town tonight… Lord Rido wants to… talk to you…"
I said nothing as I looked around me. 10, 15, 20? How many are there?! I look back at the man in front of me and saw his smile.
"Is the mouse caught in my trap?"
I tense. I grabbed my purse and slowly put it on the ground next to my feet. When I did, the leader's smile brightened.
"I see you need some convincing… Ivy, Zima and that old human are not so well protected you know…"
My eyes widen. How the FUCK do they keep finding out?!
"Well, I'm not going down without a fight." I tell him with a smile. "Come and get me."
In one swift moment, every noble Vampire ran at me. I closed my eyes and slowed down time. I opened them and make an icicle in my hands. I ran forward and stab the weaker ones around me in the heart before my spell word off. When I killed the last weak-link, time returned to normal. I jumped high in the air as a Vampire's fist came crashing down to where I used to be. I landed and continued to dodge attacks as I counted them. 'So I got 13 out of 20, that means… 7 left.' I landed near the alley where I started and screamed in utter pain as the solid ground turned into a not so steady place to be. The ice underneath me knocked me down on my back as my ankle twisted painfully. The air in my lungs left me and I couldn't breath. While I tried to breath, they laughed at me.
"You-HAHA-Aren't worthy enough to be called a Vampire!"
That hurt me.
"Your not worthy to be called a Pureblood let alone a Vampire! Haha!"
That broke me.
"You are pathetic!"
That scared me.
"Even your little sister agrees!"
That killed me.
"We are going to drag you back to that old lady's house and we're going to see how much your sister's like watching you die!"
That woke me.
Anger bubbled down inside of me as I stood up and latched onto that anger, the fury. They stopped laughing as I healed by twisted ankle enough so I could stand up straight. My eyes glowed red as I hissed.
"You threaten my sister's... ?"
"And we're going to kill them just as slowly…"
I attacked. All I saw was red as I attacked whoever was in front of me. I know one thing as I tore through their hearts over and over again, I had lost complete control of my body. I didn't stop until I felt sharp pain in my head as someone strong tackled me to the ground...
With the Headmaster, and Kaname minutes before:
Kaname was standing in front of the Headmaster trying to focus on what he was telling him. After thinking again and again about Yuki, Kaname had learned that when he was, he couldn't hear anyone. So right now he tried to ignore about her existence for the moment. However, the Headmaster stopped talking and Kaname slowly stood up. A dark aura hit them and they couldn't decide where it was. Until Zero and Toga suddenly bursts through the door.
"KURAN, HEADMASTER, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!" Zero yelled.
"Yes, we know." Kaname said calmly.
"No, you don't understand." Toga told them. But as he tried to explain, the aura went from dark, to out of control. As soon as it did, everyone ran out of the school and went to the gates. As they did, Kaname knew who it was.
"Yuki…" he whispered as he ran a full super towards her.
"KURAN!" Zero yelled as he ran after him with Toga and Kaien following him.
Kaname ran for awhile until he came across a old part of town. He stopped as he observed the situation. Yuki was out of control as she slaughtered a group of Vampires one by one. When Kaname saw this, he ran forward and tackled her down to the ground. They rolled over and over each other until they stopped with Kaname on top of her. When her red eye's meet with his calm crismon ones, she stopped.
Zero, Toga, and the Headmaster ran over to the Vampire she had just taken down and saw that he was dead.
"Hold her down Kuran." Zero told him as they gathered the last remaining Vampires, of course not looking at Kaname as he did so.
"I don't think he's going to have a problem." Toga said making both Zero and the Headmaster look over at the two Pureblood's. Kaname was still on top of Yuki and she wasn't moving an inch. In fact, she was making sure that it was Kaname, who couldn't go anywhere as she slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and moved her left leg so it was over his waist. To say the boys were shocked would be an understatement as Kaname bent down and kissed her gently. Zero was lost for words before he shook his head and yelled.
"KURAN I SAID HOLD HER DOWN NOT SEDUCE HER!"
"Zero, look." the Headmaster said as he pointed towards Yuki.
She had calmed down considerably as she held Kaname close to her. Her eye's had gone back to her friendly brown as she kissed Kaname back before pulling away and fainting saying loud enough for them to hear her.
"Their Rido's…"
And then she was unconscious. Kaname sighed and stood up with Yuki in his arms while Zero asked.
"What did she mean?"
"Their Rido's Vampire's most likely sent to kill her." Kaname told him.
"So… she was protecting herself?" Kaien asked.
He normally wasn't slow on the up take but right now as Kaname glared at him, it was clear Kaname didn't appreciate it either.
"Yes."
"But why did she respond to you?" Toga asked.
"Yeah, you didn't have to kiss her." Zero scold Kaname as he crossed his arms.
"Of course I did, she wouldn't have turned back to normal otherwise." Kaname said as he ignored Toga's question, perfuring to keep that private between him and Yuki.
"Well, whatever, just help with these guys." Zero snorted and jerked his thumb towards the last 3 Vampire's who were unconscious.
Kaname looked at them before he walked over and picked up Yuki's purse. He then looked at the three and turned 2 of them to ash, and keep one alive to question later. Kaname then looked at the ash and blood around them and said.
"Your Hunters, you can clean this mess up."
And before the 3 Hunter's could complain, Kaname disappeared along with Yuki and the other Vampire.
"Great, he leaves us to do the dirty work." Zero sighed and pulled out his phone to call to administration.
Yuki's point of view:
I groaned as the pain in my head wouldn't disappear. 'What happened?' I felt… warm and safe. Now I was confused. My last memory was being kissed before I kissed them back, feeling like I should, and then I told however that it was Rido's guys…. and then nothing. I opened my eyes and came face to face with the guy who I have been fighting my instincts over. Kaname Kuran had his arms wrapped around me, while we both laid on a bed with red silk covering it. I was looking straight in his eye for what seemed like an entirety. I was getting lost in their depths, while he looked like he was having to same thing happen to him. I felt strangely comfortable laying like this. And, for the first time since my parents died, I felt like everything would be ok. But what I also felt, that's ruining the moment, that I know for a FACT, that I didn't put myself here.
On this bed.
In his arms.
"Um… hi?" I say rather awkwardly.
When I said that, we both sensed someone about to kick down the door and we move away from each other. I went across the room while Kaname went to try and save his door.
"Kikuyu don't you-"
BAM!
His door went flying and I screamed as I ducked dropped and rolled away from the still flying door now out the window.
"Kick my… *Sigh* door." Kaname finished.
"Well Sorrrrryyyyyyy!" Zero yelled, clearly having not heard my scream of terror!
What is WRONG with this guy! Kicking down door?!
"Have you not heard about 'knocking' and 'door handles'? It's the new trend I hear." I say rather sarcastically.
That's when Toga and a blonde dude came walking in. The blonde guy looked over at me and smiled while Toga tried to stop what looked like to be chaos happening with Zero and Kaname.
"Hello, I'm Headmaster Cross, and you are?"
I turned towards the blonde guy, Headmaster Cross, and ask him.
"Have you heard of 'knocking' or 'door handles'?"
Suddenly, he smiled and asked teasingly loudly.
"Oh, did you want time alone with KANAME?!"
Everyone stopped and looked at us. My eyes widened to the size of saucers.
Silence….
"YOU M***** F*****, S*** H*** OF A W****, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU SUN OF A B***-"
Zero ran forward and put his hand over my mouth as dirty words escaped me like there was no tomorrow. Everyone had straight backs as they tried to pretend that I didn't say that, however, that proved harder than they thought. Kaname was mortified and it showed on his face. Zero had his right hand behind my head as his left was covering my mouth. He had wide eyes as he looked down at me. Toga was sweating bullets as he looked at his now pale, shaking hands.
'How can someone who looks that innocent speak so badly, when they speak so little bad words…?' he wondered.
The Headmaster was… let's say was the… best, out of the group. He had proply fainted on the ground at my feet. And as I looked down at him, I felt no pity. That basterdard, when I get through with him I'll-
I stopped.
As I watched those around me, I felt this… emptiness.
An emptiness that would not leave me, intensified inside my heart.
What is this feeling…?
Kaname seemed to snap out of his shock for the most part as he pulled Zero off of me and held me in his arms as he whispered sweet-nothings in my ear. And… strangely enough, as he did so, I felt comforted.
And I had this feeling he was going to be there for me no matter what had happens.
