Okay, so our internet isn't working so I'm just gonna write fanfiction until it starts to work again.
Disclaimer: I own the Drilovsky's but not Patton or Fanny
As soon as the bus stopped, Patton grabbed Fanny's hand and drug her up the side entrance to the apartment above. He tried the door but it wouldn't open "Damn it Natalie!" Fanny stared at him "Sorry, I'm so used to being around Drilovsky's who don't care." Patton pounded on the door "Open the door Natalie!"
"Not unless you say the magic word!" A small girl's voice said from the other side of the door
"Please?" Patton said asked
The door swung open and a little girl with long black hair and black eyes was standing there. She looked identical to Patton. "Actually the magic word was 'I love Katrina!' but you have a guest so I'll be nice."
Patton groaned and stomped inside the small apartment "First of all, 'I love Katrina' is 3 words. Second of all I don't love Katrina!"
Natalie nodded while rolling her eyes "What you start American school and suddenly you're a freakin' poet?"
Fanny followed Patton into the house, their were beer bottles on the floor and boxes piled in one of the corners near the staircase that lead down to the restaurant. Their were hand-prints on the walls in paint Fanny guessed Patton and Natalie had made as some were larger than others. The small living room and kitchen were conjoined and a hallway lead to what Fanny guessed were bedrooms and a bathroom.
"Where is mom?" Patton asked his sister
"At Muller's."
Patton rolled his eyes and looked at the floor "Of course she is."
"Muller's?" Fanny asked sitting on the dark leather sofa where a large Irish Wolfhound was sleeping
"It's a bar just a ways down the street. Uhh, my mom has sort of a drinking problem ever since pa died."
Fanny's face turned red "Oh, she spends a lot of time at this bar then?"
Natalie sat cross legged on the floor and picked up a notepad "Yeah. She drank before pa-pa died and dranks more now that he's dead."
"Drinks." Patton said while leaning against the railing with a cell phone, he put it up to his ear "Mamo, ty planujesz powrót do domu wieczorem?"
Fanny watched a Patton flinched, apparently whatever his mother had said stung "Przykro mi, dalej pić, jeśli potrzebujesz pomocy z dostaniem startowej mają Bert zadzwoń do mnie i przyjdę po ciebie." Patton hung up and sighed "God I hate that woman." He walked over and sat on the armrest next to Fanny, she noticed a slight limp as he came over she hadn't noticed before.
"Why are ya limpin'?" she asked
Patton looked at her in surprise "I'm not limping."
Natalie looked up "Patton przestać okłamywać dziewczyny."
"Ona nie musi wiedzieć. Pozwól nam mieć to na nisko." Patton said while glaring at his sister
Natalie shook her head "Mom beat him up and he's embarrassed."
Patton's face turned red as he growled at his sister "You stupid brat!"
Natalie stuck out her tongue and went back to her drawing.
Fanny looked up at the black haired boy "Your mother hits you?"
Patton waved his hand and chuckled lightly "She hit us when we mouthed off when pa was alive. To be honest, dad would hit us if we mouthed off to him, the he'd tell us that we were sarcastic little sh-" he looked over at Fanny "little craps and pat us on the back."
Fanny grinned at Patton almost swearing "You know if we get into the KND they aren't going to let you swear."
"Yeah, I know. Rachel doesn't like when I swear so I try to control it. Just like my accent."
Fanny laughed "Back on topic, why does your mother smack you around?"
"Patton mouths off and acts stupid so he get's beat a lot more than I do." Natalie said
"Thanks Nat, Fanny, my mom is a difficult woman. She didn't ever want kids but had me when she was 17. I'm surprised she even kept me. Natalie was more of a planned child because by that point they generally didn't care."
Fanny scoffed "Her being upset about you being a teenage pregnancy doesn't excuse her actions."
Patton and Natalie looked at her with wide eyes "I have no idea what you just said." Patton said with a grin "But it sounded smart."
Fanny laughed "Whatever, I'm sure it's because her husband just died and you do look an awful lot like him." Fanny got up and went to the picture on the counter "What was his name?"
"Casmir Joshua Drilovsky." Patton said coming up behind her "But he went by Cas. He hated his name, said it made him sound like a vampire."
Saying that Cas was handsome was an understatement. High cheekbones, a cleft chin, cocky grin, perfect white teeth. His round eyes were dark black, and his messy hair was the same color. He had pale skin and in the picture he was wearing dog-tags (the ones Patton currently had around his neck) and a striped gray t-shirt with a leather jacket. Bodanah was behind him, her face longer but just as pale. Her children had her eyes, slightly tilted up on the outsides and much smaller than Casmir's. Her eyes were a light gray though as both children had black eyes like their father. Her long black hair was pulled up in a ponytail and silver crosses hung from her ears. She had on a red tank top and a gray and gold Letterman jacket with 60 on both sleeves.
"Mom likes being called Bo, hates her name too, although I don't blame her on that one."
Fanny smiled "They look really happy."
Patton frowned "Yeah...Dad is 18 here and mom is 17, it's actually a week before his 19th birthday. I was born a month before this picture was taken."
Fanny looked at Patton and realized that he was staring at the picture "Is it hard?"
"Well duh!" he said with an airy laugh "I just keep expecting him to come walkin' in laughing about the terrible joke he played on all of us."
Fanny leaned over and gave Patton a hug, it definitely felt nicer than she thought it would. The large dog came and pushed his way in between them, he was about up to Fanny's chest and it freaked her out. Patton laughed and pet the dog "This is Frankie."
Fanny raised an eyebrow "Frankie?"
"I didn't name him, Rido did."
"Who the heck is Rido?"
"Katrina's brother."
"Who the heck is Katrina?"
"Patton's girlfriend!" Natalie interjected
"Shut it! She's a friend of mine back in Poland."
Fanny couldn't explain why she felt so insanely jealous at the thought of this Katrina girl but something about the way Patton smiled when talking about her made Fanny sick to her stomach.
"Uh...it's like...dang...what time is it? 4:30, I need to get home, mum is going to be wondering where I am."
Fanny grabbed for her bag and headed toward the door, this feeling was freaking her out and she just really needed to get away from Patton as soon as possible.
"Do you want me to walk you? It's a long walk uptown." Patton offered
Fanny really didn't want to accept but knew she needed to, she wasn't supposed to walk around town alone and she was already going to get in trouble for the water prank "Alright, sure. I'm not supposed to walk alone."
Natalie stopped while pulling on some black rain boots and looked at Fanny "You can't walk alone? I'm 4 and I can walk around where ever I want to."
Patton smacked her on the back of the head "Fanny's parents actually care what their kids do Nat."
"Kids?" Natalie asked "Any my age?"
"Well, my little brother Paddy is your age. Shaunie is 3. Rachel has a little weirdo...I mean brother...named Harvey who's 4. Hoagie has a little brother named Tommy who is 4 also."
Natalie jumped and clapped her hands "Yay! I already have friends!" The 4 year old ran out the door and down the steps with Frankie following behind. She started chatting to the dog in what Fanny guessed was Polish.
"He can understand that?" she asked Patton
"He only understands Polish, he's from Poland, he used to run around the streets there, we brought him with us because we used to let him sleep in our barn and we'd feed him."
"So if I tell him to sit he won't know what I mean?"
Patton raised and eyebrow "Frankie!" the dog stopped and looked at him "Sit boy!" the dog just cocked it's head to the side and then ran to catch up with Natalie who seemed to be playing chicken with a pigeon on the sidewalk.
