I am sorry about not posting recently. I had lost interest in writing this fan fiction and I was unsure in what direction I wanted to take it. As I am currently writing this I have found a new inspiration and will continue writing this story and will hopefully finish it soon. Thank you for those who have been patient and stuck with me through this process. ~Delenalover20
"Hello ma'am! Do you perhaps know a man that goes by the name of Klaus?" Caroline asked desperation clear in her voice.
We had arrived late last night in New Orleans, a million thoughts running through everyone's minds. We had come to a mutual decision to sleep on things so we could clear our heads and begin our search in the morning. We had spent the majority of the day looking for Klaus asking owners of the main hangouts and just the general public if they had seen him or know his whereabouts. As the day grew later and attempts to find Klaus ending in failure it was becoming more evident that Bonnie and I had no more fuel in the tank and we had given up. You could see the determination in Caroline's eyes. She was not giving up on finding Klaus until she found some sort of clue to where he was and to what was going on.
"No, I am so sorry miss but there is no one that goes by that name around these parts of towns." The bar tender responded with a sympathetic smile.
With another rejection in the bag I could tell Caroline was on the verge of giving up. She wanted to know if it was her true love. I couldn't help but feel for her. All the heart breaks and jerks she's dated in the past she needs something good in her life. I understand though if it were this Damon guy I'd want to meet him too just to know if that love was real.
I walked towards Caroline placing my hand on her arm. "Care, it's okay we'll find him eventually. I promise you, but first why don't we go get some rest it's been a long day. You need to refuel and then will definitely find him tomorrow." I said.
Caroline's P.O.V
I was currently standing outside the bar Bonnie, Elena and I had been questioning the bartender earlier in the day. I was taking sips watching person after person walk by until my gaze met another and I was staring into the eyes of a man standing a few feet away from me. I knew this had been the man I was looking for. This gut feeling inside of me was telling me that he was safe to be with and that I have known him forever. "Klaus?" I questioned not daring to break eye contact with him. It felt as though if I were to break eye contact everything would be gone and I couldn't lose him a second time.
He let a low chuckle out, slowly he moved his body towards me one step at a time. It seemed as though hours could have passed although it had only been seconds. "Caroline my love, what brings you here?"
"It's really you." I embraced him leaving as little space between us as possible. My arms wrapped around his neck my head tucked in the crook of neck. I was fighting to hold the tears in. Everything here felt right. I felt his chest vibrate from the laugh he let out. I slowly pushed myself off of him leaving my arms hanging loosely around his neck to keep us connected.
His arms had found there place on my hips. "Yes, love it's me. I'm glad you took me up on my offer to show you the world. I missed you." He said before placing a kiss on my temple.
I gave him a quizzical look. I'm glad you took me up on my offer. I don't remember him giving me an offer. "That's not why I'm here. To be truthful I didn't even know I was given this offer."
It was now his turn to return the quizzical expression I had previously given to him. "What do you mean love?"
"I mean I can't remember anything. It's like someone erased my memory along with Elena's and Bonnie's. We barely know what's going on right now. All we knew was that we had to find you. I had to find you."
"Caroline I-," He paused, unsure of how to continue things, I spoke up.
"Do you know why? Do you know how? Please Klaus I need an explanation. Why didn't you stay?" I was on the verge of tears.
"I know how, but you have to promise not to leave."
"I promise!" I said.
"Caroline?Caroline?" Klaus' voice began sounding more feminine.
"Klaus! What's going on?" My breathing picked up and that's when I woke up. My heart was beating against my chest, hard and fast.
"Caroline, are you okay?" Elena asked.
"I know where he's at!" I stated.
