Chapter four: Math Tutor

A couple of days had already gone by and in Sakura's world it had been the best days of her middle school – let's correct that – entire life ever! Everything was perfect: her wonderful Syaoran-kun was there with her every day and there were no troubles, except for – in Sakura's eyes – the horrible math test they'd had the day before. Even though it was just something to test ones abilities on, to Sakura it was like a nightmare. Math wasn't as easy as back in elementary school anymore. Even after studying for it, it was still pretty hard and Terada-sensei had given her "special" homework to improve her skills.

"Syaoran-kun, can you help me with this?" Sakura asked, showing him some papers. It was the end of the day everyone had begun packing their things and leaving.

"Sure. What do you need help with?" Syaoran asked her, taking the papers that Sakura was holding in her hands.

"... Everything," she replied, a little embarrassed by it. Syaoran began looking through the work sheets before speaking.

"Sure, I'll help you. I just need to ask the teacher about something. Could you wait for me by the school gates?" he asked as he stood up. She nodded happily – mostly relieved that she'd get a tutor.

At the school gates several students passed her as she stood there, waiting. The sun was still up high in the sky and she was beginning to feel the heat from underneath the black school uniform. There were only a few light clouds in the sky, but they weren't nearly enough to cover the bright orb of light.

Sakura sighed and almost began wondering what was taking so long and that maybe he'd forgotten about her. It made her really sad when she thought that, but she shook it out of her mind. Of course he wouldn't forget about her! There's no way!

It was confirmed a few minutes later when he popped up in front of her, slightly out of breath.

"Sorry I made you wait for so long," he managed to say in between the many deep breaths. "Shall we go?" he asked and turned his head slightly to look at her.

"U-un..." answered Sakura, looking at him from the corner of her eye.

They walked along the streets, hand-in-hand, and enjoying the wonderfulness of each other's company.

Suddenly Syaoran stopped dead in his tracks.

"I just remembered that it's still a real mess at my place, can we go to yours?" he admitted, scratching his head.

"Hoe? Still not done? And even after I came to help you the other day... Geez..." she pouted a bit, then sighed and smiled. "If that's the case, then I guess we'll just have to go to my house. Either way, you'll still help me with my math." She smirked at him in a bossy way

"I'm home, Kero-chan!" Sakura shouted as soon as she was on the other side of the door.

"Welcome home!" Kero replied and flew out from the kitchen to greet them. His eyes quickly caught sight of Syaoran. "Oh, so the brat's here too... I'll just go finish my snack then." He flew of again just as suddenly as he'd arrived.

"Geez. Eating again? I'm the one who's gonna get blamed for it," Sakura muttered whilst putting her shoes together neatly "Come in, Syaoran. We'll go up to my room because Kero's in the kitchen, and I'm betting it's pretty messy there."

"Okay, sure." He took off his shoes and followed her up the wooden stair to her room. Unlike in her elementary school days, Sakura didn't keep all her plush toys exhibited in her room anymore. It had become more "mature" in a way, even though it was still a "child's room".

They sat down on the pink, fluffy bedspread.

"Now, let's see..." Sakura began rummaging inside of her school bag, trying to find the math sheets. "Where are they?" she said frustrated. After a short while of muttering to herself she even flipped the bag upside-down and emptied it of all the content.

"They're not here!" she cried out in anxiety and disappointment. "But I'm sure I put them in my bag before going!"

"Are you absolutely sure about that? 'Cause since they're not here, then... You must've taken them out at some point," Syaoran pointed out.

"The only thing I can think of is when I put in my English text-book. I just took out the papers and then-" she stopped, realizing what she'd done.

"-And then forgot them," Syaoran filled in. Both of them sighed.

"I'm sorry Syaoran-kun," the depressed girl apologized. "I guess there's no other reason to keep you here. Sorry. I'll follow you to the gate-"

"W-wait!" Syaoran exclaimed, a bit embarrassed by his sudden outburst. "Um... I mean... If you still remember the parts that are hard, I can still try to explain them to you, if you want to that is."

"Really?!" Sakura's lips turned from sad face to a bright sun as her face lit up with happiness. She looked him straight in the eyes. Of course he couldn't say anything else but "yes".

"If I remember correctly, the things Terada-sensei told me to practice on were these," she said as she took out a piece of paper and a pen from her drawer. Sakura then began writing down all the stuff that she wanted Syaoran to help her with.

"I think I get it now!" Sakura burst out and put down her pencil so that her hands were free. She then stretched her arms and stood up to do the same for her legs.

Several hours had already gone by and outside it was already dark and heavy rain poured down from the clouds.

"It's raining? It was so sunny just a while ago!" Sakura pointed out when she turned her head to look out the window.

"Well, it has been a few hours since then. Didn't you notice?" he asked and smiled at her surprised look.

Suddenly there was a huge sound, followed by a black-out.

"B-black out?!" cried Sakura.

"Must've been the thunder. I'll go check downstairs and see if it's the same there." Syaoran stood up and began to walk towards the door, when suddenly Sakura jumped up and grabbed him from behind.

"D-don't go, Syaoran-kun!" she shouted.

Syaoran was taken aback! Something like this had never happened before, at least not in this kind of situation, and his heart skipped a beat or two. This surprising act made both of them go red in the face.

"I-I'm scared, b-b-b-because Naoko-chan said that g-g-ghosts will come out when there's a blackout!"

"O-oh. So that's it," he said with a slight disappointment in his voice. He unwrapped her arms from around him and sat down beside her on the floor. "Geez, you always were easy to scare, weren't you Sakura?"

"Don't tease me," mumbled Sakura, still red in the face after doing something so bold. Syaoran chuckled at how cute she sounded.

"I won't, sorry," he apologized and smirked.

She rested her head on his shoulder as they sat there in the dark room, listening to the rain and thunder outside. Both their hearts pounded quicker than normally.

"You know, Sakura," Syaoran began and turned his head to face her. "When I was in Hong Kong-" He managed to say no more than that before he realized just how close their faces were. Hearts pounding even harder than before they moved closer to each other. Both of them were red in the face, but seemed not to notice that.

Their lips touched. The softness of her lips made him want more, and she was no different. He began slowly moving his lips and she followed his rhythm. It wasn't an intense kiss, just a soft one filled with lots of love. Sakura felt it tingling through out her entire body, like electricity, and so did Syaoran.

Ever since falling in love three years ago, even though they weren't aware of it, this was something that they both had yearned for. Another way to express how much you love someone through actions, not words.

The kiss moved slowly and softly. Even if they wanted more, they dared not do anything more than that. After all, this was their first kiss together.

They finally broke apart and just looked into each others eyes with passion. He lifted his hand to stroked her honey brown hair. She liked it, the worm feeling of his hand as it touched her.

Syaoran's hand came down to her face and stroked her cheek. She put her hand over his and enjoyed the feeling. Sakura smiled at him and he smiled back.

"I love you, Syaoran-kun," she whispered gently.

"I know. I love you too, Sakura."

A/N: Kya! Finally, a kiss! I was so happy when it finally happened!
