Heyo! I'm finally back. Sorry I haven't updated this in a while but a lot of things have been going on. For those of you who read the update I posted about a couple weeks ago, then you already know what's up. For those of you who didn't, then I'll give a brief summary of everything at the end.

A big milestone has been crossed for this story, though! Over 100 followers! I would like to thank you guys for taking an interest in this story and want to see more. I would also like to thank everyone who reviewed this story. Your guy's feedback helpful in more ways than you know.

I would like to highlight one guy in particular though, no I'm not angry at you. DragonGodSmith3000, while I may have shed a tear, I would like to thank you for how brutally honest your review was. It might surprise you, actually, but I also had the same concerns about my story. Reading someone else actually say it, though, finally made me decide to correct a few things. So, thank you.

Basically, I know that I made that edgelord joke in the last chapter, but I do feel that I've made Drew a little over the top in that regard. So, I'm going to change how he acts in future chapters and to not be so depressing. In my defense though, its a little hard to think about how someone would act in his situation. I imagine that he would be angry and closed off, but I may have pushed it a bit too far.

Anyways, this chapter took an absolutely stupid amount of time to write. I started this back during winter break, but a case of writer's block and my current personal situation had kept me from continuing it. And to be honest, I just wasn't really looking forward to writing this chapter in particular. Everything else after this though, I'm totally excited about.

So, without further ado, here is chapter 4 of A Different Immortal

Drew sighed as he lounged about in his chair, taking in warm temperature of Arizona. Hearing laughter and random chit chat, he looked over and saw his grandfather closing the door and stepped out into his backyard. The man was a bit tan, mostly from his years living in Arizona. The top of his head was bald and was slightly hunched over, walking with a cane.

Drew had been told countless times by his mother and aunts that he looked like a brown-haired version of his grandfather when he was his age.

"Hey Papa," Drew called to him.

Turning to the voice, the old man perked up a bit when he saw his grandson, "Ah, there you are."

"Yeah I just wanted to get some fresh air after dinner," Drew replied, referencing the Thanksgiving meal they all just had, as the other man sat in the chair opposite of him.

There was a moment of silence as they both observed the ducks swimming in the little stream next to the house that led into the pond of to the side.

"So...the marines," the older man spoke up.

Drew chuckled a bit as he nodded his head, "Yeah, sorry I'm not joining the Army instead."

The retired Army Colonel laughed as he waved his grandson off, "Don't be, I'll be happy with whatever you choose. Just…let me give you some advice, a former military man to a new one."

"…Sure, what is it?" Drew asked as he looked to him in interest.

"The longer you stay in, the more responsibility you are going to have and the more people you will be in charge of," the older man explained, "Just remember, you can't let any of that power go to your head. Understand?"

Drew nodded his head, "I understand, Papa. I promise I won't."

Philip looked around the temple in interest, or at least a still under construction one. Being the demigod son of Athena made him naturally so. Of course he was going to be there when the common people started praying to a new god.

Speaking of the deity, the demigod looked up to the large statue towering above everyone else. While Philip had never even seen the god, he was pretty sure that he didn't look like his statue. It was not as artistic as the other god's statues where they would have so many different details. Instead, Drew's statue was just a darkened rock in the shape of a human. Philip had heard this was because there was almost no information or stories what so ever about Drew besides the common knowledge of what he was a god of. It had actually angered a number of artists throughout Greece who wanted to paint and sculpt him.

Being the son of the goddess of wisdom though, Philip decided to do some digging of his own. Unfortunately though, it had proved to be a somewhat harder task than he anticipated. It seemed that the god wanted no interaction with anyone, gods or mortal. The only things that Philip was able to find was that Drew seems to do a lot of traveling outside of Greek territories and that supposedly a foreign deity with red eyes and pale skin has been spotted interacting with a few Egyptian Gods.

A hushed whisper then brought Philip out of his thoughts, "Demigod…! Hey, Demigod!"

Philip looked to the side of the temple in an area where there was no one around and widened his eyes at what he saw. Standing off to the side was a man in a black cloak-like cover that included a hood. The hood itself seemed to have some effect to where it covered the top half of the man's face in shadows, which in turn made his eerie red eyes glow. The rest of his clothes were strange looking as well, to the Demigod. Needless to say, though, Philip immediately knew who this was.

Looking around to make sure that no one was looking, Philip then walked to the deity and followed him around the corner to spot where no one would see them. Up close, the Demigod now noticed that the deity was much taller than him, him being of average height and only coming up to his chest. Following this, Philip proceeded to attempt to kneel before the God but was surprised when he stopped the Demigod from doing so.

"No no, you don't need to do that," the God quickly said in a somewhat annoyed tone.

Philip raised an eyebrow in turn at the unusual behavior for a Greek God, "Lord Drew…, I presume?"

"Yeah you guessed right, kid," Drew sighed as he peaked around the corner, "Tell me, how long has this place been under construction?"

"About a month now, my lord," Philip replied, "Although, today is the first day that the priests have finally allowed the public to enter."

"Priests?" Drew questioned with a raised eyebrow, bringing his attention back to the Demigod, "I have priests?"

"Well…technically not yet," Philip replied, "A number of high-ranking priests and priestesses of the other Gods are temporarily filling in the role until this temple has their own."

Drew nodded his head in understanding before grumbling as he rubbed his temple, "God, all of those voices are annoying."

Philip meanwhile, looked at this new god in interest and confusion. He had met a few of his other Godly family members before and Drew was definitely different. It seemed the rumors about him not liking his position are true.

"If I may ask, Lord Drew," Philip started, gaining the God's attention back on him, "How did you know that I was a Demigod?"

Drew chuckled in response, "It's not that hard to pick you all out. My energy senses are somewhat more enhanced than the rest of my family, and you really feel like your mother. That and your gray eyes."

That made sense to Philip, seeing as how all children of Athena shared that physical trait.

Drew, meanwhile, started to grow agitated again and going back to holding his head, "Well, I guess I can't just ask them all to stop praying to me. Seems I'm going to have to go ask a favor. See you later, kid. I'll tell your mom you said hi."

Before Philip could reply, though, the Demigod had to cover his eyes as Drew was covered in a bright light before he seemingly disappeared.

The Allmaker gave a small smile as it watched its other half appear before it. The other Elder God had visited his 'boss' enough times in the past few months to now know how to get to this place through his own means. It wasn't like how one traveled to other dimensions/universes in the normal way after all.

Drew pulled down his hood, revealing the upper half of his face, and grumbled as he approached the Allmaker, not liking what he was about to ask, "Against my better judgement…I-"

"Need a favor," the Allmaker finished for him, "I know, and I already have your answer."

Drew looked at the Elder God in confusion before he noticed an oval-shaped slab of metal in its hands. A moment later, and the Allmaker then tossed the object to Drew who caught and looked it over instantly.

It looked to be a mask. The design of it was reminiscent to that of a human skull, although the nose area was jutted out for comfort it seemed. The angles were a bit sharp and overall made the mask look intimidating. Suddenly, though, it started to change shape. The metal extended and enlarged the mask to be bigger than it was before.

Looking back to the Allmaker in confusion, the Elder was quick to explain, "Believe it or not, but your predecessor, Yami, actually had the same complaint in the beginning."

Drew widened his eyes in interest, he had heard very little about her about her, after all.

"So," the Allmaker continued, "I directed to a group of very skilled weapon and armor makers to make that mask. It took a while to make, but the end result was that it blocked out incoming mental attacks. And yes, that includes prayers. On top of that, the mask will change shape to fit whoever currently possess it."

Looking back to the object in his hands in interest, Drew turned it over to says a number of what looked to be runes etched into the metal.

Then, slowly bringing the mask up to his face, Drew was wondering how it would hold in place before he became surprised as the metal extended once again to wrap around his head. Tensing for a moment, Drew relaxed once he then realized that he could still hear, breath and see normally, before turning back to the Allmaker.

"Hmm…thanks," he started, "Alright, new question, one I've been thinking about for a while. Is there a way to possibly give or gift someone or something the ability to use Dark Energy as well?"

Apollo and Artemis walked out of the council chamber following the meeting. Despite Zeus initially wanting to somehow bring his son back after he quickly left at the beginning, the others had convinced him to just continue the meeting instead.

"You don't think Drew was being serious about Yahweh, do you?" Apollo asked his sister.

Artemis nodded her head, "Actually, now that I think about it, why shouldn't we believe him? He has lived through future timelines after all."

"Yeah…I know, but…I mean Yahweh?" Apollo asked incredulously, "The most popular god is going to be him?"

Artemis shrugged in response, "Maybe we should start to pay more attention to those three factions more than we thought we would from now on."

Yeah I know this is pretty short, I'm sorry. Originally I intended for this to be the last part of the last chapter but I had decided to make it its own at the time. The more I wrote this though, the more I disliked with how I kept presenting it. But now its out of the way! I'm really looking forward to the following chapters. Plus, I intend on making the next two to be much longer than normal. So you guys have that to look forward to.

Moving on to my current personal life. For those of you who don't know, I quit ROTC and am planning on putting college on hold until a later date. Yeah, it all kind of sucks to not be on scholarship and, after taking a look at my finances for the future, I unfortunately discovered that at my current pace I'll have to take out student loans in the future. Hearing the horror stories of people paying off theirs years after they graduated, I decided that instead I'm going to enlist and finish college later.

So now I'm currently awaiting approval to go to MEPs. Actually I've been waiting since the beginning of January, to be honest. The process is a bitch when you had childhood ADD and asthma and have to prove that you don't have them anymore. But, I got a 93 on my ASVAB and am hoping to be an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist. Hopefully I'll go to basic over the summer.

Back to the story, a funny thing I noticed while looking through the last chapter was that I actually forgot to have Hephaestus give his report during the meeting. Oops. Its ironic though, considering his reputation with his family. I can guaranteethat it wasn't intentional.

Anyways, if you guys liked the story then go ahead and follow it if you want. And leave a review and/or PM me if you liked the story, hated it, or have some cool ideas. I welcome constructive criticism.

I hope y'all have a nice day.
