With the SWAT Kats following them, Feral drove one of the Enforcer cars, while Felina was up front with him.
Commander Feral then pulled out his radio and ordered, "Get me chopper backup!" As he stashed his radio back into his coat pocket, the high-ranking Enforcer angrily muttered, talking between himself and his niece. "Of all the people I send out to protect the Mayor and Miss Briggs, why did I choose Steele to do the job?"
"Uncle," soothed Felina, "it wasn't your fault; you were only doing what you thought was right."
"I understand that, Felina, but if I see Manx and/or Miss Briggs sprawled out in a pool of blood, then that spineless coward Steele better hope that the Predator would be more merciful to him, for I won't be if I get my hands on him."
"But Uncle, remember what the Professor said: The Predator wouldn't kill an unarmed being; to the alien, Miss Briggs and the Mayor would be considered unsporting. Or something like that."
"True," stated Commander Feral, "but he also said the Predator would kill unarmed beings if they attacked the former."
Felina was about to make a sly comment on Mayor Manx, but before she could do so, she and her uncle and the SWAT Kats stopped at City Hall; it was when she saw the dead Enforcers hanging upside down that she felt her heart stop for a miniscule moment, followed by a sinking feeling in her stomach.
"Uncle . . ." trailed off Felina.
Feral, not glaring for the moment but still frowning, nodded grimly. "I know, Felina."
As the uncle-and-niece duo and the SWAT Kats climbed out of their appropriate vehicles, they saw Mayor Manx running out of City Hall.
"Feral!" called out Manx, sheer terror plain across his face and his hairpiece crooked. "That thing got her!"
"Calm yourself, Mayor!" ordered Feral as he, Felina, Razor, and T-Bone semi-circled Mayor Manx. "What happened?"
"Steele was in my office with me and Callie, and I asked him to see how two of your men were doing but there was no answer from his radio!"
"Yeah? Then what happened?" asked T-Bone.
"It was at that moment I saw the two Enforcers dead—hanging upside down!"
"We can see that, Mayor," said Razor in a voice on the verge of impatient petulance, "but what happened to Miss Briggs?"
"And Steele?" added Felina.
"Steele ran off!" panicked Manx. "The Predator kidnapped Callie—I tried to stop it with my golf club, but it was no use—that monster yanked it away from me, tossed me to the side, and busted down my door while carrying Callie away."
At that moment, an Enforcer helicopter stopped over City Hall and dropped a rope ladder for Feral and his niece.
"We don't have a moment to lose—" declared Razor—"me and T-Bone will search for them on one side of town. Commander Feral, you and your niece search for them on the other side."
Although he disliked the fact of taking orders from the SWAT Kats, the Enforcer decided not to argue—for the sake of Miss Briggs—and climbed up into the chopper with Felina right behind him. Feral and his niece then donned their visors before they and the pilot flew off.
After fixing his hairpiece, Mayor Manx ran to the SWAT Kats, who just hopped back into the Turbokat.
"Wait—what about me?" asked the intimidated Mayor.
"The Predator's not after you—" pointed out T-Bone as he and his partner put on their visors—"you stay here where you'll be safe."
With that said, the Turbokat took off.
After breaking into Megakat City's museum, Thwei Halkrath headed up to the roof. As he did so, he took his Combistick, extended it to its maximum length, and rammed either pointed end into the ground.
"What are you doing!?" asked Callie between fear and exasperation as she saw the alien monster perform that action. Before the Deputy Mayor knew it, the Predator pulled her against the Combistick before binding her feet to it, followed by her torso.
"I don't know what you have planned," said the fettered Callie, wriggling against the Combistick and rope, "but whatever it is, the SWAT Kats will stop you—mark my words."
Thwei Halkrath looked at Callie before playing a recording from Mist through his mask: "—the poor sucker is as good as dead when we riddle them with bullets."
Callie instantly got the idea of what was going on as she let out a gasp: The Predator was planning to use her as bait as a way to lure in and kill the SWAT Kats. Thwei Halkrath then turned on his invisibility cloak and hid behind the door that originally led to the museum roof, for he was no fool—he listened in on the conversation between Professor Hackle and his quarry about the visors, and he had no intentions on ruining the hunt.
From the sky, T-Bone and Razor searched for any sign of Callie and the Predator through their visors, now set to detect any heat signature.
"T-Bone," said Razor, "I'm not getting anything here. No Predator, no Miss Briggs."
"Yeah—" sighed the larger yellow SWAT Kat—"I'm picking up nothing either. I just hope Feral will have better luck than us."
"Wait a minute, buddy—I see her!"
"Where?"
"She's on the roof of the museum!"
Looking down, T-Bone saw Callie's heat signatures light up like a beacon.
"Good work, Razor!" smiled T-Bone in a somewhat relieved way before picking up his radio. "SWAT Kats to Commander Feral, we have spotted Callie Briggs—I repeat, we have spotted Callie Briggs—on the museum roof, over."
After hooking the radio back on the receiver, the SWAT Kats flew the Turbokat downward for a landing.
From the other side of Megakat City, now being followed by three more choppers, Feral got the message before ordering, "To the museum—quickly."
Felina, after spotting a couple of Enforcer shields, grabbed one before handing the other one to her uncle.
Upon seeing the raised eyebrow on Feral's face, Felina explained, "Just a little protection against that alien scum, Uncle."
Feral nodded before handing his niece an Enforcer gun. "Good idea, Felina—but I still want you to be careful. Back when we were facing Mutilor, I thought you were killed, but today I want you to definitely keep your guard up with what we are facing; I promised my brother that nothing bad would happen to you, and I intend to keep it, remember."
"Relax, Uncle—I'll be careful, but I won't let you down either."
After safely landing the Turbokat on the museum roof, Razor and T-Bone hopped out and ran over to the Deputy Mayor just before Feral's chopper backup arrived.
"SWAT Kats!" worriedly exclaimed Callie. "You shouldn't be here!"
"But why, Miss Briggs?" asked the smaller orange SWAT Kat in confusion.
Before she could say anything, the helicopter carrying the uncle-and-niece duo arrived; Feral and Felina climbed down the rope ladder of their chopper and rushed over to the threesome.
"Deputy Mayor," said Commander Feral, "are you all right? Did the Predator harm you in any way?"
"No, I'm all right, Commander Feral," said Callie, "but you need to get out of here quickly—all of you—it's a trap!"
All of a sudden, blue plasma came out of nowhere and blew up the helicopter Feral and Felina arrived in. The five Kats flinched from the explosion.
"Eat lead, you freak!" That was Deadeye's voice, but it sounded like it was recorded.
Whipping their heads around to where the late Kat behemoth's voice was coming from, they stared at the opened door before Thwei Halkrath, his Plasmacaster smoking, turned off his invisibility cloak; from their visors T-Bone, Razor, Commander Ulysses Feral, and Lieutenant Felina Feral saw the cold signatures outlining the Predator's body turn warm before taking the visors off again.
Growling, Thwei Halkrath stepped towards his quarry. The pilots from two of the helicopters started firing at the Predator right at his feet in an attempt to deter the alien monster from wanting to kill their fellow two Enforcers. Unfortunately that was a big mistake on their part.
Coolly, in an eerie way, Thwei Halkrath looked up at the two firing choppers and pulled out his Smart Disc before playing a recording that came from Bruno Bombay: "Blast him!"
The Predator then threw his weapon at either helicopter, the Smart Disc slicing off the propellers to both of them, causing one chopper to crash into the other before both going down and exploding.
After his Smart Disc came right back to him, Thwei Halkrath then took out his Speargun and fired at the other helicopter, destroying the controls from the inside and making the chopper malfunction. The helicopter flew a good twenty yards from the museum, with the pilot struggling with the chopper before it crashed and exploded.
While the Predator was busy shooting down the last Enforcer chopper, Felina saw the opportunity to use her gun and fired at the extra-terrestrial's Speargun, blowing it up in Thwei Halkrath's hand.
Whipping his head around, Thwei Halkrath let out a bark of anger before staring at his four adversaries. After a tense moment and slowly squaring himself with the four Kats, the Predator then unsheathed his Wristblades to their maximum length before letting out a roar that seemed to go right through the Kats, daring the four to make their moves.
"You want a piece of me, space slime?" dared Felina. "You got it!"
The headstrong She-Kat took off in a dead run with her gun and shield.
"No, Felina!" shouted a desperate Feral.
With his Speargun now in pieces, a growling Thwei Halkrath pulled out his Maul before crouching down and starting to circle around with Felina across from him, waiting for her to strike.
However, the Predator was the first to charge at Felina, his Maul upraised. As Thwei Halkrath was about to bring his lethal weapon down on top of the unprepared Enforcer Lieutenant, her uncle responded quickly and fired off his gun, blasting the Predator's Maul out of his hand the same way a vigilante would in a Western film. Almost simultaneously, Commander Feral fired off another shot and destroyed Thwei Halkrath's Plasmacaster.
While Felina was amazed by her uncle's quick-shooting, it unfortunately gave Thwei Halkrath the opportunity to shove her out of the way. With his Smart Disc in either hand, the Predator threw it at Feral.
"Hit the dirt!" exclaimed T-Bone to Razor and the Enforcer Commander as the larger yellow SWAT Kat shoved Feral out of the way of the Smart Disc; the weapon made an arc upward, slicing off a piece of the Combistick (with Callie ducking her head in the nick of time) before returning to Thwei Halkrath's hand.
"SWAT Kat," said Feral to T-Bone in a tone of confusion, astonishment, and sheepishness all rolled into one, "you saved me. Again." (A/N: For those SWAT Kats fans who don't remember, our heroes saved Commander Feral one time in the episode "Enter the Madkat.")
While the Predator wasn't looking, Felina ran at Thwei Halkrath, the latter's back turned to her, and jumped on top of the alien monster's back, but the Predator reacted quickly as he spun around and threw her down, her visor fell off of her forehead; during the process, Felina's hand got caught in one of the two cords connecting to Thwei Halkrath's mask.
While he ignored the fact that one of his cords to his mask got disconnected, Thwei Halkrath pulled out his Glaive. Felina, meanwhile, gripped at her right arm before rolling onto her back and accidentally crushing her visor, but it gave the Predator an advantage as he stomped one foot down on the She-Kat's stomach, leaving her out of breath and unable to move.
Commander Feral, acting quickly again, grabbed the severed piece of the Predator's Combistick and took off in a dead run.
A growling Thwei Halkrath wrapped his hands around his Glaive and raised his weapon slowly, his eyes on the center of Felina's chest. Feral ran behind the Predator and held the piece of Combistick against the alien monster's neck, choking him for a moment before spinning and flipping Thwei Halkrath to the ground and away from Felina, causing the Predator to drop his weapon.
Jumping back on his feet, an ominous growl rumbling in his throat, Thwei Halkrath figuratively stared down with anger at the glaring Commander Feral.
The leading Enforcer stood between the Predator and his incapacitated niece. Not taking his eyes off Thwei Halkrath, Feral crouched down and picked up the Predator's Glaive before holding it out and pointing with it in a threatening yet defensive way. "Nobody harms my niece and gets away with it, intergalactic scum."
Snarling, Thwei Halkrath held up his Wristblades before playing a second recording from Bruno Bombay: "Take this, sucker!"
However, before anything could happen, the Predator immediately got doused with quick-drying cement from the Turbokat—which was controlled by Razor—leaving the alien monster frozen where he stood.
"You like to use that thing, doncha pal?" smirked T-Bone.
"What can I say?" shrugged Razor slyly with a squinted eye. "It hasn't failed us yet."
As Felina slowly recovered, a concerned Commander Feral helped his niece up and walk over to the others. "Are you hurt, Felina?"
"Not really, Uncle—" winced Felina, gripping her right arm—"I think that Predator did a number on my arm, though."
"We'll have it checked out, Felina."
"Yo, Feral," said T-Bone with an outstretched arm as he stood next to Callie, "let me see that thing."
Feral handed the Glaive over to the larger yellow SWAT Kat, the latter using one of the bladed ends to free Callie from her bonds.
"Thank you guys," grinned the relieved Deputy Mayor, "I was worried that the Predator would have the upper hand."
"Not a chance!" smirked T-Bone.
"Speaking of the Predator," interjected Razor as he removed Thwei Halkrath's location beacon from the Turbokat and examined it, "what are we gonna do with him?"
Before anyone could answer, they heard a cracking sound. Turning their heads to the source, they noticed fissures forming on the cement-covered Predator before Thwei Halkrath broke out of his casing. Facing the five Kats and snarling with vehemence, the Predator took off his damaged Plasmacaster before slowly disconnecting his mask the rest of the way and lifting it off of his face, his vision now turning infrared. After dropping his mask, the bare-faced Predator snarled at his enemies, flames almost appearing behind his green eyes.
"Whoa, ugly!" exclaimed a wide-eyed T-Bone as the others stared in equal shock/disgust.
Thwei Halkrath roared at the five Kats before pulling out something that looked like his location beacon and threw it between him and his feline enemies, but the device blew up into a cloud of smoke. While he was protected by the detonated smoke bomb, the Predator took the advantage to make a run for it, turning his invisibility cloak on while doing so.
After a moment of coughing between the SWAT Kats, Callie, and the uncle-and-niece duo, the smoke finally cleared and the only thing left from the Predator was his damaged Plasmacaster and his mask.
"Ah, crud!" exclaimed the smaller orange SWAT Kat.
T-Bone nodded. "You took the words right out of my mouth, buddy."
Remembering the visors, the SWAT Kats and Feral took them out, but they were in pieces after diving away from the Smart Disc earlier.
"Without those visors," said Callie, looking sad, "stopping that monster will be impossible."
"What'll we do now, Uncle?" asked Felina.
"I . . ." said Feral, feeling defeated and like he had truly failed Megakat City, ". . . I don't know, Felina."
While the others were talking, Razor (with T-Bone behind him) walked over to Thwei Halkrath's mask and picked it up, examining it. The SWAT Kats then looked at each other as if they had the same idea.
"I'm sorry to say, everyone," said Feral, "but it seems that all is lost."
"Maybe not, Feral," said Razor, "maybe not." The smaller orange SWAT Kat and his partner in crime-fighting ran to the Turbokat and hopped in.
"But SWAT Kats," said Callie in confusion, "how are you going to find the Predator without those visors?"
"That's just it, Miss Briggs—" slyly answered Razor before holding up Thwei Halkrath's mask—"we don't have to use those visors."
"Go to City Hall," ordered T-Bone, "you'll be safe there—besides, it's us the Predator's after."
The Turbokat took off after Thwei Halkrath, for where the Yautja was hiding no one knew.
"I can't believe I'm saying it," said Feral as he watched the two vigilantes fly off, "but good luck, SWAT Kats. Good luck."
