Time to get back into this. I think I will be doing a chapter each day. There may be certain days were I don't post a chapter, if that happens it means I was just too busy. Oh also I will be making this story up to the end of season 1, I'll continue it after season 2 is over.
Chapter 3: Settling Down in The New World
Universe 7, North Kai's Planet.
"Hey King Kai!" Goku says while using Instant Transmission, which scares King Kai, but he composes himself quickly.
"Hello Goku, I assume you've come here to ask me about Vegeta?" King Kai responds.
"Yeah, how did you know?" Goku asks.
"I noticed that you were moving all over the place, I asked King Yemma who was the first person you went to and learned about the situation. Also, no I don't know where Vegeta is." King Kai responds.
"Oh, alright then, guess I'll go back to Supreme Kai and just wait there."
Earth, Roswaal Manor.
After dinner with Roswaal, Vegeta stayed the night before heading out to Irlam Village. But before that he wanted to talk with Subaru, pulling him into Vegeta's room so they could talk in private.
"Boy, I wanted to talk to you." Vegeta said.
"Uh ok, about what?" Subaru asked.
"Tell me, did you come from another world?" Vegeta asked, to Subaru's surprise.
"Um, yes? I don't really know how to explain it but I think so." Subaru responded.
"Did you die before entering this world?" Vegeta asks.
"Uh, not that I recall." Subaru asks.
"I see, that's what happened to me, I died, and appeared in a void where I saw a silhouette, but before I could speak, the world started to shift around me, and before I knew it I was in the capitol back where I met you." Vegeta explained, shocking Subaru.
"Really?! So I'm not the only person here from another world?" Subaru asked, also shocked that Vegeta had died before being sent over but more concerned with the fact that Vegeta isn't from here either.
"Yes, although I'm surprised that you didn't die as well." Vegeta said.
"Yeah, what killed you anyways?" Subaru asked.
"I gave my life to destroy a world ending being called Majin Buu." Vegeta said.
"Really? You sound like a hero or something." Subaru said, while smiling nervously.
"I guess you could say that, but I've committed many sins in my past, the good actions I've committed don't redeem those sins." Vegeta said, remembering his evil, past self.
Subaru doesn't say anything, but he feels a little bad, seems like Vegeta has it rough.
"Anyways, that's all I wanted to know, you can go now." Vegeta said, closing his eyes.
"Ok, see you later." Subaru said while leaving the room.
Next day.
Vegeta is getting ready to head to the village with Rem. They all say their goodbyes and part ways, Subaru goes with Ram to check his measurements.
Universe 7, Supreme Kai world.
"Hey, Supreme Kai." Goku says.
"Oh, hello Goku, I assume you're here again about Vegeta?" Supreme Kai asks.
"Yeah, anything new?" Goku asks.
"No, I've searched everywhere I can, but can't find a single sign of him, it's like he disappeared from this universe entirely." Supreme Kai says with a concerned look on his face.
"Really?! This might actually be really bad." Goku says, shocked and worried.
"Indeed...maybe you could use the Dragon Balls?" Supreme Kai asks.
"Sure." Goku says before heading to Earth.
Earth, Irlam Village.
Vegeta and Rem have just arrived. With Rem explaining the situation. The villagers decide to give Vegeta an old house that isn't owned currently. It's run down and dirty, but Vegeta cleans it up fairly quickly. The villagers give him anything necessary. Once everything was set and done, Vegeta had to head back to the mansion and teach Roswaal the basics of Ki. Rem would also teach Vegeta information on the world.
Back at Roswaal's mansion. Things are going similarly to Re:Zero, they are having Subaru helping the maids (or in this case Ram) with their usual tasks. Thinking back, Subaru remembers how strong Vegeta was, if he were doing these tasks they would be nothing to him, maybe Vegeta could train him? For now though Subaru decided to focus on his chores.
Roswaal's Office.
Vegeta steps in. Rem goes to check on Subaru and Ram.
"Oh, hello Vegeta-kun." Roswaal says.
"Hello." Vegeta responds.
Roswaal pulls out a pen and notebook.
"Now then, I don't want to waste anymore time, for starters, I would like to know everything you can do with this Ki, and what it is exactly." Roswaal says.
"Ki is a energy source existing within every living being, however most don't know how to control it, the amount of Ki you have naturally is random, some have a lot naturally and some have almost none, but it can be increased via standard strength training. Ki is mainly used to amplify the users body far beyond it's normal capabilities, but it can be used for flying, creating energy blasts called Ki blasts, and there are various techniques one can do with Ki if they know how, it can be used to create barriers that can protect you from attacks or temperatures, it can be used to heat up something, with the proper training you can also sense where someone is based on their Ki, or how strong they are based on it as well, I know almost everything about Ki, but there are things that even I don't know even though I've used it for my entire life." Vegeta explains, which Roswaal completely copied in his notebook.
"How fascinating! Now then, can you explain how to draw out my own Ki?" Roswaal asks.
Vegeta doesn't particularly enjoy teaching this, but he did make a deal so he has to.
"Ok. First, try to be completely calm and relaxed, then you listen, listen to the center of your body, until you start to hear a pull, then, you just bring it out." Vegeta explains while doing it. Author's note: There is barely any explanations on how to bring out a persons Ki in the entire series, I just copied what Gohan says when explaining it to Videl for the first time, sorry if you dislike that.
Roswaal attempts it, and does it on the first try, although struggles a bit with it, it seems that he's a fast learner.
"Ah, I did it!" Roswaal says excitedly.
"Good, you seem like a fast learner." Vegeta smirks, he's glad he won't need to be here for too long just so Roswaal can learn something very basic.
After that, the ball of energy disappears, and Roswaal exhales, he was tired due to being so focused on doing it.
"I think that's enough for now, you can leave, I will spend time practicing on this until I can form the ball of energy with ease and hold it for while." Roswaal says.
"Alright." Vegeta says before leaving, it's starting to get late so he decides to head back to the village. He sees Subaru outside in his butler uniform with Emilia. Keep in mind Subaru already got a tour of the mansion, so he wouldn't need to go through a tour here and would just start his work, meaning he would get time to spend with Emilia.
Vegeta is starting to head out back to the village and goes by Subaru and the others.
"Hey Vegeta-san." Subaru says.
"What is it, boy?" Vegeta responds.
"Before, you explained that you use Ki, and that it's why you were so strong against Elsa, could you teach me how to use Ki?" Subaru asks.
Vegeta was slightly surprised to hear this. Maybe it wouldn't be bad? Subaru seemed like a decent guy, and the only person Vegeta's really trained at all is his son, Trunks.
"I'll think about it, for now just focus on your job as a butler, and try to exercise regularly, if you don't have at least an average level of body strength there would be almost no point in me teaching you about Ki." Vegeta responds, while continuing to walk away.
"Alright." Subaru says. Happy that Vegeta is at least going to consider it.
Emilia is slightly interested in Ki, but is more focused on other things.
Earth, Universe 7.
Goku is at Capsule Corp.
"Hey Bulma." Goku says.
"Oh, hello Goku. What is it?" Bulma responds.
"I was wondering if I could borrow the Dragon Radar." Goku replies.
"Sure, what for?" Bulma asks.
"The truth is, Vegeta hasn't appeared in Otherworld, I asked Supreme Kai about it, he says he can't find Vegeta anywhere, and that it's like he isn't in this universe anymore, I wanted to ask Shenron about it." Goku responds.
"What?! This sounds bad. Hopefully Shenron can really help." Bulma responds in a slight panic, while handing Goku the Dragon Radar, first her dear Vegeta dies, sacrificing his own life to save the Earth, no, the universe, now he just disappears?
"Thanks Bulma." Goku says, while heading off to find the Dragon Balls yet again.
Earth, Roswaal Mansion, night time. A few days have passed, things have been going normally with Vegeta teaching Roswaal, and Rem teaching Vegeta, he's been helping the villagers and living normally, and Subaru has been doing his job as a butler.
"It's been a few days since Vegeta and Subaru arrived. What are your thoughts on them? By now, we should be seeing something." Roswaal asks with Ram in his lap.
"Cooking, cleaning, laundry. Subaru is useless at all of them. We haven't seen as much of Vegeta, he seems strong, and he's getting along fine with the villagers." Ram says.
"I see, what of their potential as spies?" Roswaal asks.
"I cannot deny it exists, but I think the possibility is slim. For better or worse. Specifically for worse, Subaru is too conspicuous." Ram responds.
"And if he's too conspicuous…" Roswaal says while moving his fingers across his neck signalling decapitation.
"Despite that possibility, he certainly is carefree." Roswaal says.
"So far, Vegeta has taught me sufficiently about Ki, I doubt he is a spy, if he was, why would he go out of his way to teach me about something that could greatly benefit me in the future?" Roswaal asks.
"For now, I think we should just wait and see what they do." Roswaal adds.
"Understood, Roswaal-sama." Ram responds.
Outside, Subaru is watching Emilia contacting spirits.
"It isn't that fun to watch, is it?" Emilia asks.
"When I'm with you, nothing is boring, Emilia-tan." Subaru responds.
"That makes me happy, even if you're only flattering me." Emilia says.
"Besides, we haven't had much chances to talk for the past few days." Subaru adds.
"That's right, it must be difficult for you to learn your work here." Emilia says.
"Yes it is! It's killing me! I wish I could be sequentially comforted in your arms, on your chest, and on your lap-" Subaru says comically before being cut off.
"Yeah, yeah. If you can joke around like that, you must be fine." Emilia responds before tapping him on the head, causing him to fall down.
"The moon sure is pretty." Subaru says, staring at the moon.
"Yes, it's far beyond our reach." Emilia responds, sitting next to him.
"I got a really touching response, without even trying!" Subaru says comically.
"Anyway, don't you think you're a bit lacking in ambition? Like that time with Puck, and in the capital, where you asked for my name" Emilia asks.
"You just don't get it, Emilia-tan. I want what I want at that exact moment, and want it from the bottom of my heart." Subaru says.
"Huh?" Emilia responds.
"At that time, I wanted to know your name. In a new land, nervous, and unsure of the future, I had no expectations for tomorrow. When I think about it calmly, there were probably other things I should have wanted. But I can't lie to myself." Subaru says.
"Same with the request I made to Ros-chi. I'm flat broke right now. I could cheat him out of a fortune and live it up, but I can just as easily achieve a source of livelihood, right?" Subaru adds.
"In that case, couldn't you have become a permanent guest, rather than an employee?" Emilia asks.
"I never thought of that!" Subaru says while sitting up in a panic, comically."
Emilia gets surprised, looking at his injuries.
"Oh, man, talk about pathetic. You should keep your efforts a secret, huh?" Subaru says, while jumping back a bit with his hands behind his back, hiding his injuries.
"Do you want me to use my healing magic?" Emilia asks.
"Nah, I'm fine like this." Subaru responds.
"Why?" Emilia asks.
"It's kind of hard to explain, but...Well, this is proof of the effort I put in." Subaru says while looking at his injuries.
"I don't actually dislike exerting myself, you know. Learning to do something I couldn't do before. Well, it's not so bad." Subaru adds.
"That's right. Yes, I think you're right. Really, Subaru, you idiot." Emilia says.
"Hey, what's with that reaction? This is where you fall for me, all over again." Subaru says while making a funny pose.
"I never initially fell for you!" Emilia says while closing her eyes and looking away.
"Honestly, you're so silly." Emilia adds.
"EMA." Subaru says.
"Huh?" Emilia responds.
"It's short for "Emilia-tan, major angel."" Subaru says.
"I'm thanking you, and you're joking around again!" Emilia says.
"Anyway, I know you're working hard, but how did your hands get so torn up?"
"I cut this one with knives in the kitchen. And this is from the evening when I went shopping in town, and a little animal some kids were playing with bit me." Subaru says.
"It wasn't the result of your effort?" Emilia asks.
"Those kids were ruthless, hitting and kicking me, and rubbing their runny noses on me. It sucked, damn it." Subaru responds.
Extra Scene:
Rem and Subaru head out to the village for groceries. In the village, they meet up with Vegeta and greet each other. Obviously, Subaru is bitten by the Shaman dog, Vegeta notices that the dog has a strange, dark Ki, but ignores it signature, bit ignores it. So it plays out almost the exact same as normal.
Main scene:
"You do seem like you'd be good with small children, Subaru." Emilia says.
"I know! Wanna come with me tomorrow, to get revenge-I mean, to watch the kids and the small animal? We could say hi to Vegeta also!" Subaru asks.
"It isn't that I don't want to go with you…" Emilia responds nervously.
"Then let's go." Subaru says.
"But if I'm with you, it might cause trouble for you." Emilia says.
"Okay, got it! Let's go!" Subaru responds.
"Are you listening to me?" Emilia asks.
"I am! I hang on every word you say, Emilia-tan!" Subaru says.
"Jeez...Only during a break from my studies and when your work is done, all right?" Emilia asks.
"All right! Roger that!" Subaru responds excitedly while heading off.
Subaru heads off to bed with joy for tomorrow.
"Crap! I can't sleep while thinking about this!" Subaru says.
"Oh, I know!" Subaru says. Then starts counting Pucks until he sleeps.
That's where I'll end the chapter for now.
