Dr. Thompson wasn't surprised to find his patient out of bed, but he still chastised, "Commander McGarrett, you should be in your own bed." he regretted the words the second they left his mouth as four sets of eyes bored holes into him.

"Fine," he conceded, "the results are back. You did indeed have a pinched nerve in your back. The site is still swollen. You have a mild case of whiplash and a moderate concussion. I'm going to swap out the hard collar for a soft one just to give your neck a bit of support for a couple of days. Due to the concussion, I'm going to admit you for at least twenty-four hours for observation. Any questions?"

"Is being admitted really necessary?" Steve asked.

"You did lose consciousness. I highly recommend it."

"Dad," Arianna whispered.

"Fine," Steve groused.

"Good, now how about we move back to the other bed and I'll switch out the collar," Dr. Thompson demanded more than requested.

Before Steve could stand, the attending for Arianna entered the room. "This a private party or can anyone join?"

"The more the merrier," Danny joked.

"Fabulous. I have the results of your scans," Dr. Kai said.

As the doctor was looking down at her clipboard, Arianna had to wait until Danny translated before she could respond. She also didn't see Kono lean over to whisper into the woman's ear.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Dr. Kai said making sure she was facing her patient. "I've got your results. You have a mild concussion and some deep tissue bruising to your hip. I'm going to subscribe some muscle relaxants and crutches. I want you to use them to keep from putting your full weight on your hip for a couple of weeks or so to give the tissue time to heal. You'll gradually be able to put more weight on it. Let your body dictate its readiness. Any questions?"

"Not that I can think of," Arianna replied.

"Okay then, I'll send the physical therapist down to show you how to use the crutches properly and you'll be free to go," Dr. Kai finished with a smile.

Dr. Thompson, apparently decided to save himself a headache, so he switched out the cervical collars while Steve stayed seated on the side of Arianna's bed. "The nurse will be in soon to get you to your room." he informed the room as a whole.

"Danny, will you stay long enough to be able to take Arianna home?" Steve requested.

Before he could answer Arianna said, "There's no need for that. I'm going to stay with you a while then I'll grab a taxi. That is if I can get one of you to retrieve my purse and house keys from the wreckage."

Kono came up with a compromise before anyone could argue. "How about I'll get your stuff, then I'll swing by later with them and give you a ride home." As her tone broke no argument, everyone agreed.

Danny and Kono prepared to leave with a promise that someone would call with a room number once Steve was settled. It wasn't too long after their departure that the crutches arrived. Arianna had just gotten the hang of them when an orderly came in to take Steve to a room.
