Author's note: Hey guys, Idk if you guys have read a really short ship I made afew weeks ago, that was solo because ThePrinceofNone wouldn't edit and I was like "Okay then this could be a chance to improve on my writing." Anywho I again apologize for the length of this chapter and the amount of time it took me to write because writers block is a major biatch. Plus I took the time to catch up some work as well as read take personal notes. So next chapter should be posted by next week and should be longer...hopefully. Hope you guys enjoy!
Chapter 3
"Fecking hell! Warn me before you do that!" Spark yelled, rubbing his head. "Ugh, that fucking hurt..."
Twilight looked at him sheepishly. "Sorry about that. I forgot it's a shock for most ponies to undergo if they aren't used to it."
Spark looked around. "Well, whatever, where are we?" He asked.
"This is the apartment that you and the mare in question are currently staying in." She said, looking around at the different doors and their room numbers.
She stopped; having spotted the one that she was looking for. "However, since you don't have a key and no one would be at the front desk this late at night since the building has just been built we will have to ask for an arrangement to be made."
Knocking on the door with her hoof she waited for the occupant to answer. Spark wobbled over, still a little dizzy.
"So, what's going to happen if she says that I can't stay in her apartment for the night?" Spark asked.
"I'm not sure; I guess you could stay at the library? But I do have preparations to attend to for the celebration, and I was planning to work through the night to get them done. Though at this point I feel like I should just forget about them…" She contemplated.
"Yeah I guess-" Spark began but he stopped midsentence as the door opened to a little filly standing in the door frame. "A little filly?" Spark questioned in his mind.
She looked from the princess, to Spark, and back to the princess, frowning deeper with each sweep of her gaze. "H-hello?" .
Twilight cleared her throat. "Hello Dinky. Sorry for the late intrusion; but is Derpy home? We need to speak with her."
The little filly bowed her head, and she spoke with a quiver in her voice. "S-she hasn't been home all d-day. I'm g-getting worried."
"Oh my… I'm sorry Dinky." Twilight walked over patting Dinky on her head. "Maybe-" Spark put his hoof on Twilight's side, cutting her off and causing her to look at him.
Spark looked at her, his eyes widening as he remembered the events from earlier..
"Wait a second…" Spark thought. "Derpy...Oh damn; how could I have been so stupid?" He pulled Twilight back and started talking in a low whisper.
h-"I'm not sure but I think I may know what might have happened to her."
"You do?"
"Well that mare, what was her name? Rainbow Dash? Well, Rainbow Dash seemed to have upset Derpy earlier, and Derpy ran off crying. I can't believe I didn't remember that at both the mention of her name earlier and hearing it so many times after." Spark bit his lower lip in thought.
"Then do you know exactly where she ran off to?" Twilight asked.
"No clue. I could go looking for her, but that would make this little filly have to sit here all alone even longer... Wait, didn't you say she was a mail mare at one point?"
"Yes; what about it?"
"I think I have a plan. But I'm going to need your help again."
Twilight sighed. "I'm guessing I won't be able to do any work for the night."
"Well that depends if you can work and look after a tired and worried filly at the same time." Spark smiled softly with the formulation of his plan.
"Excuse me?"
"I'll explain later; for now are you willing to take Dinky to your home and look after her?"
"I guess but what are you going to do?" Twilight asked, not seeing a point to this.
"I'm going to leave a note and look for her of course." Spark said.
"Leave a note?" Twilight asked still not undersnadding.
"I'll explain later, like I said."
"So what do we tell Dinky?"
Spark looked at Dinky, put on a false smile, and walked over to her.
"Hey Dinky. Sorry about your mother, but as Twilight here was going to tell you, Derpy wanted you to come home with her if she didn't come back by now."
Dinky looked up at him with teary eyes.
"She did?"
"Yup and she also asked us to leave a note. Would you happen to have a pencil and a piece of paper? I'll do it so you two can get on out of here."
"Mommy says that I should never leave without her permission…"
"However she did say we are friends didn't she?" Twilight asked.
"Well I guess so…" She looked from Twilight to Spark then ran back in and came back with a piece of paper, a pencil, and a key. She put the paper and pencil in front of Spark and walked next to Twilight.
"Here you go mister. And Ms. Princess Twilight, I'm ready to go. Um...can you please lock the door for me? I can't reach it by myself and I can't control my magic very well."
"Sure." Twilight answered; using her magic to levitate the key into the door that she was closing at the same time. With the door closed and locked she handed the key back to Dinky.
"Well Spark, are you going to be O.K. on your own?"
"I'll manage. Thanks again Twilight."
"It was my pleasure. Alright Dinky, this may hurt but the pain won't last long, so hold on to me and don't let go."
"'Kay…" Dinky grabbed onto Twilight and with they were gone, leaving Spark standing in the hallway alone.
