Tim sat on the island counter surrounded by a mountain of textbooks, a stack of papers, and his trusty laptop. He was flipping through pages of numerous books and scribbling down information as Kagome came into the dining room. He didn't stop his researching but greeted her anyways.
"Hey Kags. How was the first day?"
The blue-eyed girl just shrugged as she took off her backpack and set it on one of the tall chairs by the counter. "Hi Tim-kun. It was fine. Nothing very interesting though." She shrugged off her blazer and hung it on her chair. Sitting across from her brother, Kagome eyed her brother's work curiously. "What'cha up to?"
"Research paper." He drawled as he folded down pages and started to scribble information on paper.
"For History?" Kagome asked, peering at spines of the textbooks. The miko couldn't help but notice the titles being famous Japanese works.
The younger teen nodded his head in response. His emerald eyes were now trained on the laptop screen in front of him and fingers were pressing keys at top speed."Mr. Edelman wants the class to write a research report on any piece of Japanese folklore. I'm doing it on 'The Tale of Princess Kaguya'."
The girl's form stiffened as memories were pushed to the forefront of her mind.
Tim didn't seem to notice because he kept babbling on. "It was one of the legends I got hooked on when we learned about them in class. Originally, I was going to do it on the Shikon Jewel, but I couldn't find much. All my sources were too vague."
As more memories began to rush at her, she quickly shook her head to regain her composure. Keys stopped clacking and Tim's spine straightened to face his older sister. A thought had suddenly occurred to him and he peered at the miko's face. "Wait, Kagome, have you heard anything about the legend of Princess Kaguya? Anything I could look up and put in my paper?"
"Actually, yeah." She let out a strained laugh. "It was part of the circular in 9th grade, so I know it fairly well." 'And because I was personally kidnapped by her.' But, the miko decided to keep that last bit to herself.
