Ch 4 Love somebody

Peter pov

"So you guys can get home safely, but your buddy who can't get drunk doesn't come home. Something's up." Pepper chided the guys at breakfast the next day. "Umm, Pepper? Steve brought them home and left early this morning." Nat reminded Pepper that Steve did come home. He left in a good mood and didn't even have his coffee.

Steve's pov
I went to the coffee house with Beth a few weeks after we met. It was early in the morning and after that took a walk in the park. Beth's blonde hair glistened in the sunlight and she looked even more beautiful in the morning. She wore a pale blue dress, her hair was in a long braid over her right shoulder. "My favorite war that we learned about in school was World War II. It always fascinated me." Beth had told me over coffee. "It was a difficult war to win and I heard that we did win. But no one told me at what cost did we win at." I had replied to her declaration. "That must have been hard to wake up in a really different time huh? I was in a coma a few years ago, it lasted about 6 months, but I missed many great songs and technology achievements." Beth consoled me by relating something similar. "How did you get in the coma?!" I asked. "I was on my way home from my cousins' house on my uncle, their dad's funeral, and I got hit by a car who ran a red light." She shrugged like it was no big deal. We talked for what felt like a few minutes, but when Beth's phone alarm rang she said. "I'm gonna be late to work, it's already 12 o'clock." I asked if she wanted a ride to work but her work was right by us. I walked with her to her work and I said that she should stop by the tower sometime. She said that she would and she said that she would love to go out to get coffee sometime soon as well. She reminded me to go ask to volunteer at the orphanage, today.

Jane's pov
Thor and are going to Asgard in a few days. I told the girls that I was going to be at Asgard for the next few days, at the house party we had for Pepper and her baby.

We found out that Pepper was pregnant and we had a party at the house with Gwen, Nat, Pepper, Peter and I while the guys went to the bar to celebrate. Peter and Gwen are 19 so Peter wouldn't have been allowed in the bar so he stayed home and did not watch us. Pepper went to bed early so as soon as she left Nat pulled out her Russian vodka. We let out a celebration cheer. She gave some to the three of us, even Gwen. After we each received a glass or few we had a helluva party ourselves. Peter and Gwen did not have more than 2 glasses. They said that they watched us, laughed and took us to our floors. Or so they say but I believe that they left us and Steve took us to our rooms after we passed out.

Nat's pov
Later that in the week early in the morning
Thor and Jane left in a thunder storm and Steve came into dinner late which is abnormal for him and he announced that he is volunteering at the local orphanage. And now he wants everyone to volunteer as well. Pepper is pregnant, Tony is freaked, Banner has locked himself in the lab so he can finish something, and Clint suspects Steve of something, he's not sure totally what but he does. And Peter and Gwen are thinking about taking up the volunteering offer with Steve, Peter is going to find out what Steve is hiding through it. And I'm going on a mission tonight. So that's what's up in the tower life. I also plan to find out what Steve is half hiding.

50 minutes later
I know what Steve is hiding now. He met a girl named Beth, who is related to someone in the tower (which he does not know yet), works at Coney Island, and has an adorable golden retriever. I was up early in the morning and was punching the punching bag when Steve came down the stairs. I let him warm up a bit before we sparred. While we were sparring we talked as if I didn't know about Beth, then I surprised him by saying, "Beth is a nice match for you." He faltered a moment and I took the opportunity to put him in a headlock. He quickly recovered and tried to flip me off him, but he ended up falling with me on top. "I win!" I smiled and got up. "How... Did... How did you find out?" he stammered. "Easy. I'm a spy remember?" He just smiled and begged me not to tell the team about her yet. "Spidey and Gwen will see her at the orphanage, and Clint suspects something now he is not sure what, but he does." I warned as he was about to head upstairs to get ready to go to the orphanage. "Thanks Natasha." he called down gratefully as he walked up the stairs. I just smiled cause I knew that the tower would know soon enough.
