Sorry for not uploading in a while. I had writer's block but I am back now. I only own Rebekah.

Chapter 4 Prove It

To say that the tension backstage wasn't tense would have been an understatement. Rebekah headed to the back and just as soon as they were behind the curtains Randy was cursing under his breath. He kept asking if Rebekah was ok and if she needed anything. She knew that he was really worried about her and she knew it was because of what happened out in the ring. Ted, John, and Ted were pissed about it just like Randy was. She sighed and told them that she would see them in the next city. She wanted to travel alone where no one would hassle her about something that was out of their control anyway.

She knew it wasn't their fault anymore then it was hers. When she actually got back to John's locker room she headed straight for the showers. She quickly showered and gathered her things. The guys were already on the road so she was the only one left. Randy wanted her to travel with them but she refused saying she needed time to herself. She had quite a bit of things to think about and wanted the time to do just that without someone asking if she was ok or staring at her. Silence to her was golden at times when the mind had a lot going on. Rebekah headed out of the arena and headed straight for her rental. She threw her bags in the back of the car and got in. She tried to start the car but it wasn't starting. She kept trying for several minutes but to no avail. It just wasn't starting. She rested her head against the steering wheel for a minute.

This can't be happening to me especially right now.

She went to look for her phone and realized she didn't have it with her. She never got it back from Ted when he was playing a game on it earlier. Panic shot through her body and her heart started racing. She didn't know what she was going to do. She looked around and there was only one other vehicle in the parking lot. Maybe she could get a ride with them. She got out of the car and waited to see. She heard laughter coming from the arena as the doors opened but she stood froze in shock when she realized who it was. She ignored them and tried to think of something she could do.

Shit. There is no way I can get a ride with them. No fucking way.

She slid down the car until she was sitting on the concrete pavement. She brought her knees to her chest and put her head on top of her knees. If all else failed she could always go to a payphone and call someone.

No I can't do that. They are probably at the airport now or well on their way. Damn it. I am screwed.

Four men came closer to her and one of them looked over at her. She sat there debating what to do when it started to pour rain. She hugged the jacket close to her already wet body. She put the hood up and zipped up the jacket.

Can it get any worse?

"Are you ok?" a voice asked her. Rebekah sighed in frustration at the question and rolled her eyes.

"What does it look like?" Rebekah spoke in annoyance. She glanced over at the person speaking. She would rather be anywhere but there. If the world could swallow her up hole she would be happier.

"Well from where I am standing it looks like you either locked yourself out of your car or you are just enjoying getting rained on." She heard a few chuckles which only made her madder then she already was.

"Fuck off," she growled as she looked away from them.

"Are you always this way with people?"

"No. Just people like you."

"You have no idea who I am." Rebekah smirked. She stood up and glared over at the person before her.

"Oh, I know you better then you think, Wade." Wade folded his arms across his chest. Just who the hell did she think she was? He couldn't see her face but he thought the voice sounded familiar. He couldn't place it though.

"I highly doubt that."

"You would be surprised." Wade smirked.

"So are you going to tell me why you are out her standing by your car in the pouring rain?"

"Why does it matter to you anyway?" Wade glared at her. She was being difficult and he wasn't sure what her problem was exactly.

"Do you want help or not?"

"Why would you want to help me?"

"Because from where I am standing it looks like you could use the help."

"Yeah. I've seen the kind of help you give out and I am not interested nor do I want your help," she said standing her ground against him. She wasn't about to let him help her out.

"Rebekah?" Wade asked as recognition finally hit him.

"The one and only." Rebekah smirked when she heard him let out a frustrated sigh. She saw him walk away and thought she had defiantly put him in his place. The next thing she knew she felt herself being lifted over someone's shoulder. She started to squirm around but it was no use.

"If you don't put me down I will scream and trust me I have a good pair of lungs," she yelled threateningly. All she heard was a slight chuckle and she was put in a car. She tried to get free but she couldn't. The car pulled out and she tried to unlock the door planning on jumping out.

"I am so glad this thing has child proof doors," a voice said. Rebekah let out a frustrated sigh. She glared over at the person beside her and started to shiver. She didn't like this one bit. She hated the position she was currently in. She didn't understand why or what the hell was going on. She didn't move from the spot for a few hours. They stopped to take a break from driving and to use the restroom. She sat motionless in the car. Her emotion was blank and her guard was up. She only stared out the window.

"We are stopping to eat. You are going in whether you like it or not," Wade spoke harshly. He was in no mood for her bullshit. She didn't say a word or show any emotion which bugged the hell out of him. He didn't like not being able to read her. It made him somewhat uneasy but he wasn't going to let the guys know that. He was their leader and therefore he had to act like one. He couldn't let them know that this diva was getting to him. They got out of the vehicle and made their way into the restaurant.

Rebekah followed not bothering to say anything. She sat on the inside of the booth as close to the window as she could. She stared off into the night hoping they would get to the next city soon. She didn't like being with people she didn't trust at all. She knew she couldn't trust them. Not after what happened tonight. She would rather just ignore them and when she got to the next place she would leave them and never have to deal with them outside of work again. She felt like a caged animal as she sat there with her coat pulled close to her body.

Wade kept glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. She looked absolutely miserable like she would rather die than be where she was. He couldn't say that he didn't blame her. She didn't know a thing about them and she didn't seem to want to say anything at all. He noticed that she was sitting so close to the window like she wanted to jump out of it. What really got him was the look on her face. She was still emotionless and she sat motionless much like she did in the car. He could tell that her wall was up and that it wasn't coming down anytime soon, if it ever did. She seemed like one that kept her guard up all the time. He was much the same way. He would rather hide his emotions then feel them. But even he couldn't keep the guard up all the time. That's what got him. How was she able to keep hers up all the time? Or was it just around people she didn't know? He was sure her friends seen her with it down but he couldn't be too sure without seeing it for himself.

"You know it's not all that bad. If we wanted to hurt you we would have already," Wade said as he took another bite.

"You did hurt me though remember?" she asked still not moving.

"What are you talking about?" the person beside her asked.

"Justin. Am I correct?"

"Yeah," he said looking at her cautiously. She put down her hood and unzipped her jacket, only enough to show them what she was talking about. That was when he noticed who she really was. He wasn't sure because all Wade said was that she was traveling with them and nothing more. She tilted her head to reveal a bruise on her neck. The look on her face went from emotionless to full of anger.

"This bruise was left on me by one of your very own men when he tried to chock the very life out of me earlier tonight. I don't believe you for one second that you are any different and that you wouldn't hurt me again. I didn't even want to ride with you but looks like I had no choice. Just like I didn't have a choice but stand out there helpless while someone chocked the living hell out of me," she growled at them.

The three men at the table were at a loss for words. Wade didn't know she was even in danger by his men until Randy looked at the bruise and threatened him. He didn't like what he saw but he really didn't know who did it. Anger started to boil inside him. He was raised to never hit a woman and he didn't know that she was a victim of one of his own men. He would definitely have a talk with his men.

"Do you know who it was that did it? Better yet what he looked like?" Wade asked trying to remain calm. He didn't know why he was getting mad but that bruise on her neck was large and he wasn't sure if she would be able to hide it for the next show or not.

"Why? So he can do it again? I only was ringside and he was trying to kill me just for that. I wasn't the only one to suffer from the attack on the outside."

"You shouldn't have been a ringside," the guy with a southern drawl said. Rebekah glared at the man.

"I am the valet of Cena. I have to be a ringside you dumbass. I have been for half a year and I'm not about to stop now just because you assholes feel the need to attack him and me. It was a good thing Randy, Ted, and Ted showed up when they did. Especially Randy. I can't wait until he kicks your ass," she said raising her voice. She was starting to get pissed.

"I think I liked her better when she didn't speak," the guy with the southern drawl said.

"Heath shut it. So you're the valet of Cena huh? Well I guess we will be seeing a lot of each other then. I look forward to Randy trying to kick my ass," Wade said in amusement. He was starting to like the fire in her eyes as she told Heath off.

Finally some emotion in her.

"There won't be any trying about it. You don't know what you have just done." Rebekah smirked as she thought of the destruction to come.

"And what is that, love?" Wade asked leaning back in the booth. His eyebrow raised and he locked eyes with her. The fire danced in her eyes as he could see the anger within them.

"First off I am not your love nor will I ever be so don't call me that. Secondly they don't call him the Viper for nothing. If you continue to come after me and Cena then you will be dealing with all of us. The Viper, Ted and Ted as well. We may seem to be outnumbered but that is where you are sadly mistaken," she said as she glared at him. He chuckled at her response before responding back.

"I look forward to a challenge. For now you are outnumbered so the odds are in our favor. Why would that change?" Wade asked trying to push her buttons. He liked seeing her show emotions even if it was anger directed at him.

"You cross me and you will be taken out quicker than you can say sorry," she said with a smirk on her face. She looked at Justin who was sitting there with a shocked. "Move your ass. I want out."

"Justin don't move. Like I said I welcome the challenge. You really don't know who I am or what I am capable of," Wade said when a smirk spread across his face.

"Nor do I really care enough to know. If you don't move I will make you. Besides where would I go besides out to get air? We are in the fucking middle of nowhere."

"Wouldn't want to risk losing precious cargo now would we?" Wade said making her skin crawl. She rolled her eyes and then hit Justin in the ribs as hard as she could.

"Damn it! What the hell?"

"I said MOVE." Justin just sat there holding his ribs. She rolled her eyes and hit him in the same spot as hard as possible two more times before he got up. She quickly stood up and bolted out of the door. She was so glad to be out of there. She took in a deep breath of fresh air. She couldn't wait to get back to her friends. Away from this hell. Compared to this anything would be better. She put her hood back up and waited of them to get done.

Wade and the guys hurried up after she left. Wade wanted to get back on the road and get there as soon as possible. He didn't mind her company but it seemed that she wouldn't be an easy person to get along with. She hated him for what happened to her. She didn't want to budge from that dislike either. He sighed in frustration as they headed to the car. It was his turn to sit beside her in the back of the car. He wasn't looking forward to it. When they got in the car she was the same as she was in the diner. She sat so close to the door he thought that if she could she would jump out of the car while it was moving just to get away from them.

Not even an hour later he looked over at her and noticed how tired she was. She was leaning to her right side and he knew that it was a matter of minutes before she would fall over. Question was would he let her lean on him and get some rest or push her away? Just like he predicted she did lean on him but not the way he expected her to. Instead of leaning against his shoulders she fell into his lap. A million thoughts ran through his mind at this time. What should he do? Should he leave her alone and let her sleep? Should he lean her against her window or place her back in the sit so she could lean back and sleep? He was just about to move her when she moved. He froze as the position she was in confused him. Instead of lying down on her side she managed to turn on her back so her face was facing him. He took this moment to really look at her.

The sight nearly took his breath away. She looked so peaceful and happy at that moment. It was as if nothing was bothering her. As if she was at peace with the world. Her blondish brown hair was curled and fell perfectly in the hood she still had up. Her lips had a faint smile on them so apparently she was having a good dream. That made him smile. Her cream colored skin suited her. She wasn't black but she wasn't white either. He didn't' think it was a tan. He assumed one of her parents was black and the other one was white.

He didn't know how long he sat there observing her beauty but he was jerked from his thoughts when she turned on her side facing him. He froze once again. He was afraid if he moved then she would wake up and leave his lap. He assumed she was having a bad dream because her arms grabbed at his shirt while she buried her face in it. He was torn on what to do. Should he just sit there or hold her? He chose the latter when she started to shiver. He pulled her close careful not to wake her up. He began rubbing her back gently.

"Why are you doing this to me? What did I do to you?" she mumbled. He froze and looked down at her. Was she speaking to him or was she dreaming? He waited a few minutes and realized she was dreaming but about what he wasn't sure. It could be anything. Someone could have seriously hurt her or broke her heart. It was then that he thought of the bruise on her neck. He vowed to never let that happen to her ever again. He knew that with her being the target of Nexus because of Cena it would be damn near impossible to watch her every move. He would make sure no one laid a hand on her. They could spook her but nothing more. He vowed in that moment to protect her even if she didn't want it.

He leaned his head back against the seat and closed his eyes. He thought about a better way to go about the storyline with Nexus and Cena. He would simply talk it over with the guys and if they didn't listen then severe consequences would be made. He wasn't going to let her get hurt anymore by his men. It wasn't his intention for her to be harmed. After several minutes with his eyes closed he drifted off to sleep.

"Ok looks like we are here," Justin said turning around. He looked at the two of them confused. Rebekah was still in Wade's lap and he was leaning back against the seat. Both were out like a light bulb. Health noticed it to and got out of the car. He opened the trunk while Justin got out of the car. He opened Wade door and shook him. Wade opened his eyes and looked at Justin.

"We are here." Wade simply nodded and looked down. He didn't want to wake her but he knew he would have to. He started to shake her gently. She began to stir. When she opened her eyes she looked up at Wade with her hazel eyes. Her eyes widened with she realized she was in his lap. She sat up immediately but was about to get out of the car when she felt Wade grab her arm. She looked at him not sure what emotions to even feel.

"Don't you think you held me hostage enough?" Rebekah asked him.

"You know you keep proving me right." She raised her eyebrow at him.

"How do you figure?"

"When I said you really don't know me."

"I haven't known you long to really know you. Besides, I know what I see in the ring and trust me I am not impressed one bit. You may be a good wrestler but I guess we will never know because you choose to hide behind lackeys. You would rather bark out orders then show the world just how great of a wrestler you can be. I am not impressed in the slightest."

"See? You judge me by what I do in the ring rather than for who I really am. Not saying I didn't see this coming when I first joined the business but I would like to hope that someone like you would see me differently," Wade said locking eyes with her. Emotion played in both of their eyes. She seen hurt and pain in his eyes. Her eyes said the way she felt which was untrusting.

"If you wanted to make such an impression with me then you wouldn't have acted the way you did towards me."

"I did this out of helping you. You just didn't want to let me help you because of what happened in the ring."

"Look, I get it that you have to act all big and bad in front of your boys but that isn't helping your case one bit."

"How can I show you differently?"

"Prove it."

"How would you like me to do that, love?"

"If it is really important to you then show me who you really are and leave the rest to me. " She wasn't sure why he wanted to show her who he really was. A few hours back he seemed to just want to get a rise out of her and now he wanted to show her he was different. She wasn't sure what changed between then and now.

"Like I said earlier I love a good challenge."

"Good luck. You are going to need it because as of right now my friends hate your guts. The chances of you showing me one on one are going to be damn near impossible. I do have to ask though. Why do you want to show me who you really are? What changed between dinner and here?"

"What I did in the ring is the only way I know to make an impact here in the WWE. I took a storyline and ran with it. Nothing more or less than that. I wasn't told a woman would be involved in it. Trust you me that will be taken care of soon." A confused look crossed her face but she didn't bother to ask him what he meant.

"In my book actions speak louder than any words you can say. You can tell me who you are until you are blue in the face but it doesn't change a thing to me." Before he could say another word to her she hugged him. The action took him by surprised and he let go of her. She took this opportunity to get out of the car. He smiled as he thought about what she just did. He was looking forward to working with her, more then he wanted to admit.

She rushed over to the trunk and grabbed her bags. She looked at Justin. "I am truly sorry for the ribs. I hope they aren't too sore."

"Don't worry about it. I will be fine. I have taken much worse although you do pack a hell of a punch," Justin said causing both of them to laugh.

"I learned from the best in the business. Randy Orton and John Cena," Rebekah winked before heading into the hotel. She checked in and turned around. She was so happy to see a friendly face.

"Ted!" she yelled hoping he would hear her. When he turned around she smiled. She ran over to him which in turn caused him to smile. He put his arm around her pulling her in for a side hug.

"How was your trip?"

"Long. How was yours?" She didn't want him to get upset over the fact she traveled with Wade, Heath, and Justin.

"Mine was pretty good. As good as you can get traveling with John, Randy and Cody. Just do me a favor next time you travel by yourself, should you chose to do that again, take this with you," he said as he handed her the phone. Her face lit up as she finally seen her phone again. "Don't worry I covered for you. No need to thank me," he said with a laugh. She laughed along with him and hugged him tight.

"Thanks Teddy. You are the best."

"I know. I know. How about you repay me by buying my drinks tonight at the club?"

"You got it. Anything for my Teddy," Rebekah said smiling. Ted grinned from ear to ear.

"I am glad you think I'm yours," he said causing the two of them to burst out in a fit of giggles.

"Oh, Ted darling. You are simply too much," she said causing him to smirk.
