Andromeda walked as in trance into the Great Hall. The castle was in ruins and instead of tables and benches it was the corpses after the battle that were lined up in the middle of the hall. It was suppose too be honorable but it only come off as macabre. Death had no glory.

People all around her chattered and took a united breath of relief, like it was spring after a hard winter. She saw none of it. She searched for the familiar pink hair among the dead but also among the living. Because maybe, by a miracle, the message she had received was wrong. Maybe there still was hope.

She could see it so clearly before her; Dora with her bright hair, cheering up some kids with jokes. A bit bruised and battered but alive and spreading joy. Instead Andromeda found a girl with fright and death in her eyes where it once had been a humorous gleam. She nearly passed the gray, broken frame but this was undoubted her Nymphadora. Her baby.

The hall suddenly becomes cold.

Druella Black had been right all along, fairy tales was nothing more than stories and happy endings didn't exist.

Her chest felt heavy and her heart empty.

For the first time in her life Andromeda was all alone, without her family, without anyone to love her. She fell to her knees on the blood spilled floor. She embraced her daughter for the last time and let go of a slip of paper.

The end.

A/N

This chapter was really hard to write (I might have cried a bit writing it), with lots of hard emotions to capture. I hope you're not disapointed. From the begining I knew what I wanted this ending to be like but I coudn't get the words right. I'm sorry it took three years...
