Moonlight Curse: Black Feathers

4th Chapter

(Someone's saying Goodbye and Farewell)

Daisuke woke up. But he saw his family, together with Riku and Risa.

Daisuke's mother was very sad.

"Mother, what is the matter? Why are you crying?" Daisuke asked.

"Because…." Emiko cried.

She cried in despair.

Kosuke comforted Daisuke, but then cried.

"Come with us, we'll show you why…" Kosuke exclaimed

Together they went on a hospital.

"Why are we here?" Daisuke curiously asked.

He turned around and saw his grandfather, lying down on a bed.

"Sofu! Sofu!" Daisuke said.

(In other words, Sofu is the Japanese translation of Grandfather)

Daisuke cried.

"Daisuke…." Risa said.

Riku came to worry for him too.

Riku comforted Daisuke.

"Daisuke-kun, Niwa-kun, cry, let your feelings outrage…" Riku said.

Risa looked away.

"Sofu!" Daisuke kept crying.

His tears fell down.

"Father…" Kosuke said.

All were crying in despair.

Dark, on the other hand, was crying too.

Dark remembered the last time they talked. It was last night.

They were on the seaside, sitting on the sand.

The waves were roaring highly.

"Dark, I had a favor for you…." Daiki said.

"A favor?" Dark asked, in a conscious voice.

"This is one in a lifetime request. It is not a mission or something. This is about my personal life…." Daiki replied.

"Wha- What is it?" Dark asked.

"If I pass away…Please take care of my family….You are once my guardian angel and now, you're on Daisuke's company. So I beg of you, please take care of the Niwa family…." Daiki said.

"Gramps, why are you saying those things during this time?" Dark asked.

Daiki glanced at him.

"Who knows? I am old enough and anytime, I would pass away, neither it's bad for me, I admit it…." Daiki said.

"I had a heart disease so it's not possible for me to survive. Who knows? Maybe tonight was my last stand…." Daiki added.

"No…It won't happen, Gramps." Dark said.

Daiki comforted Dark.

"I am sorry, Dark. But I am just saying it for me to prepare…" Daiki said.

Dark started to cry.

"Daisuke will be sad if you die, not only him, the whole Niwa family and it's friends and relatives….Come to think of it!" Dark cried.

He cried.

Daiki's tears fell down too.

"You know, it's also bad for my feelings but…." Daiki said.

He stopped for a while.

He gazed on the sky.

He pointed on a star.

"Dark, if I were gone, just look at that star….I will be there…" Daiki said.

He cried.

"Gramps…" Dark cried.

They comforted each other.

"Gramps…" Dark cried.

"My grandson….I will miss you…." Daiki cried.

The falling star fell down and showed up.

Dark started to cry.

"Gramps…." He exclaimed.

Daisuke entered the room.

"Sofu….." Daisuke said.

Daiki opened his eyes.

"My grandson…." Daiki said.

Daisuke comforted his grandfather.

"Gramps…." Daisuke said.

Daiki smiled.

"Daisuke, I had a favor…" Daiki said.

"What is it?" Daisuke cried.

Daisuke's emotion was getting deeper.

"Daisuke." Risa thought as she was watching.

"Look how time was fast, you was once a young boy before but look, you're now a young man who was going to ravel his future and have a happy life together with the woman he loved…..ages have passed and now I think it was time for me to rest…." Daiki exclaimed.

"Don't say that Gramps….You are not going to die…You won't!" Daisuke cried.

He cried.

"Stop crying my boy….Haha…Just look at the biggest star everytime you wanted to see me….I will be there, I promise…" Daiki said.

"Gramps…" Daisuke cried.

The whole family entered the room and comforted Daiki.

"Father…." Kosuke and Emiko cried.

"Gramps…." Daisuke cried.

The air was filled with despair.

Risa started to cry.

Riku comforted her.

"My sister, why are you crying?" Riku asked.

"Who wouldn't? I was pretty affected with them….My heart melted." Risa said.

"You are right…" Riku said.

She started to cry too.

When she turned around, she saw Dark, crying.

"Dark…" Riku said.

Riku comforted Dark.

Dark was surprised.

"Dark-kun….I can't believe you are crying too…." Riku said.

They went to the garden and they talked.

"I was pretty affected this time…." Dark exclaimed.

"Why? I thought you're just a numb one….But I was wrong…You also have the heart….The heart of a normal person…" Riku said.

"We talked last night….And that was pretty emotional…." Dark said.

"What did you talk about?" Riku asked.

"You know, Gramps had a favor that I need to prioritize…." Dark said.

"Oh…I won't be asking what it is…" Riku said.

"Perhaps, I think I am bothering your personal life so I think I would stop surveying you for a while…." Riku added.

Riku handed him a rice ball.

"Have a rice ball; it will calm your nerves…" Riku said.

Dark accepted the rice ball.

He ate it.

He was amazed.

"Riku-chan, it was…." Dark exclaimed.

"It was delicious…" Dark added.

He smiled.

"Can I have another one?" Dark asked.

"Sure!" Riku said.

Dark held Riku's hands.

"What's the matter?" Riku asked, blushing.

Dark comforted Riku.

"Please let me do this thing for a while…." Dark said.

"Dark….Mousy…." Riku said.

Riku handed the rice ball on Dark.

"Thank you that you were here…." Dark said.

"You're welcome! Dark Nii- San!" Riku said.

Riku glanced at him.

Dark ate the rice ball.

While on the Floral Plantation…

Risa was gazing on the sky.

She saw a rose. She picked it up.

"I am going to give this rose to Daisuke. I think it can help him out…" Risa said.

She went away.

On the Hospital…

"Daisuke…" Riku and Risa said.

Daisuke turned around and was surprised.

"I had a rose for you!" Risa said.

"I brought some rice balls!" Riku said.

"Oh, thanks a lot…" Daisuke said.

They smiled.

Daiki woke up.

He held his chest.

"Gramps, is there something that hurts badly?" Daisuke asked.

"Nothing, I'm fine…" Daiki replied.

"Here, eat a rice ball." Daisuke said.

Daisuke handed him a rice ball.

"About the favor, what is it?" Daisuke asked.

Daiki coughed.

"Oh, my favor was simple…But first, promise me that you will do it until the day you die…." Daiki said.

"I promise…" Daisuke said, in a serious but miserable tune.

"Dissuade your paradox for a while, just joking, anyway, my favor is…"

"Please take care of your family if I die, someday they will be weak like me, like those elders, as you could see." Daiki said.

"Gramps, I promise you that I will do it!" Daisuke said.

"Good boy…" Daiki said.

He smiled at Daisuke.

He then tapped his head.

Daiki kissed Daisuke's forehead.

"You are the one that I will miss the most, Daisuke…" Daiki exclaimed.

Daisuke comforted Daiki.

"Me too, Gramps, you became important to me…." Daisuke said.

He cried.

"Gramps, I will miss you so much!" Daisuke cried.

"Who won't?" Daiki cried.

"They started to get emotional…." Risa exclaimed.

Riku started to cry.

"Poor Dark Mousy, I think he was whimpering during this time around." Riku thought.

On the top of the tree…

"Gramps...Take care of your life ahead…" Dark thought.

Tears fell down from his eyes.

"I love you, Gramps. I owe you a lot…I warmly thank you for all the good deeds you have showed me since the time you were energetic…" Dark said.

He cried.

(12'o clock of the Midnight.)

Daisuke fell asleep.

Daiki woke up and saw Daisuke sleeping.

He cried and commemorated those events.

"Daisuke, Emiko, Kosuke, Risa, Riku and especially Dark, I will miss you all…I owe you a lot…Farewell….I think I will….." Daiki said.

He lay down.

Those last words of Daiki were witnessed by Dark and that hurts Dark's feelings badly.

He went on Daiki and comforted him.

He felt Daiki's heart was not beating and he stopped breathing.

"Gramps...GRAMPS!" Dark cried.

Daisuke woke up and saw Dark crying.

"Dark, what is the matter?" Daisuke cried.

He looked on the system, it was a straight line.

"Gramps!" Daisuke cried.

Emiko and Kosuke together with Riku and Risa arrived.

"Daisuke, what's going on here?" Emiko asked.

"Gramps…was already dead…" Daisuke sadly replied.

"Father!" Emiko cried.

She comforted Daiki's body.

"Father…" Kosuke cried.

"Mr. Niwa!" Riku cried.

"Mr. Daiki…" Risa cried.

Everybody cried in despair…

A week passed…

Daiki's body was buried on a cemetery…For a while, the family Niwa was still on despair….

Daisuke, Riku and Risa visited Daiki's graveyard.

Daisuke put down the flowers and lighted three candles of different colors.

Together, they silently prayed.

"Lord, please take care of Gramps…Don't leave him alone and always look after him. Give him a good life onwards…"

"Amen…" They said.

Daisuke cried.

They stood up.

Daisuke kissed Daiki's grave.

"Gramps, everybody missed you, during the day you left us here…until this time…." Daisuke thought.

They peacefully walked away.
