It felt odd being empty handed. Gajeel had insisted on carrying all of her things, even her bag. It felt odd being in his company, like something was missing. She stared up at him, he was humming something seemingly happy. She watched the way his eyes flicked to all of the dark spaces between buildings, the way his nose wrinkled when he thought he had seen something. "What is it Shrimp? You've been staring at me the whole time."

"S-sorry!" Levy stared down the street, wondering what she was doing. It was obvious he had no feelings for her, so what were they doing? "Ahh!" Levy's books hit the ground once again. She waited to hit the ground, but the pain never came. "Damnit Levy are you trying to hurt yourself? Why are you so clumsy?!" She slowly opened her eyes, a blush forming over her face as she realized Gajeels arms were around her. "I'm sorry!" They stood there a moment, Gajeel holding her tightly against his chest. She could feel his heart beating against her shoulder and as he put her down, she wished that he hadn't. "You alright Shrimp?" He was blushing too.

"I'm fine, you didn't have to catch me."

"I wasn't going to just watch you fall."

They bent down and began picking up her scattered things and the wind picked up, blowing a few of Levys papers down the street. "Shit, I'll get em' for ya." He rushed off after the paper and Levy just stared. "Why is he putting himself through all of this trouble, it's just paper.." Her pocket buzzed, and of course it was Lucy. "Hey Lucy, what's up?"

"Levy where the hell are you it's almost 3 AM?!"

"I'm fine! Don't worry I'm with Gajeel." She heard Lucy snickering

"With Gajeel you say~ What are you doing this late into the night with himm~"

"I-it's not even like that! He's chasing some papers of mine right now actually."

"C-chasing papers? Levy have you made any progress! I didn't send him your way for nothing!"

"Well he caught me.. when I fell and we sort of hugged for a minute.."

"Then fall some more!" With a click Lucy was gone. "Heres your papers. Who was that?"

"Thanks, it was just Lucy." He grunted and nodded. "What she want?"

"It's pretty late so she was just checking on me, but I told her I was in capable hands." That scored her another small blush. "Ya wana go home now?" She stood with her armsful of book, which he promptly took. "Or do you wana do something else?"

"Something else?" She wasn't sure what he had in mind.. It was pretty late, maybe she should just go home. "I dunno, we could walk around.. or get some coffee.." She thoughtfully held her chin for a moment. "Lets get some coffee, my treat for all your help lately."

"Nah, this ain't something I'm letting you pay for." Levy blushed and looked up at him, as he blushed too. She swallowed hard, and stuttered "I-is this a date?" He only grunted.
