Alexandria's POV

"It's ok," My handmaiden, Anna soothed as I screamed once again. "One more push, my lady, just one more."

I took another haggard breath and pushed once more.

"You've finished, m'lady." She cried. My head fell onto my pillow as I panted. I could barely see from the tears that were falling but I saw enough to spot my babies.

I lifted my head once again, with quiet some effort and reached out with one arm towards my babies. "My babies," I moaned as my Father came into the room. "Please, please, Father. I wish to hold my babies, Father."

He ignored me and took hold of one of them. His face was one of disgust and I felt my whole body freeze. "Father!" I cried. "Father, please! Please! I wish to hold my children! Just once, I beg of you, just once."

"No!" He said with undisguised disgust. He turned away from me, to the man holding my other child. Father passed the man my child that he had been holding and said, "Take them outside to the river. I wish for them to be drowned at once."

"No!" I screamed. "No! Father, please! Please, Father! Please! My babies!

"Shh." Anna tried to soothe as she held me. I saw the man walk out of my chambers and I buried my head into Anna's chest.

"My babies," I sobbed. "Oh, my babies ..."

I held my head as I walked down the stairs, past the servants. I felt sick and had not slept proper for weeks as all my nights were spent with haunting visions of the bodies of my lifeless children.

I reached the front door and walked outside to where my brothers and my Father was waiting. Stefan and Damon kept their heads down, they had not spoken with me in months. Father stared at me with contempt as I walked to the carriage though it did not matter to me for I stared at him in exactly the same way.

I stopped at the open door of the carriage and turned back around. Father was still staring at me with contempt, his lips curling into a sneer. Damon had his arm around the shoulders of Stefan and I saw from the way he shook that he was crying. They both, still, would not look at me.

I turned back to the carriage and sat down inside. I felt the tears finally begin to fall as the door closed. He was sending me away. This was the last time I would see my home, my friends and my brothers.

"Hello, Sweetheart."

I looked behind me to see the most handsome man ever. He had short, dark brown hair that was nearly black and matching brown eyes. He was pale and average height and had a smirk playing on his lips at the moment. His hand was held out so I put mine in his. His lips barely brushed my fingers before I pulled my hand away.

"Hello, my name is Alexandria."

His smirk seemed to grow and with a bow he lifted his head up and said, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Alexandria. I am Kol, Kol Mikaelson."

I lifted my head higher and kept my face blank. I could feel what he was but I would not let him see that I was afraid because a vampire would think it funny if their prey was scared.

"The pleasure is all mine, my lord, but I am afraid I must be going." I turned away but he grabbed my arm and spun me back around. He was grinning now and I felt my lips tug upwards though I would still not let them.

"Please, just call me Kol." He told me.

I smiled softly as I kept my eyes lowered. "Then I am afraid I must take my leave, Kol."

Kol lifted my chin higher and gave me a small smile. He then bent forward a little and offered me a hand. He said, "Please dance with me, my lady, even if it is just once."

I lifted my hand a moment and then slowly handed it to him. "Only if you call me Alex."

Kol flashed me a bright smile as he stood straighter. "Alex it is then."

The song ended and I pulled away from the vampire's warm body. I kept my eyes from Kol's and said, "I really must be going, Kol."

"Alright," Kol said with a small smile. "Until we meet again, Alex, and I do hope that we do ..."

I felt a light blush grace my cheeks and was glad that I had lowered my head. "If you often come to balls like these then I have no doubt that we will see eachother soon."

I felt Kol's hand lift my head up once more and I saw that his face was very serious. "Then I will come to every ball there is, even if there is only this slight chance that I will see you once more, Alex."

I blushed and and had to bit my lip to keep from smiling. I stepped back and felt the smile light my face at the smile on Kol's face. "I hope to see you soon."

I turned and quickly walked my way through the dancers. I glanced back every so often to see him still standing there with no smile on his face, just watching me walk away.

Katherine's POV

As soon as Klaus whispered for her to remember Alex fell into Klaus. He picked her up bridal style and took her to the bedroom. I turned away from the bedroom to see the Warlock picking himself up and trying to catch his breath. Alex was much more powerful than normal witches - I could feel the power radiate from her as she used it. She was definitely a different type of witch.

"Katherine," I spun around to see Klaus walking out of the bedroom with no Alex in sight. "I want you to not disturb Alex when she's asleep. If she wakes up make sure she eats and you should tell her that there is a spell on the apartment, which doesn't allow her to leave."

I nodded mutely and sat on the coach. The Warlock looked beyond pissed now that he was standing up and breathing properly. He pointed a finger at Klaus and said, "You never once mentioned that she was one of them, one of the Naturals. She should be dead!"

A natural ..?

"What's a natural?" I asked before Klaus could say anything.

Klaus sighed deeply and said in an annoyed tone, "A Natural is basically a very powerful witch who can control the elements like wind, water, fire, earth and cannot do any spell work. Also, she is immortal."

Wow, I could see why that would upset the Warlock.

Klaus continued talking, "Normal Witches and Warlocks naturally don't like Natural's because they think that Naturals are unnatural. I personally think they're just a bit jealous." He turned to the Warlock. "I don't care why you hate her or her kind. If I find out you have hurt her with physically or mentally I will kill you, do you understand?"

The Warlock's jaw tightened and he nodded stiffly. Klaus turned to me and raised his eye brows. I lifted my hands. "I'm not an idiot, Klaus. I'm not going to do anything because I'm sure she would kill me before you got the chance."
