Tessa began to adjust to life with The Doctor quickly, and she was
glad that she had come along. She began to grow quite fond of him, but
would never admit anything.
"I have an idea," she said, skipping past the Doctor.
"Stop skipping and tell me what it is." he said, trying to catch her.
She laughed and stopped skipping. "Let's go back this time."
"Back in time, you mean?" he asked.
"Yes." She replied. "I want to see the fifties."
"Fifties London or fifties America? Because last time I went to
fifties London...it didn't go very well." The Doctor admitted.
"Oh really?" Tessa asked. "What happened?"
"It's very complicated and confusing; now tell me, London or America?"
"Hmm...America, please." she requested. And they were off on another adventure.
"Well, here we are!" he exclaimed, opening the TARDIS doors and
revealing a particularly hot summer day.
Tessa stepped out wearing a light blue poodle skirt and a black jacket. She loved the sound of her navy heels hitting the concrete.
"What state are we in?" asked Tessa, looking around.
"California, I believe." He took a quick glance around. "Yup. California."
"Yay!" Tessa yelled, quickly skipping off.
"Tessa," he warned her. "Don't...go off without me."
"What, afraid that I'll get hurt?" she teased. "Oh, Doctor, you're so
protective."
"I...just...nevermind." He shook his head.
"Okay," she smiled, lacing her fingers in his. "I'll stay with you."
The Doctor took a deep breath through his nose. "It's horribly hot
out here." He wiped his hand across his forehead.
"Hmm..." Tessa hummed absently, almost drowsily.
All of a sudden, they heard a loud screaming noise coming from a
house they were walking past. "What was that?" The Doctor asked
urgently. "C'mon, Tessa." he said, pulling her toward the house.
"You can't just open the door like you own the place, Doctor!" she
exclaimed, but he payed no heed. In the house stood two alien-looking
beings, who had just thrown someone into a huge microwave. Tessa and
The Doctor hid in the entryway.
"That's what's causing the heatwave, isn't it?" Tessa whispered.
"You're getting smarter every day, Tessa." The Doctor praised.
"How do people in America not see that there is a humongous microwave in the kitchen?" Tessa asked
"Perception filter. People look at it and see a normal sized microwave" The Doctor said
"Then how can we see it and no one else can?" Tessa asked yawning
"The TARDIS does that to you" he told her.
As he
said this, he noticed her drifting off. "Tessa," he hissed, nudging
her arm. She fell into a deep sleep that she could not be awakened
from. He heard footsteps coming towards the entryway. He thought fast
and hid in a closet, peeking through a crack in the door. The aliens
took Tessa and threw her into the microwave.
The Doctor was filled with anger. No. Not Tessa.
This was worse then Amy turning old or Rory dying a million times. It was worse then when she was taken by china. This time they had taken the wonderful person that was Tessa and amped her body heat by about a thousand. And she would die if he didn't do anything about it. "Oh big mistake" he said to the aliens "You shouldn't have done that because now there is no power on this earth that can stop me!" He exclaimed
He immediately rushed to the TARDIS and begin to work, hard and fast
and furiously. He had to save all those people. Including Tessa.
