Fairy Tale: To Be Followed

It was a rather quiet morning while three figures, a male, female and a pokemon, were meticulously hidden within the trees silently watching the new friends chatting away as they passed by, unknowingly being watched.

"Haha, look there she is, it's one of the Princesses who decided to leave the castle without informing a soul about it, Jessie"

"Hm you are right James, according to meowth she decided to leave. I'm glad we broke into the castle last night and over heard the conversation that maid and the other princesses had about it"

"Jessie, I say we take the girl and you know that they atleast are wondering her where abouts so, we'll just kidnap her",James said deviously.

"Yeah but look who is with her, the twerp",Meowth reminded the human members of their trio as he looked at the tall boy walking with the shorter red headed female.

"Hmm then, well let's make sure he won't be an issue here and we can carry out our plan. Well, here is what we'll do..."

The three team rocket members huddled together formulating their plan to take Misty in exchange for valuble pokemon and money.

"So where are you from, Ash?" Misty asked as they sat in the Pewter City pokemon center to eat their breakfast having spent the night there.

"I come from Pallet Town. Have you ever been there before?",Ash asked while poured more syrup on his second stack of fluffy pancakes.

Misty thought for a moment and finally answered,"No, actually I've bever been there. Though, I have heard of it. It's where the famous Professor Oak had his Laboratory, correct?"

Chuckling a bit,"Yup! I live just down the street from him and I've know him my whole life. He and my mom are pretty good friends."

Smiling at the teens enthusiasm,"Thats awesome. Is it just you and your mom, Ash?"

His smiled dropped for a split second but, Misty noticed and was just about to change the subject when he answered,"Yeah. To be honest my dad pretty much left us. But, it's okay how about you? Where are you from?"

Deciding how she would answer this she chose her answer carefully, not wanting to give away her 'title' because she honestly wanted people to like her for who she was and she didn't want to go back to the castle, not yet anyway. Truth be told, with every passing second, she was falling for him and she was hoping he was feeling the same.

"Oh, I actually come from Cerulean City."

"Cerulean City?!"

"Uh yeah, you heard of it?" She asked with great hesitation.

"I've never been there but that is where I am head. Professor Oak is having me run a small errand I guess you could say"

"Oh-"

Before she could finish Misty was cut off by someone who recognized Ash and exclaimed loudly garnering their attention.

"Hey big guy, long time no see bro!"

*RING RING RING PHONE CALL PHONE CALL*

Rushing to the video phone,"Hello, Agatha speaking whom may I ask is calling?"

"Oh, hello Agatha. Could you turn on the camera to the phone? It's Samuel Oak here."

"Oh hello Professor. How are you this fine morning?"

Smiling,"I'm doing well thank you. I actually just called to see if that pokemon was dropped off. You see the trainer I sent apparently left his poke gear behind and he was supposed to check in with me"

The Professor spoke shaking his head at Ash's forgetfulness.

"I feel your dilemma..."

"Huh?" Professor Oak asked not quite understanding the maids words.

Realizing she muttered that out loud having dealing with her own dilemma with Misty seemingly missing in action and with out her poke gear as well. The aging maid quickly answered,"Oh, excuse me. Actually I-I was just pomdering that this trainer of yours actually hasn't shown up yet"

"Ugh that boy I swear. Well, alright thank you miss Agatha, I apologize for calling and interrupting anything"

"Oh not all Professor you may call at any time. Bye bye now!"

Agatha's heart raced, something was most certainly wrong. Her princess was missing and this so called trainer obviously has the same recklessness as well, seeing that he too can't have the decency to check in.

Ugh I just hope Misty is alright. Agatha thought as she walked down the hall to finish feeding the pokemon their breakfast.

Professor Oak hung up the phone. Ash sometimes I wonder why you get distracted and wander off sometimes.

"Professor, I'm back!"

Swiveling around in his chair he smiled,"Ah, why hello Tracey. How was your time in the Orange Islands?"

"Really nice. The weather was beautiful as always and I got some really nice sketches while I was there. Oh and Professor Ivy sends her regards, I bumped into her as well",Tracey animatedly recounted his week long trip vacation.

"Sounds like a fine time. Glad you enjoyed yourself"

"Brock!" Exclaimed Ash.

The pokemon doctor smiled at his former traveling partner and dear friend at the sudden surprise. Brock worked at that pokemon center every other day and was pleased to see Ash and then noticed the red head sitting in the booth.

"Ah hello pretty lady my name is B-"

Ash looked mad at the fact Brock was hitting on Misty, which of course Ash has no doubt fallen for so Ash cut him off.

"Brock this is Misty. Misty this is a good friend of mine, Brock. He is a pokemon doctor and dating Lucy, the frontier brain", Ash looked pointedly at Brock when mentioning 'Lucy' as in remember you have a girlfriend so lay off.

Misty smiled,"Hello Brock it's very nice to meet you. I think that it's great that you're a pokemon doctor."

She thought to herself about Ash's little display. It was as if he was jealous. Could it be he likes me too? The woman blushed at the thought.

"I get off later on before dinner time. Would you both like to come over for some dinner? Lucy will be there too",Brock offered politely.

Misty nodded to Ash that it was fine and they both agreed to join the older teen later on that evening.

"Awesome. Meet me back here at the center around four okay guys? See ya I gotta get in the back to start workin' ".

The two left the center as Ash offered to show Misty around the City. The red head took an interest at the fact that Pewter housed a Museum with rare fossils, so Ash trying to score some brownie points with the hottie, obliged.

"So uh over here is the helix fossil and the dome fossil"

Giggling,"Wow, Ash I'm impressed, you know an awful lot about all this stuff."

She made the Master blush a very deep shade of crimson and he was about to respond just as the Museum started to fill up with smoke and then:

"Prepare for trouble"

"And it make it double"
