It definitely clasped the air in a vicious fist – her lavender scent. She was unaware of her body odours capturing Sasuke's senses fully into its palm, it was probably the only thing that about Hinata Hyuuga that he willingly admitted to enjoying. Other than this, he felt the incredible yearning to shrug the slumbering girl off his form.

"Are you awake?" he heard her voice reverberate throughout the wood, her muscles attempting to push herself forward only to uselessly fall back into a splendour of Sasuke. She huffed in a manner that brought a tug to Sasuke's lips, she was annoyed with herself and the irony that both of them were annoyed with her existence was pitiful. Sasuke lifted her body up slowly as he could feel her tense as she donned her sight upon the lighted landscape, the sunlight was dazzling her.

Her eyes were hollow, he decided as he perched her on the grass beside the tree, her eyes lifelessly roaming her surroundings while motionlessly resting her already protesting body, though her examinations of the environment was cut off as she turned her head and vomited.

Sasuke placed his hands on his hips in exasperation as his eyes faced the cloudless sky – ignoring the sounds she created, he quickly recovered from the slight migraine that was threatening to form and retrieved a cloth from the pouch that hung loosely from the satchel he carried which sat beside the dead fire. He harshly took hold of her chin and compelled her to look at him – the unsanitary moisture stuck to her chin. He scrubbed her face clean involuntarily as she scrunched her nose to the touch.

"Protector, where are we going?" the unnecessary designation lingered in Sasuke's mind and took him a moment to stare at Hinata squarely into her emotionless eyes, her eyelashes grazing her cheeks as they hung in a bored manner, "your home" he replied lethargically, pulled himself away from her as he began to pack up their belongings, "we're going to stop by a village today. Rent a room" he picked up the satchel which also various pouches connecting to – Orochimaru's head already hazing a stench.

Hinata attempted to raise her body from the ground, her limbs struggling as they visually wobbled in a dismal fashion. Sasuke watched with curiosity to her strength, though she only primed her legs for so much – she collapsed. Sasuke seethed at the piteous girl, then leaned over to pluck her effortlessly from the grass and hurled her over his shoulders as if a sack of potatoes.

The trip was dull, Hinata stared down at the repetitive grass that rolled, sometimes the scene resembled tumbling waves of an ocean – and once overawed by this, it died down to something mundane as she stared at the same display for over three hours. Her eyes sometimes glazed over the tree's, but that applied extra labour for her brittle neck to look upwards, though when she did, the picture of the sun casting its rays on the tree's was an astonishing sight. If given the chance, she would reject the thought of ever sleeping again if that meant to deny this scene.

"Don't over exert yourself, Hinata" was a dauntless scolding to which she subliminally flinched to – at times his voice alone was unsettling, it was how he was so sure; so self-reliant; so presumptuous. It intimidated her.

Though what was so satiric to the situation was that this confident creature was the person who saved her from the coma – though this alone wasn't the only thing that was mind consuming. Hinata wondered profusely upon her memories. She hoped this damned home of hers would be able to reverse this blank template of hers.

"We're here" Sasuke said, stopping abruptly, Hinata's face colliding with his back slightly as she felt the smoothness of the cotton shirt, she placed her hands delicately onto his back and lifted her head only to see a child in their summer Kimono running down the stoned pathway with a radiant smile donning their face, holding up a pinwheel in attempt to find wind in this damned heat. Hinata decided that she would dress appropriately when given the chance.

Sasuke stepped forward and descended from the willow that leaned aggressively into the village, and soon they were engulfed into the swarms of people busily walking up and down the street, the trend being children clinging with enjoyment to their elders shoulders as they stared at the colourful lanterns that weren't yet lit dangling on thread that bordered the idle stream running down the main road. It was a festival.

Sasuke languidly took hold of Hinata's wait and placed the girl onto her feet. Weary once her knee's started to buckle from her premature musles, he doubted her and blanketed his nervousness as he pulled Hinata into him, she squirmed in his grasp, Sasuke scrunched his nose distastefully to her reaction yet still held her body close to him. Walking down the street, Sasuke made it known to the passerby's to avoid his direction, and to which – all of them willingly allowed the Uchiha to pass by, each citizen adverting their gaze to the ground shamefully as they crossed him.

Hinata stared up at him, the way how he was staring forward in a forced manner, his eyes attentively determined on something ahead of him which cannot be seen by regular people. Hinata almost winched as she leaned her neck forward, the exertion of her muscles taking its toll. "Excuse me sir, but is she well?" a daring elderly man asked, his silver gaze donning Hinata in concern, his grey hair pulled back into a long braid which perched on his left shoulder, Sasuke turned his head curtly and nodded his head in a polite manner, though he still carried a stone cold aura which could not be removed even if he tried.

Sasuke then turned forward, as if he weren't questioned at all, though he did turn Hinata's body closer into his.

"Do I look sickly?" Hinata was sheathed by the public into Sasuke's black coat, though to ask this she revealed her eyes to stare up at the Uchiha, her huge beady iris' actually showing every inch of her eye instead of just half. Sasuke glanced momentarily at the young Hyuuga, though returned his stare back at the unforeseen nothing straight on, and nodded his head, "you're not as healthy as you used to be" was his unfulfilling answer.

Sasuke grazed his sight over the shops that lined the street and found an adequate hotel that provided a restaurant and an inn. Guiding Hinata towards the building, crossing the small bridge over the stream, Sasuke lifted the cloth door and was faced with an elderly woman that smoked tobacco freely within the premises. Her aged eyes examining the duo, she nodded her head briskly, before removing the pipe from her lips, "any rooms available?" Sasuke inquired as he lifted Hinata slightly, her mannerisms relative to a somewhat intoxicated person. The elderly woman cringed slightly as she registered as what she thought was an alcohol induced woman and a brooding man, though mentally shrugged her shoulders.

"The room is 43" and with that, Sasuke handed her the acquired amount of money then strode to the stairs and plucked Hinata up bridal style to carry her to the room.

Opening the door to find a room which contained one bed, a washroom, and another door leading to a balcony overlooking the evening atmosphere of the village, Sasuke placed Hinata gently upon the white covers of the bed and relished in the content emotion she displayed upon her features while she closed her eyes, though this didn't last long as she opened them once more and knitted her eyebrows.

"Sa-Sasuke!" she yelped, her hands as quick as lightning while she griped the bed sheets, sparing her hair this time Sasuke noted as he was quick to grab the medicine in the case, its liquid already sealed into a needle, he flicked the potent flask as the crimson fluid swished in the glass, then pinned her chest down and stuck the needle into her receptor broadly, the metal scraping against metal, Hinata rolled her eyes back slightly as her electric jerks were dying. Sasuke pulled out the needle and took a step back for Hinata to calm herself from the escapade.

"How does it feel?" Sasuke asked, his face emotionless as the sun finally diminished behind the hills, the only source of light was the lanterns that now floated into the night sky, their glimmer allowing Hinata's attention to waver slightly into the freedom of the night, until it was pulled back into the room whereas Sasuke hovered over her, asking how it was like to be drugged.

"It makes me forget how to feel" she sighed, blinking ever so slowly, Sasuke bit down tenderly on his bottom lip, it was questionable how he envied her endlessly, this girl – her hair messily although elegantly sprawled upon the sheets, its contrasting colors only emphasizing on its attractiveness. At this point, with her black shorts drawled slightly up her thighs, the coat clinging to her skin, he couldn't deny the fact that the Hyuuga girl was definitely something to look at.

"You'll remember" was his half-assed response as he turned his body away from her to retreat into the bathroom; Sasuke decided he needed a bath.

Hinata closed her eyes shut in a contrived way which caused white wiggles to appear in her vision, the light was too much now, the glowing that soaked into the room arrived in a madness as the gleams hit Hinata in a wave, turning her head slightly as her hair bunched up to the side messily, she smiled bitterly at the scene of the lanterns vividly soaring across the window and swore that it was the most beautiful picture of her life Then, a lantern got caught against the ledge of the balcony.

Sasuke temperamentally wanted to punch a hold into the porcelain, although instead, controlled his rage and leaned his drenched head against the stone. The water was scalding hot, though Sasuke couldn't care less, what he cared about though, was the heat that struck through his entire core. How dare she spark this kind've damnable feeling into him? Sasuke aggressively clenched his hair, rubbing the strands out of his head, he stood there for a moment.

It was a rancorous realization that Hinata didn't remember her childhood with him – each time he stared into those bland, almost lifelessly eyes, a wave of nostalgia hits him faster than light as he remembers how he'd share almost everything with the damned woman that lay in bed at the moment. How their mothers destined them to be together, how they became inseparable, how she grew into his being. Then how she hated him. How she spitefully ignored his existence in her life easily, as if she didn't even care about them at all in the first place. Fuck! Sasuke withdrew his hand from the scattered shards of porcelain that sprinkled his hand; he was partially relieved that it didn't cause that much damage to the wall, though the other half of him didn't give a fuck.

Departing from the steamed room, fully clothed and the scent of soap radiating from his skin, he was dying his hair with a towel, then the towel dropped to the floor.

"What the hell are you doing?" his voice was cold, detached, Hinata breathed in a lung full of air as she reached contemptibly for the lantern that was tangled into the railings of the balcony, her body squirming slowly, obvious her body wasn't in the best of shape as she coughed up a slight bit of blood onto the garnished wood, she still contained the determination as her arm lazily reached out piteously to the intangible paper lantern, its light coming to its forthcoming obscure death. Sasuke leaned against the frame of the door, crossing his arms as he stared amply down at the girl as she wormed her body which refused to moved, her fingertips grazed the paper, though it was too late for the flame then came into its crepuscular abandonment, and fell to the streets below.

Hinata froze as she dejectedly leaned her plump cheek into the wood. Sasuke smugly chuckled lightly at Hinata as he leaned over the Hyuuga, his hands about to touch her hips, until she jolted "don't touch me!" then just like that; Sasuke was brought back to when he was 10 years old.
