Duty or Love

Chapter Four

Waking up the next morning alone in his bed, Henry knew that he had to speak with both Katherine and Anne. Therefore, once he was dressed for the day and had his morning meal in his rooms.

Henry orders "Send for the Queen and Lady Anne Boleyn" to two of his grooms that were present to send for the two women that will be involve in this situation with him.

Minutes later when both Katherine and Anne arrive before him in his apartments, Henry simply says "Leave us" to his grooms and Katherine's ladies-in-waitings that followed her there.

With just the three of them present, Henry says to the women that hold his heart "I have thought about the proposition that Katherine yesterday"

"What is your decision my dear husband?" asks Katherine knowing this is her only chance without consenting to a divorce or worst an annulment for herself and daughter.

Henry says happily "I shall have us work on our terms for the time that my beloved Anne will be Queen of England but only with the support of the Pope" before adding off handily directly to Katherine "If the Pope does not accept these circumstances to have another on the throne as my Queen for some time. I shall seek to have our marriage dissolved by any means" as he sees Katherine has a look of disappointment on her face.

Anne happily asks "Your majesty, if the Pope agrees how long shall I be Queen for?" as she directs her question to both Henry and Katherine.

"If this is agree upon by all four parties, you my love shall be Queen for a period of eight years" says Henry happily knowing that even for a short time he will have a youth wife that he loved by his side.

Anne asks both Henry and Katherine sadly "If I am with child when time comes that the eighth year has past, what shall happen to the child that I carry?"

"You will remain Queen until two months after the child's birth" says Henry thinking off the top of his head.

Katherine unhappily as she says these words "We shall discuss different terms that should be brought to the Pope to be examined" knowing that this document send to the Pope should contain all of their terms.

All the same lines of Katherine speaks, Anne says to Henry as well "The document send to the Pope should the same contract that we all agree upon and sign" hoping that both Katherine and herself shall be involved in the process as well as Henry.

"Of course if that is what you both wish" states Henry knowing that is the best decision for all. As he hands up and walks over to the doorway of his apartments to say to one of his grooms "Bring Wosley to me at once" before shutting the door once more.
