Chapter 4: A Compromising Failure

Everyone was curious about what Nette had to say as he brought out the journal. He flipped to the section about the shadow creatures and took a deep breath.

"Okay everyone listen, while our main objective is to find Springtrap and help with recover as much memory as possible, our new problem is that when I investigated Fredrick's old lab, I found some strange small trails of black blood. And after finding his journal, turns out he had a prototype plan to use shadow creatures to attack this town, but quickly switched to robots since the shadow creatures didn't develop successfully. I found their stasis tubes broken and since the blood was fresh, that means they escaped not too long ago. I fear they may come to attack the town, especially if they've found out Fredrick is dead." Nette explained.

Everyone's eyes were wide...especially Bonnie and Bon Bon's.

"Uh oh...mom was right!" Bonnie said.

"The shadow creatures really are coming!" Bon Bon tugged on her ears nervously.

"What are you guys talking about?" Freddy asked.

"Mom told us she's been having some bad dreams about those prototypes coming here to finish their original goal which was to attack the town...possibly to eliminate us all. We can't let that happen." Bonnie said.

"Ugh...why us? Of all the people to pin this kind of danger on...and it had to be us." Foxy groaned.

"But we're kinda used to it by now." Mangle shrugged.

"True."

"I wonder how long we got until they get here, we'll need to be ready." Chi Chi said.

"Hey Nette, do you have any of that blood? Mabye you could use it to sense where they are." Chica suggested.

"Good thinking Chica, surely I'll be able to detect them." Nette said.

He pulled out a jar full of that blood and his white pupils lit up. Shadow Bonnie and Shadow Freddy were just a city over...apparently taking their time as they plot how to destroy the town. They didn't plan to just attack the town as soon as they got there, they were going to cause minimum damage and scare everyone before finally unleashing their true power on the town. They were currently up on a hill discussing Shadow Bonnie's plan...which Shadow Freddy strongly protested.

"I...WANT...TO...DESTROY...TOWN...NOW..." Shadow Freddy snarled stomping the ground.

"NO! WE CAN'T JUSSST ATTACK IMMEDIATELY YOU SSSSSTUPID BEAR! I THINK WE SSSSSHOULD GIVE OUR ENEMIESSSS A FAIR CHANCE, AFTER ALL, I'D LIKE A GOOD CHALLENGE, INSTEAD OF TAKING THE EASSSSSSY ROUTE!" Shadow Bonnie sneered.

"YOUR...PLAN...IS...DUMB!" Shadow Freddy argued.

When it came to these shadow creatures, Shadow Bonnie was the smartest one while Shadow Freddy was rather dumb. This angered Shadow Bonnie who was hoping his brother would know that he was always right.

"WE'RE GOING WITH MY PLAN AND THAT ISSSSS FINAL! UNLESSSSS YOU PLAN TO DO SSSSOMETHING ABOUT IT!" Shadow Bonnie said.

"NO...WE...GO...WITH...MY...PLAN!" Shadow Freddy yelled.

"WHY YOU..."

Shadow Bonnie lunges at Shadow Freddy and the two start brawling, they punch, kick and roll around a bit before they tumbled down the hill and crash into the back of a house, luckily the owners weren't there at the time. Shadow Freddy grabs his brother and shoves him to the ground and slams his fists on his stomach. Shadow Bonnie grabs his brother's head, brings it closer and punches him hard in the hidden nose.

"Alright then...I didn't think it would come to thissss, but it lookssss like I'll have to beat sssssome ssssense into you." Shadow Bonnie cracks his knuckles.

He grabs Shadow Freddy, slams his head into the house and starts to pummel his brother in the face countless times. He literally beat him to the ground before stopping as Shadow Freddy coughed up black blood. Luckily for them they were able to heal from their injuries pretty quickly.

"You done?" Shadow Bonnie asked.

"Yeah...I'm...sorry...we'll...go...with...your...plan." Shadow Freddy groaned.

"Good...now let'sssss continue our little journey, we got ssssome pessstsss to sssstomp on." Shadow Bonnie said.

Back with the Fazbear Gang, Nette concluded that they had time to deal with Springtrap before the shadow brothers got here. Nette promised to keep track of them, leaving the others to do what they want until Springtrap confronted them again. Freddy had went upstairs for awhile and Foxy, Bonnie and Chica got worried when he didn't come back down for at least 2 hours, Foxy decided to go upstairs and see what was wrong.

He found Freddy leaning over his dresser rubbing his temples, his hat lying on the bed.

"Yo Freddy, ye okay?" Foxy asked.

"I'm just a little stressed right now Foxy." Freddy said.

"Look, I know we're going through a lot, but we must stick together. I hope you're not breaking down on us, after all you're the leader." Foxy said.

"I'm not...it's just...I don't know...mabye I do feel helpless." Freddy sighed.

"Helpless? We got more than enough people to help beat these creatures." Foxy said.

"Mabye, but we don't have enough power, not even Nette is as powerful as them. This may be the end Foxy, I'll fight to that end...but we may not win."

Then to Freddy's surprise...Foxy slapped him across the face.

"Don't...EVER...say...that." Foxy growled.

"But-"

"I knew it, our leader is broke. This whole situation broke our leader. Unbelievable." Foxy threw his arms in the air.

"Foxy I'm not-"

"We need a leader who won't quit at the most desperate moments, and apparently ye are not doing yer-

POW!

Freddy angrily punches Foxy in the face hard enough to send the fox into the wall where Freddy pins him.

"WATCH YOUR WORDS FOXY! I'M NO QUITTER GOT IT? I DARE YOU TO SAY THAT AGAIN!" Freddy's eyes go black.

Foxy gulps knowing he struck a serious nerve.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I was just worried about ye. Sorry I slapped ye." Foxy said.

Freddy sighed and let him go.

"I'm sorry for hitting you. But you really shouldn't go there with me." Freddy said.

"Got it." Foxy nodded.

"Say Foxy...you don't think that bunny has any connection with Bonnie do ya?" Freddy asked.

Foxy thought that question came out of the blue. Why would he ask that?"

"Well...what do ye want to know?"

"I was just curious, and it's a possibility from the way you described him, it seems he may be a relative of Bonnie...or...IS Bonnie from the future or something."

Foxy thought Freddy was crazy but decided to go with it for a brief moment.

"And how much farther into the future?"

"30 years mabye?"

"WHAT? Freddy, Nette said that he was an victim, not created in an experiment."

"Mabye Fredrick lied, he was always a liar."

Foxy face-palmed.

"Freddy, I highly doubt Bonnie has anything to do with that bunny. Besides Bonnie would've known if he was family or not."

"I guess."

"Look captain get some rest, you're gonna get a headache from all this thinking." Foxy said.

"Okay...yeah..."

Freddy decided to lie down while Foxy went towards the stairs where he noticed Chi Chi, Nette, Mangle and Bon Bon already gone. Bonnie was on the couch while Chica was making another pizza and Foxy smelled the amazing scent.

"Hmm, hey Chica what kind is-YAH! OW! OOF! UNGH! BLEEEEEEEEEEP! BLEEP! BLEEEEEEEEP! SCREEEEEEEEE! SCREEEEEEEEEE! SCREEEEEEEEEEE!"

CRASH

WASTED

"Oh Foxy you're just in time for my chocolate pizza." Chica said.

"YAY! Let me guess, only for us?" Foxy smirked.

"You know it." Chica chuckled.

"Hehe, I love you Chica."

"I love you too Foxy! "

"HEY! WHAT ABOUT ME?" Bonnie yelled from the living room.

"Catch us next time." Chica said.

"Ugh, whatever I'm going for a drive. Might take Bon Bon with me." Bonnie grumbled.

Bonnie took his truck and headed over to pick up Bon Bon who agreed on the drive and they headed out onto the dirt roads listening to the truck's soothing hum of its engine.

"At least we're not in a car chase this time. That one we had during the road trip was hell." Bon Bon said.

"Yeah, nothing should go wrong. And why do I have a feeling I shouldn't have said that?" Bonnie asked.

"Because you shouldn't have." Bon Bon sighed.

Meanwhile, chaos streaked across downtown in the form of Springtrap who was on a run trying to clear his head. So much was on his mind, he was pissed about his failing mission and he was extremely angry at the Fazbear Gang. He didn't know what other ways to find info, they were his only chances at knowing something...and they were blowing it. But after hearing about how Fredrick was evil, couldn't stand people talking about it, which was why he ran from Nette since he mentioned it. He really wanted to forget about that part of his past. He honestly didn't care if he couldn't remember everything, but at least enough to know what he truly was.

Actually...deep down he didn't want to hurt the gang...something was giving him all the anger and need to attack them even if they didn't know him...but what? Did Fredrick have anything to do with it?

He raced through town knocking people over and bashing cars out of the way. Police had started to roam around looking for who was causing the destruction, but Springtrap was too fast to even see him. He ignored all the lights and sirens as he started to hop up towards the rooftops of some of the tallest buildings and scan the area. He felt a little ping in his head signaling him that one of the gang members was nearby.

"Hmm, probably that bunny. He's the most interesting of them all. Mabye I should pay him a little visit." Springtrap thought.

He hopped across the rooftops, heading towards the outskirts of town. Back with Bonnie and Bon Bon, they had stopped around the spot where Bonnie first confronted Foxy and were gazing at the stars.

"Wow...I miss the perfect days to go star gazing." Bon Bon said.

"Me too, we should do this more often." Bonnie said.

"...Hey Bonnie...could you promise me something."

"What is it?" Bonnie asked.

"That...if you ever get into any serious trouble, you'll let me back you up without question. You know I'm strong Bonnie, I can handle myself...after all, ever since we reunited you've helped me become stronger...and I just want to prove myself." Bon Bon said.

A tear slid down Bonnie's face before he grabbed Bon Bon into a hug.

"I promise." He whispered.

They stayed that way for a few more seconds before the truck is suddenly hit on Bonnie's side by some kind of blast almost making it fall on it's side.

"Aaaahhh, what was that?" Bon Bon whimpered.

Bonnie sees Springtrap walking over glowing in his gold aura. Bonnie turned to his sister who had a look of horror.

"Will you be okay?" Bonnie asked.

"Yeah, just see what he wants. But remember we're supposed to compromise with him." Bon Bon said.

"Heh, this guy attacked our friends...I can't let him get away with this." Bonnie said.

Bon Bon knew Bonnie was ignoring Freddy's orders and this would not sit well with the bear. Bonnie got out of the truck to face Springtrap.

"ALRIGHT BUNNY! WHAT'S YOUR DEAL? WHY ARE YOU HARASSING MY FRIENDS? AND WHY DO YOU LOOK EXACTLY LIKE ME?" Bonnie snarled.

"I SHOULD BE ASKING YOU THAT! YOU LOOK LIKE ME, ONLY PURPLE!" Springtrap said.

"Well I'm sure you're not a relative, or my twin. So what are you? Some fake bunny, yeah that's what Fredrick turned you into...a faker."

"FAKER? You're obviously some copycat of me. AND DON'T TALK ABOUT THE EXPERIMENTS! Fredrick may have made me this way apparently, but I'd make a better Bonnie than you. You're comparing yourself to me? HAH! You're not even good enough to be my fake!" Springtrap smirked.

"Are we seriously making this reference?" Bon Bon groaned from the truck.

"JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE CONFUSED AND DESPERATE DOES NOT MEAN YOU GO AND HURT MY FRIENDS! ESPECIALLY MY GIRLFRIEND!" Bonnie growled.

"You're friends are weak. I wanted to prove that. Plus none of them can remember me...I'm starting to think there's no point in trying to get you to remember. I'll have to find other methods." Springtrap assumed.

Springtrap tried to think back to the memory he received the first time he saw Bonnie. But it never came. But besides the memories, he wanted to see how tough this gang really was, and so far he's proven they weren't as tough as people said they were. His heart felt completely different about the situation, telling him this isn't right and to just leave...but his mind thought otherwise and ignored his heart.

"You know, Freddy wants us to help you out, but guess what? I'M GONNA DISOBEY HIS ORDER THIS TIME SO I CAN PUMMEL YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID!"

"BRING IT ON!"

Bonnie gritted his teeth before charging at Springtrap swinging wild punches. But to his horror, Springtrap dodged everything then teleported away. Bonnie looked around hoping to catch Springtrap, only to get a punch in the back of the head, then a kick to the back knocking him down. Bonnie turns over just in time to see Springtrap hover in the air and shoot orbs at him. Bonnie dodges several but gets hit by 3 of them knocking him down. Bon Bon watches in horror from the truck.

"BONNIE GET UP! GET UP!" She screamed.

Bonnie found the strength to do so just in time as he and Spingtrap locked hands in a deadlock trying to overpower each other. Bonnie's black eyes and Springtrap's green eyes locking onto each other.

"Damn this guy is powerful. Was he always this powerful before Fredrick?" Bonnie wondered.

"Hmph, Bonnie is strong I'll give him that...BUT NO ONE DEFEATS ME!" Spingtrap said.

One thing that began to creep out Bonnie, was Springtrap's sudden smile...which was unusually large and disturbing.

"What are you smiling about?" Bonnie asked.

"Oh just your defeat...and how I'm going after Freddy when I finish you off." Springtrap snarled.

Before Bonnie could respond, Springtrap teleoprted both of them away. Bon Bon gasped and got out of the truck.

"Where did they go?" Bon Bon looked around.

She looks up to see them reappear in the air and Springtraps throws Bonnie onto the ground before floating down himself. Bonnie struggles to get up again and Bon Bon races over to help.

"BONNIE HE'S NOT WORTH IT! LET'S GO!" Bon Bon started to drag him to the truck.

But Springtrap wasn't finished and he kicked Bon Bon away before picking up Bonnie and punching him hard in the face twice. Bonnie staggered around trying to clear his vision and he spat out a tooth. Bonnie couldn't believe this, how could he be defeated so quickly and easily? Then again...Foxy did take him by surprise in their first fight. Before he could focus on Springtrap, the golden bunny fired one more orb at him hitting Bonnie in the chest knocking him down.

Bon Bon had enough, she couldn't bare to see this go any further. She ran over to Bonnie and blocked Springtrap's way as Bonnie laid there.

"STOP!"

She let out a blood-curdling scream directed at Springtrap. She stared up at him, fists clenched tightly and eyes going black.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE! JUST STOP! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WE JUST WANNA HELP YOU! BUT YOU WON'T LET US!" Bon Bon yelled.

Springtrap stood their a little surprised at Bon Bon, he actually felt a little intimidated. He looked down at Bonnie's face still dumbfounded as to why they looked so much alike. Looks like there were even more things needed to be answered. Bon Bon angrily lunged at Springtrap but doesn't get the chance to hit him when he warps away. Bon Bon lands on the ground coughing, she ignores her pain and quickly goes to put Bonnie back in the truck, from there she'd drive over to Nette's house to heal him. Bonnie had lost consciousness and was bruised and beaten all over his body.

"Don't worry Bonnie, you're safe with me." Bon Bon whispered.

She kissed Bonnie on the cheek and drove to Nette's house. Over at Freddy's house, the bear was sitting up on his bed not able to sleep. His mind had became a battlefield for two forces, one about Bonnie being connected with Springtrap, another with how were they going to stop the shadow creatures.

"Ugh...mabye I should get some water."

Freddy was about to leave his room when his phone rang, it was Bon Bon.

"Hello?"

"Freddy, something terrible happened!"

"What?"

"That bunny ambushed me and Bonnie on the outskirts of town."

"What? Oh god, are you guys okay?"

"I'm fine, but that guy beat the shit out of Bonnie. Bonnie wanted to fight him instead of reasoning with him because he attacked the others. Some words were exchanged, then they starting fighting and Bonnie lost badly. I'm taking him over to Nette right now."

"DAMN IT! Bonnie jeopardized our plan!"

"I tried to get him to stop but that golden bunny was too pissed to care what I felt."

"Ugh...look I'll talk to Bonnie tomorrow about this. Just make sure he gets treated okay?"

"Okay...I'm sorry Freddy."

"It's okay sweetie, you did what you could."

Bon Bon hung up and Freddy had to resist the urge to yell out in anger. He was so mad at Bonnie, but worried about his condition.

"Bonnie why? Only you would do this." Freddy shook his head.

"Indeed he would." Came a voice.

Freddy's eyes grew and he gulped. Springtrap...was right behind him. The bear slowly turned around squinting his eyes in case he was going to get punched immediately. But he didn't receive one, Springtrap just stood their grinning like a wild man. Freddy adjusted his bowtie he meant to take off earlier as sweat came down his forehead.

"It's you." Freddy gasped.

"Hello Freddy Fazbear...nice to finally meet you in person." Springtrap growled.

"Uh...how do you know where I live?" Freddy asked.

"Oh I once saw Bonnie heading towards this house...figured it'd be yours. It's such a nice and neat house and you're a nice and neat bear."

Freddy thought that was a rather nice compliment and he smiled nervously.

"T-Thank you." Freddy studdered.

"Now then Fazbear..."

Springtrap grabbed Freddy by the fur on his chest, then raised a fist to Freddy's face.

"...Let's have a little chat..."

Uh-oh, Bonnie screwed up the plan...almost. And it looks like Freddy has deal with Springtrap now! But...who said it'd be a battle this time? By the way I want to remind everyone that though it seems like it, Springtrap is not, nor will he ever be, a villain! He's currently just a confused and angry bunny desperate for answers that no one is giving him. I wanted to develop the relationship more between Shadow Bonnie and Shadow Freddy which resulted in the little scene around the beginning of this chapter. There will hopefully be more, and they are getting very close to town. What will truly happen between Springtrap and Freddy? STAY TUNED!
