This is the fourth chapter! Enjoy!
Reeka's POV
Yes, I assumed correctly. We were reaching the Western Air Temple. As Appa landed, I pushed Toph on Aang, watching both their faces getting identical blushes. I smirked and earthbended myself off Appa, pulling a giant rock towards me with a mere flick of my wrist. Sokka and Katara looked impressed while the Avatar and my sister were in their own world. Ahem, ahem.
"Kai!" yelled H outraged as I knocked some sense into her, literally with a rock. Aang looked petrified as the rock almost knock his head off. I rolled my eyes, I wasn't going to kill the Avatar.
I smiled at my angry sister. "That's for being violent" I replied as I zoomed past her, on a rock. She rolled her eyes and blushed, as Aang helped her get off. I smiled. Young Love. I sound like Iroh. I shuddered. That reminded me, where was he?
I was knocked out of my thoughts as a very excited Aang came up to me. "Let me show you around, Reeka" He smiled, widely, showing me all of his teeth. He was adorable. I smiled and nodded. He took my hand and I saw wind fly past me so quickly that I was getting a stomach ache. Suddenly it stopped. I was about a mile away from the others. I groaned. "Next time, give me a warning" I told Aang, but he wasn't listening. I looked at his direction, curiously, when I saw another person with us.
How didn't I sense him? Maybe it was the fact that I was spinning in the air uncontrollably? Yup. That's it.
I stopped my sarcastic thoughts and looked at him. He was about 6 feet 1 inch and looked about 17 years old. He wore a fire nation attire, which was torn on his arms. He had a scar on his face that ran from his left eye to almost half of his left cheek. But the most peculiar thing about him, was his expression. Most firebenders I've met are either angry or vengeful, but this person looked like he was guilty, like he had made the biggest mistake in the world and hoped that he could fix it. No one could fake an expression like that. No one.
I looked around, and realized that as I was thinking, all the others were in their respective bending stances. So I was correct, he is from the Fire Nation.
I kept on standing in my relaxed pose. I was determined to find out what was going on, but as I was about voice out my confusion, the Fire Nation person spoke "Hi, um…Zuko here. But you already know that." So his name was Zuko. Why does that name ring a bell? Interesting. Katara interrupted him "What are you here for? For Aang? You are not going to get him." She had a jet of water ready.
He raised his hands up in surrender. "No, I don't want the Avatar. I am sorry for everything I have done, everything I have put you through. I was blind" Toph snorted at that. I shook my head amused as I saw Zuko's confusion. He ignored her and continued "But now I am here to help you defeat my father, by teaching the Avatar firebending." He finished. My eyes widened. Of course, he is Zuko the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation. Why didn't I notice before?
"That's all you say? Sorry? We don't need your expertise. We have Reeka here to teach Aang firebending." Sokka retorted, pointing at me.
I grimaced. I usually wouldn't have minded the attention, but looking at the way Zuko's face fell, looking at me, I would gladly be anywhere else. I guess I do pity him.
Zuko, meanwhile, sat on his knees, and said "If you don't want me, then take me as a prisoner," while he gave both his hands towards us.
Respect surged through me. He is very brave and truly remorseful.
Snapping me out of my thoughts, again, Katara splashed water on him and said, "We won't fall to your level. We won't take you as a prisoner, just go." At that moment, Katara, Sokka and Aang left, leaving H and I with Zuko.
He got up slowly, and not even bothering to turn back, walked to the tress, a little far away from here. As he was going, I looked at H, "H, I don't know what Zuko has done or who he even is, but I know that he was speaking the truth." She looked at me. "I know he was, Kai, I could feel it, but the others won't believe us." I smiled. "We just have to make them" She smiled.
With this new found hope, we together, went inside.
Zuko's POV
"H, I don't know what Zuko has done or who he even is, but I know that he was speaking the truth." Said the new firebending girl, Reeka – I think. So she believes me? "I know he was, Kai, I could feel it, but the others won't believe us." Replied the short earthbender, Toph. Wait. Kai? Wasn't her name Reeka?
Wait. Toph believes me too? I kept on walking away so I didn't hear anything further. So Reeka, or Kai, is teaching the Avatar firebending. She doesn't look like a firebender, I doubt that she is a good firebender. Maybe she does need help to teach the Avatar since she doesn't look like a real firebender. She saw everyone ready to attack me, yet she didn't change her posture. Why? Arent firebenders just itching to fight? Was it because she didn't know me?
I felt her emerald green eyes observing me. If she has green eyes, shouldn't she be an earthbender? I shook my head slightly. I shouldn't be trying to figure out the secrets of the new team Avatar member. I should be figuring out how to gain the Avatar's trust. I reached my tent and laid down, I have some serious planning to do.
