Well hello there. Uhhh, so first things first. I haven't updated this story in about...6 months, which I hated. There were things that popped up in between that Feb and now that distracted me from putting a great amount of time into doing the next chapter. Also, my lazyness may have held me back a bit, as well as a small a mount of writers block. I finally finished this chapter, its a little longer than normal, so Yayyy? For those that have Favorited, Followed and Reviewed, i thank you. It was you who kept me coming back every chance i could to finish this chapter up. Alright I'll shut up now.
Chapter 4: The Last Of Us
{Jade POV}
Well, this sure isn't awkward at all.
"Cat! Heyyyyyy girl, Um, what are you doing here?" I hear Tori say behind me, her hand still in my hair, though not in the tight grip she had moments ago.
"I was looking for a quiet place to start my paper, and then I heard noises coming from in here so I came to check it out. What are you two doing here?" I hear Cat say with suspicion in her voice while pointing at us. However shall Vega explain this?
"Oh! I was just-I mean Jade and I here were just-I mean I was helping Jade find her scissors?! Yeah! Jade here lost her scissors and I was helping her find them" Tori rushes out, fumbling her words. "Isn't that right Jade?" I hear Tori say to me through gritted teeth, turning my head to look up at her. She no longer has her hand in my hair, but instead is gently directing it towards her, while also stroking my hair, which I damn sure could get used to. I don't think Tori would pull that Kimbo Slice chiz in front of Cat, but clearly Tori is in a mind state I haven't seen her in before….
So I think I'll just play along here.
"Uh yeah, cause, you know me, always losing stuff" I say looking at Cat with no feeling in my voice.
"So, Cat, do you mind, me and Jade wanna get back to finding her scissors, I'm sure you have better things to do than help us in this dingy ol' bathroom" Tori gets out nervously. She is trying so hard to get Cat out of here, to finish what she started. I stare at Cat in the eyes and she stares back.
Dammit Cat! We have been friends for years, you know when something's up with me. I'm on my damn knees in front of a toilet for god sakes!
Cat looks back and forth between me and Tori, turns her head to the side, and then giggles.
Awww shit, here we go.
"Ok" Is all Cat says before she turns around and head towards the door. I look up and see Tori smile. She thinks Cat is leaving for good. Not so fast Tori. The next thing we hear is a *Click* sound and then Cat comes back into view and stops in front of Tori and I.
With an ear to ear smile
"No one is leaving until I know what's going on" Cat says in a sickly sweet, yet ominous tone. That's my girl.
Tori moves away from me to stand in front of Cat. I take that opportunity to stand up, dust off my knees and face them both. Tori looks back at me then back at Cat.
"Nothing's going on Cat, just me and Jade hanging out" Tori says nervously, she knows she's lying, I know she's lying…and so does Cat. I can tell by the look in Cat's eyes that she'll be pulling back a bit on the naivety, which will most be a 360 from how Tori has seen her before.
"I doubt that's true Tori, cause when I walked in it looked as though you were about to put Jade's face into that toilet" Cat said pointing to the crapper behind the both of us. "Now what could have happened to drive you to wanna put her head in the Toilet?" Cat says looking into Tori's eyes, they then shift to my own then back to Tori. "Or should I say what did Jade say or do to make you wanna put her head in the toilet?"
What. The. Hell!
"Me!? What do you mean what did I do?! I didn't do a damn thing!" I yell out at Cat, pissed that she thinks I brought his on.
"Well, Jade, why else would Tori be putting your head in the toilet? I don't know how you could have messed this up, you were supposed to just apologize, Jade."
Tori looks back and forth between Cat and me, eyelids closing in what I can only guess is suspicion. Cat takes my silence to move forward towards me, putting one finger in my face.
"You had one Job!"
"Hey hey hey, don't you dump the blame on me Cat, Ok? I brought Vega up here to say sorry, then she damn near tackled me out the building through the window!" I say angrily, pointing to Tori and then the window behind her.
Cat stretches to her tippy toes to look over Tori's shoulder to see the window, then diverts her attention to Tori herself, whose eyes are downward and a face full of thought, I can see the wheels turning.
"Then! She proceeded to work me over like a piñata at a psychotic 8 year Old's birthday party!"
"Poppycock! Tori wouldn't do that to anyone, even you Jade"
"Well she did dammit"
"Well I don't believe you"
"Ok, you want proof then!? Fine!" I lifted up my shirt up just before my bra to show Cat both what I did and didn't wanna see, the light discoloration of my skin in the areas that Vega hit me, my stomach and sides were sore, and the area around my ribs was starting to show signs of bruising. I cringed at the sight since it was my first time seeing it, my pale skin was not meant to be marked! I looked at Cat to see her eyes wide.
"Oh my gosh, but this doesn't make sense, why would Tor..."
"Rocky is standing two feet away from you, why don't you ask her"
Cat reaches out and strokes her hand over the marks, her hands are really soft, again, if I wasn't still in love with brunette Latina, and if Cat wasn't like a sister….
"Cat?"
My head jerks up towards the voice I just heard. Cat does the same.
"Yes Tori?"
"What did you say?"
"What did I say when?"
"Before"
"I said 'What did I say when.'
"No I just heard you, I'm asking what you said before"
"I said yes Tori"
If my side were not hurting, I'm sure I would be on the floor laughing at this mindless back and forth between these two.
"No not just now, when you came in here"
"I said Lalalalalala"
No no after that"
"Dangit"
"No after that"
"I started to talk about how I was looking for a place to do my paper when I heard a noise." It is at this point, Tori places her hands on Cat's shoulders, while I try not to face palm.
"No Cat! Right after you yelled Dangit, what did you say? RIGHT AFTER YOU SAID DANGIT"
Cat looks down in concentration until you can practically see the light bulb go off above her head. "OH, I said I owe beck 50 bucks."
Tori lets out a groan of relief and I let out a chuckle at their antics. "Yes, Cat, Yes! Thank you, now, why did you say that after you saw me and Jade?"
You know, I'd like to know the answer to that as well.
"Uhhhhhhh, it was just the moment I remembered that, like the time I was watching Real Housewives of Atlanta and I remembered where I put my retainer from 3 grade" Cat said looking everywhere but Tori and I. Tori takes her hands and places them on both sides of Cat's face, directing Cat's eyesight to her own.
"You're lying to me Cat, please don't lie to me."
"Uhhhh, uhhhh, ummmmm"
Still holding Cat's face, Tori turns her attention to me again, looking directly in my eyes. "You also said it was Jade's job to apologize to me, so it was you made her do it huh?"
I take this moment to step in the conversation. "No! Beck and Cat had nothing to do with me bringing you up here, I told you that Tori."
"Funny, Jade, I only questioned Cat if she made you do it, I didn't say anything about Beck."
"Listen, they knew I was apologizing to you, they only…encouraged me not to mess it up by insulting you or what not. I swear that's the truth." I tell Tori, trying to convince her that
this was a solo event.
"She's telling you the truth Tori, I don't know how you two ended up in whatever situation you did, but we didn't make Jade come to you to apologize, that was all her. Jade WANTED to this…well not THIS exactly, but you get me, right?" Cat said to her while placing her right hand on Tori's neck and tracing her thumb across her cheek. Watch your hands kitty, before I take them like I took your red locks.
"So, you were actually gonna truthfully say sorry to me? No snarky, sarcastic, backhanded comment, you mean an actual apology?"
"Yes Tori, yes." I then take a step towards her and wrap my arms around her neck in a hug and I feel Cat step aside. "I'm sorry Tori, I'm sorry for the shit greeting I gave you the first day we met, I'm sorry for the constant invasions of privacy I have shown you, I regret basically spitting in your face whenever you extended a hand out to me" I'm both surprised and glad she didn't hit me when I moved in to hug her. I get a bit too comfortable and angle my nose into the crook of her neck and breathe in her scent. Mmmmmm
I open my eyes and see that Cat is behind Tori and I catch her lifting up two fingers in a V position and watch as she wiggles her tongue between them, to which I glare back at her. While simultaneously wishing I could do what she is implying. I didn't wanna press my luck, or my self-control, so I released her from the hug and did another brave act, I grabbed both of her hands in my own her eyes go wide. "Most of all, I am sorry Victoria, if I ever made you feel like you were less of a person, less than the amazing woman that you really are….sorry If I made you feel as if you weren't worthy of my friendship. Honestly, because of everything that has taken place between us, how you have always treated me, truth is I'm not worthy of yours." It all just came out, I'm not sure if I could have done this in front of the rest of the gang, but I trust Cat, and even though I never verbalized it, I trust Tori.
"Y-you really mean that Jade?" Tori asked me, her voice slightly cracking, even a tear sliding down her face. Oh my god, I think I'm getting through to her, I think she's believing me. Fuck Yea!
"Yes I mean it" I said to her, taking her hands which I still held and interlocking out fingers together. At that point I hear Cat's phone go off, and the bathroom is filled with Fun's "We Are Young" and I know by that ringtone that it is Beck calling her, Cat looks at it but doesn't answer, I guess just letting it go to voicemail, her attention then comes back to me and Tori. Next thing I know, before I can even react, Tori releases our lock and grabs me and lifts me off my feet. Oh shit! What the hell, I didn't do anything!
I close my eyes waiting for the chiz to go down again…..but it doesn't. I open my eyes to see that Tori has me in a hug, a really tight hug, but a hug none the less. Tori Vega is hugging me, fucking score!
She then swings my back and forth excitedly. "Tori, you're kinda…..crushing my spleeeeen and ribs…." I tell her while struggling to breath. She swings me back and forth once more, my feet connecting with someone's hands, Cat, and I hear something hit the ground, also a tiny squeak, soon I'm also offered the same privilege of reaching the floor. "Oh! Sorry Jade, I didn't mean to hurt you." She tells me, then her eyes go wide. "Oh My God! I hurt you! Jade I-I am so sorr-" Tori doesn't get to finish what I assume was an apology before a voice comes from below us, which I was Cat's phone that I assume she dropped when I hit her.
Hey Cat, just wanted to remind you to have my money in 5's on Monday, haha, cause you know Jade is gonna choke on that apology right? I mean we had to basically had to put a gun to her head to make sure she would speak to Tori, with the look in her eyes we both know she would have ran away if we left her on her own….
My eyes go wide at hearing this, that idiot!. I look to Tori and Cat and we all had the same idea and reach for the phone, but neither Cat or I get it, Tori was faster. She grabbed it and moved away from us, I tried to reach for it but she raised her hand higher and shoved me back a bit with her other hand and glared at me. Oh, so were back to that eh. The message keeps playing.
Anyway, if by some chance they do hit it off ok, I'll have your cash after school, but we both know that won't happen, haha. Also, me Andre and Robbie are going bowling Sunday, if you finish your work and wanna come lemme know, K? Later Cat.
It becomes silent in the bathroom for a few moments, no one saying anything, the tension is so thick, until it's broken. "M-may I have my phone back n-now?" I hear Cat ask Tori shakily. Now is not the time Cat!
"You and Beck…had a bet to see if Jade wouldn't apologies to me?" Cat begin to sputter out nonsense. She then looks at me, and I glare back, because I'm pissed she would do that, her and that other dumbass. I feel Tori's eyes come to me. "Did you know about this bet Jade?" My eyes snap to her. "No! No, no, no! I had nothing to do with that, this is the first time I heard of it." I am not getting blamed for that shit. Her eyes show she is skeptical. Then she looks back to Cat, with a look of realization on her face. "So, that's why you said you owed Beck money, you thought when I had Jade in front of the toilet, that she messed up, you thought we had a fallout, an argument right?!"
"You have really pretty eyes Tori!" Oh my god, really Cat, you think that's gonna work? I feel an elbow tap me a few times. "Don't you agree Jade, Tori's eyes are soooooo pretty." Tori just stares at Cat and shakes her head. "You two idjits bet on the outcome of my conversation with Tori, what the hell!?" I say, steamed with their actions. "So you didn't think I could do it huh?! Jade was just gonna fuck up again huh!?" Cat hangs her head down in shame, like she should. "It wasn't like that Jadey, really, me and Beck were just playing around you know? We didn't mean any harm" Cat said in a small voice, it's hard to stay mad at her, but I have to. "You two obviously DID mean something by it if you would make a be-"
"Tell me Cat…" Before I can finish my verbal attack on Cat I hear Tori address her. "Was there some kind of extra payment if certain requirements were met?" Cat's head rises up and she looks at Tori again, but Vega's gaze is unfocused looking elsewhere. "Would you have gotten more money if I believed Jade's words within a specific time limit? Huh?"
"W-what? N-no Tori is wasn-"
"Like, if I believed Jade's lies within 5 minutes, would you have gotten an extra 50? Or, or, or like, if she made me believe her apology within a minute of our talk, that Beck would buy you lunch for a week? Huh!?" Oh god, I didn't wanna see this side of her again, she's hurt.
"On the other side, what if Jade had made me cry huh!? Would you have had to pay Beck more than 50!?" Cat is shrinking again, I don't like when other people yell at Cat, that's my job. "What about if she did harm to me, or stabbed me with her scissors, what would you have owed him then!? A blow job!?" I see Cat's eyes start to tear up and I hear her whimpering. Enough.
"How about if-"
"HEY!" I yell out to Tori, instantly her eyes come back to me. "Lay off of her Vega!" I wrap an arm around Cat's shoulder and bring her close. I slipped with the Vega, because I was pissed. "Aaaaaaaand back to you Jade, because apparently you're complete and utter bullshit of wanting to apologize on your own was just what I thought it was, bullshit!" She said to me gesturing to Cat's phone. Fucking Beck was talking out of his ass, I could tell he meant that gun shit as a joke, Tori though heard it as truth. I am kicking his skinny ass when I get out of here.
"But then again, you still got me….you still got me to believe you, with all your soft words, and hand holding, and hugs, and fake tears." I basically pour some of my soul to her, and that Dick's message made her doubt it, she'll never believe what I say again. "You think I made all that up? Really Tori?" She continues on, apparently not hearing me.
"I mean, you always said you were a great actress, and yes, I have seen you act, but damn." She looks up at me, right in my eyes, and I can see pain behind them, the hurt, and the tears. "You made me a believer today; you damn sure belong here at Hollywood Arts Jade." Its hurts that she thinks it was all a lie, but then again from everything up until this point, who could blame her. I decide one last chance at being direct, I move away from Cat and approach Tori, she steps back but bumps into a wall allowing me to put my hands in her hair and bring my face close to hers. Despite everything that has taken place today, right now I just wanna slam my lips to hers and shove my tongue down her throat and claim her as mine, like she should be. Ughh, I am too worked up right now, especially for someone who probably has fractured ribs. I'm surprised that she didn't punch me just by reaction. "Beck. Doesn't know. What the FUCK he is talking about ok? They made me do nothing I didn't want to do."
"If anyone could, I'd say it be your best friend and the guy who used to bend you over and fuck you." She said with a smirk at that last part. My eyes widened at that statement, I didn't think Tori could get vulgar, and I never imagined this side of her existed. Maybe if you stopped being so angry and stubborn Tori, you could be the one who bends me over and fu-Stop It West! First the violent side, now the vulgar mean side, how far down did she keep all this buried. I took a step back and released her hair. I also heard a high pitched noise behind me and I turn my head to see Cat covering her ears.
"You know, once when me and Cat had a project, we worked on it in her room, and when she went to get us snacks, I happened to see some of her diary, which she left open on her dresser, silly Cat." Tori whispered to me so Cat couldn't hear us, who still had hands on her ears. "On the pages she left open, I read something that really makes me think she's not as innocent as she lets on." You don't know the half of it Vega. I looked her in the eyes that relayed my feeling of her wanting to continue on with her revelation.
"The many naughty things she wants to do to my sister, and done to her in return, and I have to say it was a shocking….and disturbing reveal." Cat has never gone into detail of what she wants to do to Trina, which I am really glad for, but from the sleepovers we have had, she sometimes moans Trina's name in her sleep, which is how I found out in the first place, which I poked fun at for like a whole day, and maybe used as blackmail material to get a few things out of her…..just a little.
"One! Don't presume to know anything about the sex life Beck and I had, Two, apologize for getting vulgar around Cat!" I know that Cat can say some pretty naughty things when she wants to, but Tori didn't know that. "You know, the way you said that Jade, one would think that you are giving me a demand and that you're in charge" She then lifts her right hand and places it on my left shoulder, palm open towards my face. "Do you feel in charge?" The low tone that she said it in sent a shiver down my spine, the way she looked me in my eyes, hard for me to admit yet again, but it fuckin freaked me out.
"You know Vega, that's a low, you had no right to read her private thoughts, I expect better from you"
"What are you two whispering about?" Cat says from behind me. I hear her move closer to me and Tori.
"That's funny, coming from the girl who trespassed into my room and rummaged through my stuff." Well, she had me there. "Yea well that's me, you're different, you're nice, Tori doesn't do things like that." I say back, trying to remind her that she is a sweet person underneath all of this vengeance.
"I don't do things like that? How can you say that Jade? You don't even know me! You don't know the type of person I am, or the shit that I have been through, and you obviously never made an attempt to know!" She totally fucking right, on that front, I have no one else to blame but myself.
"You could sneak into my room every day, read all the pages in my diary, go through all my drawers, interrogate everyone in my family, and you still wouldn't know who the hell I am inside." I can see the tears returning to her eyes, and it is breaking me inside.
"You think that I'm some perfect girl who lives in a perfect little bubble where nothing goes wrong, that I'm always smiling, that I sing perfectly, that I get all the lead roles, and that everyone loves me and no one hates me right? That's why you have hated me from the start right?" I would use the word Jealous more than hate, but she doesn't need to know that right now.
"Then, you thought I was gonna swoop in and steal your perfect boyfriend, for fuck sakes Jade! I don't even li-" She says but then abruptly stops and looks down and closes her eyes.
"Nevermind" What? What the hell was she going to say? That she doesn't even like Beck? That she doesn't even like Canadians? That she doesn't even like….boys? No, no, that's stupid, she's had boyfriends before, at least 3 that I know of, Danny, Steven, and I guess Ryder, all douchebags, but still. No matter how much I want it to be, I doubt she's gay.
"Then tell me Tori, tell me who you are, tell me the type of person you are inside, that's what this was supposed to be, I wanted us to bury this chiz between us and get to know each other, I swear!" I say to her, hoping again to get through to her. She looks back up at me, eyes still watery, and filled with apprehension. I take this time to try and open a door, to show I have an interest in her past. "Y-you said something earlier about someone focusing hatred on on a girl….were you that girl? Did someone hurt you?" I asked her, sympathy throughout my voice, and I realized two things, it wasn't even remotely faked, and if someone did hurt her, I want to find them and beat the brakes off of them.
So, apparently that door I tried to open, the door handle was tied to the string of a claymore pin, so when I opened it the claymore went off and blew up in my face. That is because I felt myself fly back and collapse onto the floor, because Tori pushed me.
"No one hurt me! No one CAN hurt me, Jade. Not you or anyone else!" She's putting up a front, like me, we are far more alike than thought. "Not anymore." That part she said low, it confirms my earlier suspicions. Hitting the floor made the already evident pain in my back double up. I see Tori begin walking towards me, and I try to guard against what I'm thinking to be, another assault.
"Noooooooooooo" I hear Cat yell out, then I feel a weight cover my body, opening my eyes I see Cat covering my body with her own, and I think she's trying to protect me from Tori. Adorable. "Please stop Tori, please don't hurt Jade!" I hear Cat plead to Tori. "You'll have to kill me first!….but please don't, I like being alive."
I see Tori approach us and then crouch down in front of me and Cat. She begins to laugh, and not in the sadistic way, more like this is actually amusing to her. "Don't worry Cat, I'm done hurting Jade, well, after that push I am." Tori's eyes fall to mine when she mentions my name. She then takes a deep breath. "So, here's how this is going to go from now on Jade, you shall get what you have always dreamed of." You mean the one where you're under me writhing in passion, my fingers inside you, my teeth on your neck, and you moaning out my name?
"The dream you have wanted to come true not long after we met" Oh yea, it's a sex dream, it's gotta be one of my sex dreams. "Which is me no longer trying to become your friend." Awww dammit, not that dream, I had it like once…ok maybe twice, and it was in the beginning, I don't want that dream to happen anymore. I try not to let it show in my face, but it does a little, I couldn't help it. I even hear Cat gasp above me. "Oh don't look so disappointed Jade, this is what you always wanted right? For me to stop saying Hi to you, for me to stop asking you for things, for me to stop referring to you as my friend, well, you have finally won, cause I am done." These are not the words that I have wanted to hear from her, ok sure, once upon a time maybe I would be happy to see her give up in her pointless attempt to be friends with me, but that was before I wanted to be more than her friend, before she snuck her way in to my damn heart.
"I'm sure there will be times where we may have to speak to each other, where we will have to work together, maybe in Sikowitz class, maybe another, and during those times I will be kind, and civil, and pleasant, I can't say the same for you." I open my mouth to speak against that but she puts her finger to my lips to keep me quiet, and it takes a lot of will power not to engulf that slender digit with my mouth.
"Beyond that, Jade, I'm no longer trying for your friendship, and come to think of it, I should have stopped trying long ago, right? I mean, other person would have seen the signs, taken the hints and left you alone, but silly me, I just kept pushing." At this point she moves to stand but I grab her wrist, not hard, but firm, and she looks me in the eye.
"I know Tori, and I-I can't change the past, I can't go back and change the way that we met, or everything I have done to you afterwards, the only thing that I CAN do, is make sure we don't walk down a similar path going forward." I say to her, trying to alter her plans of never dealing with me in a social way again. "I am asking you, to please, give me this chance, to show to you that I am trying for a change, that I want us to be-"
As much as I want to be more than friends with her, much more, I don't think girlfriends would be the right word at the moment.
"-friends." It was hard to get that word out. Tori stares for a few seconds, then closes her eyes, smirks, and shakes her head.
"Look at you Jade, it took so much to even say the word, like it disgusted you, you don't want to be my friend." Yes I wanna be your friend, I just don't want it to stop there dammit! Her eyes then dart to Cat.
"Any minor steps you have ever taken to be the least civil towards me have been as a courtesy, as much of a courtesy that Jade West can give, to Cat, Beck, Andre and Robbie." They have been both for the gang and Tori herself. "I appreciate that, but I am tired of this struggle, and I am sure you are too." She rises from her crouched position and starts walking around me and Cat to look out the window.
"It's not true Tori, please just belie-dammit Jade! Just tell her! Now!" Cat turned her attention to me, looking down at my shocked face.
I give her a look that says 'Shut the hell up' but when she gets going it's hard to stop her. "No Jade, tell Tori right now, or I swear I'll tell her myself" If Cat lets the…Cat out of the bag, I will strangle her until she stops moving.
"Tell me what exactly Cat?"
"NOTHING!" I yell out, not wanting Cat to blab.
Cat and Tori both look to me, and I give the former a mean stare down, trying to discourage her, apparently that doesn't work.
"You see Tori, Jade here actually lo-" She begins, but I don't let her finish.
"Cat I swear if you tell for me, I'll tell for you!" I'm dead serious, take me down, I sure as hell am dragging her with me.
*High pitch squeak* "No Jade don't! Ok, Ok, I won't say anything"
"You better fucking not."
"My lips are sealed."
"Lock them."
*Key in lock motion* "Ok they are locked."
"Throw the key away."
"But what if I need it back?"
"Throw the damn key away Cat!"
*Throwing motion* "Ok, it's gone."
"GOOD!"
"Sighs Heavily"
"What the hell is going on?" That last part was Tori, I guess confused by the exchange between Cat and I. "What are you two talking about?" Tori asks, her eyes darting back and forth between us.
"Nothing!" Cat and I say at the same time, far too quickly to not arouse suspicion. She glares at us both. "You know what, fine, keep your secrets, I don't even care, cause I'm done." She moves to get up, gathering what little things she brought here with her, and I just lie there, watching her head towards the door, because I'm too fucking scared to let her know. Fuck.
"No Tori, please don't, we're all friends here, we shouldn't fight in such a wa-"
"Are we Cat? Really? Are we all really friends?" She questioned Cat. "I have to say, it sure was courageous of you to protect Jade when you thought I was gonna hit her, tell me, do you cover the grenade with your body like that for all of your friends, or is Jade a special case?"
"Wha?, I always help my friends, you know that Tori." Cat says while reaching out to touch her arm. I take this time to sit up and lean against the nearest wall. "I thought you were gonna hurt Jadey so I covered her, you to shouldn't be fighting, you two are of the closest people to me, I don't like you fighting, I never have."
"It's funny you say all that Cat, because I can't remember anytime you have helped me or tried to protect me when Jade harassed me, or really anyone else for that matter."
"That's not true Tori, I always….." Cat drifts of and looks down, deep in thought. Shit

Tori tells Cat, while shuddering at that last part, hell, we all did, being on top of Sinjin was not a visual we needed.

I know I don't always step in against Jade's antics, but if I ever thought she would actually hurt you I would step in so fast your head would spin!" Cat runs and grabs hold of Tori in one of her signature death lock hugs. "I love you Tori, your one of my best-est friends, please don't hate me." Tori lets out a large exasperated sigh. Yep, Cat's forgiven. Nice to know even with all these different sides to her, she still can't hate Cat. "Fine Cat, I don't hate you."
"YAYYYYYYY!" Cat begins running around the bathroom

I hear the ringtone on my phone that I set for Beck go off, I pull out my phone and hit the ignore button, he's got some nerve calling me after the shitstorm he help start. Cat and Tori's eyes fall on me.
"Beck?" Cat asks me
"Yep" I reply nonchalantly.
"I think I'm done here." That came from Tori who began gathering what she came in here with. I just sit there and watch, still too fucking afraid to explain to her how I feel, when a hand meets the back of my head. When did everyone decide to hit me today?!
"Jade, say something now!" Cat whisper yelled at me.
"I-I don't know what I'm supposed to say Cat."
"You two just can't stop whispering to each other, can you?" Tori caught us again. "Cat, tell me what you and Jade are talking about."
"Ummmm I don't know. Jade, were we talking about anything?" She looks at me like "fucking tell her already" but I just can't get the courage. I notice Tori pull out her phone and look at it thoughtfully.
"Wow, looks like it's going to be really hot tomorrow, 103 degrees, wow! The hottest it's been in a while, gonna be a scorcher" Tori exclaims. I saw the weather channel this morning before I left for school, I know how hot it will be, though I'm not sure why she decide to change the subject from us to the weather.
"I guess I'll maybe have a little pool party this weekend, maybe invite over a few friends. Oh! Trina and I got new bikinis, I guess that would be the perfect time to whip em out." Tori says joyfully with a little wiggle of her shoulders. Wait, did she just say..
Bikinis!? Cat and I say at the same time. I get a look from Tori that basically transfers to 'Why would you care'. I care cause I'd like to see that nice ass of yours, without stooped pants getting in the way. Two items of clothing are very easy to tear off your sexy half Latina body.
She continues on anyway. "Yeah, we got these new Lace bikinis and we have been waiting to wear them."
"L-lace Bikinis"? Yet again Cat and I say at the same time, we gotta stop doing that. I didn't even know bikinis came in lace. "Yeah, we picked them up last week from my secret."
"My secret? I've never heard of that place" I replied, must be new.
"Yea me neither." Cat follows.
Tori looked at us like we had two heads. 'You don't get it? My secret? My name?"
Cat and I just shake our heads in the negative.

"Oh, I uhh get it now" Hot as hell, but she's still a dork. A dork that you love. Cat just chuckles, while Tori frowns at our reactions.

"S-So Tori, what time is the pool party?" Cat asked with her hands together. "Hmmm, maybe around noon or so, why?" Tori replied while looking back at her phone.

"YES! Ermmm *Cough* I mean, sure Tori, I would like to come to your pool party." Smooth Cat, real smooth.
"Well Cat, here's the thing, I only want friends at this party." Tori said while shrugging. What, now she's saying Cat isn't her friend? Wow, the temperature sure did drop in here.
"I-I'm n-not y-your f-f-f-friend?" Cat said, voice cracking, eyes wide, lip quivering and all. "The thing is, my friends shouldn't keep secrets from me, soooooo, I mean, if I knew what you and Jade were whispering about…." Ohhhhh you sly little shit, now I get it, using Cat's own desire of a chance to see Trina half naked, Sneaky, Sneaky Tori. Cat turned and looked at me, desperation filling her eyes. I just glared at her, shaking my head no. I'm assuming that there will be no invitation for me after today's events, and if I can't see Tori in a bikini, then Cat won't be seeing her eye candy.
Cat takes this moment to make a loud unintelligible noise, something I can best describe as a pterodactyl screech and the noise that Chewbacca makes. Tori steps back a bit and I jump to my feet moving away as well. She then sighs loudly and has this seizure like shake, and I might have been worried if I hadn't know this was just her acting out. Cat has a tendency to stomp and pout when she doesn't get what she wants sometimes, considering how much she likes Trina, I'm surprised things weren't thrown at me.
"Um, Cat, are you ok?" Tori said reaching a hand out. Shoulders slumped, Cat pouts at me then looks at Tori. "Yea, I gues-"

Ugh, Dammit Beck, stop calling me right now! I take my phone out, hit decline then put it back in my pocket. "I'm sorry Tori, but it's not my place to tell you what we whispered to each other."
"That's because we whispered nothing to each other!"
"Yeah, what Jade said" Cat replied sadly.
Tori's face then goes into thinking mode, hand under her chin and all. "You know what, sure Cat, you can come anyway, I'm sure Trina would invite you anyhoo."
"REALLY!? YAYYYYYYY" Cat yelled out right before squeezing Tori again. "Cat, my spine.'
"Oh sorry, my bad, hehehe" Cat giggled happily while releasing her. Well isn't this great, she gets to see her Vega half naked, while mine nearly broke me in half today. This really sticks in my craw.
"Well, I guess I'm done here, see you tomorrow Cat." Tori's gaze then turned on me, and we stared at each other for about 10 seconds, I could see it in her eyes, she regrets what she did, or at least to the level that she did it.
"I might have taken things a bit too far, I can admit that, but I don't regret the message, which is I'm done being a source for your twisted amusement, and that if you try and continue it….well, you know I won't just huff and wine about it." Her eyes then fall to my ribs. "You should probably ice those up, I'm sure I didn't break anything, but you will be sore for a few days, and since you're about as white as the sand on a beach in Los Cabos, you'll probably be showing a little color in that area." A joke about my complexion, I sure haven't heard that before. "Ha ha, sure you wanna be a singer Tori, stand up might be better for you."
"Yeah yeah, later West." She starts walking towards the door, and I am losing control inside, cause I never got to tell her anything that I really wanted to, and what I got out was dismissed as bullshit. She then stops right before the divider and turns back to me.
"You know, I remember you saying that you never tried to hurt me in such a way as I have done to you today."
"Yeah, I remember." Her voice then drops and her eyes narrow at me.
"You do know, that you almost killed me before, right?"
Confusion hits my face, hard. I really don't know what she's talking about. I would never, in all my conflicts with her, ever try to actually kill her, I could never...even think to…"

My eyes widened as she spoke, my little brother gets anaphylaxis reactions from shellfish, and I found out in a horrible way a few years ago when me, my brother Jason and my parents went to a party, he happened to grab a shrimp off of a table in the kitchen…It happened so fast tried to get to him as quick as I could…it hit him quickly, we had to rush him to the hospital. He almost died that day, I remember crying all night….
"Do you know what happens to someone who goes into anaphylactic shock, Jade?"
"Yes, I do"
"Please, tell me"
"Ummm, it usually depends on what the allergic reaction is to, but itchy rashes, eyes closing up, throat swelling, low blood pressure, among other things…..and in some cases-"
"Death, which is what could have happened if I had smelled them long enough before Trina shouted out what they were. I usually keep an Epi Pen in my bag, but I was rushing out the door that day, and I forgot it."
A gasp leaves my throat at her words, I truly didn't know it would do that to her, I..I just figured she would sneeze a lot, dammit. "I'm so so sorry Tori, I really didn't know, I swear!"
"I guess when you were snooping around my room that day, going through medical files, you didn't bother to read the entire page that showed my allergy, or, maybe you did and just didn't give a damn what would happe-"
NO! Tori, if I had known that was the kind of reaction you had, I would have never played that type of prank on you, Ok? Never! I know what that does, and despite what you think of me, I would NEVER do that to you!" I kinda lost it and both Cat and Tori stepped back at my outburst. I was hurt that she would think I would actually try and kill her, I was hurt at the thought of her suffering the same way I saw my brother suffer that day, and I was angry at my own stupidity.
I didn't notice the tears until I felt Cat's fingers wiping them away. "It's ok Jadey, its ok." I only told Cat and Beck what happened to Jason, so she knew what was going through my head right now.
"Ok, I believe you Jade, doesn't excuse it, but, I guess it doesn't matter now, does it." Tori said as she began to walk away, but I stepped forward and grabbed her wrist to stop her. "No, it does matter to me Tori, what I did was idiotic." Bravery jumped back into me like a possession at that moment and I placed both my hands behind Tori's head, bringing our faces close.
"You don't have the slightest idea, what it would do to me, if you died, if I had something to do with you dying, or being severely hurt." I whispered to her, my lips only inches away from her own, yet again, kissing her would be so easy.
"What does that mean, Jade?"
It's now or never, anything I ever wanted in my life I went after it, or am still going after. Why should Tori be any different? "What it means, Tori, is that I don't hate you, I never hated you, I just had difficulties processing how I really felt…how I really feel about you. The truth is, I like you Tori, and I like you a lot."
Her eyes widened a bit. "You like me? Really? Huh…" Her eyes then look to Cat. "Hey Cat, Jade likes you too, did she torture you for months and months also?"
"Well, not really, but she was a hard shell to crack in the beginning, she did push me off the swing once when we were little, hurt my elbow." She cried for a while that day, and I held her, rocking her back and forth. She didn't tell the teacher on me, even sat with me and gave me her chocolate pudding cup the next day, that's when she became my best friend.
"How long have you two known each other, Cat?"
"Over 10 years."
She then looks back to me. "10 years, and only a scraped elbow, wow I must be special then Jade, you can't tell me you like me more than Cat, cause if we measured how you like people by how maliciously you treat them, you and I would be practically Carly and Sam. She then begins to laugh. I smirked at her comment, I then moved my hands from behind her head down her back, stopping at her lower back, her shirt rides up a bit so I was touching skin, and I stared stroking my fingertips across her skin, god, I'm so close to her ass I just wanna grab a handful. Her laughing stops when she feels me touching her skin.
"Jade, what are you doi-" I don't let her finish cause I pull her closer to me. She lets out a little gasp/moan which is music to my ears. Our bodies are now touching, and she is so warm, my heart is beating so damn fast I feel it may pop out of my chest. I link my hands together behind her back, she wants to get away, she's gonna have to beat me away.
"Jade?"
The thought pops up in my head again that she may not even like girls, that I could be making a gigantic mistake trying to confess feelings and kiss a girl who is completely straight, I have had no reason to think she would like lady parts, let alone mine, and with all this swirling around in my head, I can't stop what I'm doing.
"I think you misunderstood me when I said I liked you, Tori. I like Cat, sure, but as a best friend, or a sister."
"Do it, do it, do it." I hear Cat whisper cheer behind me.
"Then w-what d-do you mean?"
I put on my best smoky sex voice, ready to confess to her what she means to me. "What I meant, Victoria, is that I REALLY like you, as in I wanna kis-"

"Dammit all to hell!" I calm down and release Tori and smile at her. "Could you excuse me, just one second?" I pull out my phone and walk towards the window. "Beck you ass clown, what the hell do you want, what, What, WHAT!?" Cat comes closer and puts her ears next to mine to hear the conversation.
"Whoa now, whats with all the hostility, am I interrupting something?"
"Yes you are, Beck!"
"Did you talk to Tori, or did you chicken out?"
"No I didn't 'chicken out'. It's ongoing"
"What does that mean?"
"Dammit, it means it's happening now!"
"Ohhhh, ok. You keep that attitude in check?"
"Why, looking for your 50 bucks from Cat?!"
"…Um, I don't know...what you're talking about?"
"Save it Beckett! Cat sang like a canary, I'm kicking both your asses." Cat let out a little squeak. I look her in the eyes. "What? You thought I'd forget? No!"
"Sorry Jade, we didn't mean anything by it, just friendly wager."
"Oh yea, but it won't end so friendly with my boot in your respective asses. If you got anything else to say, speak now and hurry up."
"Um, no, I'll let you go, Sorry again"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah" I then hang up the phone, "Idiot." Now that that's over, I can get back to Tori.
"Um, sorry about that Tori, now, where were we."
As I turned around, I saw nothing. "Tori?" I checked the stalls, nothing. I ran out into the hall and looked in both directions. "TORI?!" Nothing….she just left. I got angry, really fucking angry, and my fist collided with one of the lockers in the hall, once, twice, three times. I heard the bathroom door open behind me. Then I got sad, really fucking sad. "I was so close Cat, so dam close I could practically taste her lips, so close to telling her…."
"I'm sorry Jade, please don't be sad" I felt her rubbing my back, trying to sooth me. To think after all this time, I finally get the strength to act on what I felt, and the chance gets snatched out of my hands. That thought gets me angry again, really, really fucking angry. Beck "Cat, do you remember what I did to you when you took away my eyebrows?" I feel her stop rubbing my back and hear her step away from me.
"Uhhhh, yeah, you shaved my head." I turn around to look at her, and I smile my sadistic smile. "Noo! Please don't Jade, I didn't do anything! It took me two months to get my hair back to what it was, I had to wear a wig!" Ohh, I remember that fondly.
I run down the hallway, down the stairs back to the first floor to my locker. "Jade, what are you doing?" She gets down here just as I get what I was looking for. She sees the clippers in my hand and keeps back, but she's not my target this time.
"Well, I think a certain asshole needs to be taught a lesson."
Ok, I know last time I posted I said that this chapter wouldn't take more than two months...clearly it did. *Hangs head in shame* I mean it this time, the next chapter would even take half as long as this did.
