Chapter 3

Kenny made his way up the creaky wooden stairs, letting his mind wander as he retreated up to his room, how many rooms have been claimed by now? He paused mid step, a loud frantic voice dividing his attention, he peaked over the top floor, peeking in between the wooden bars of the railing, there in the distance of the opposing room, he could just about make out two shadowy figures.

"It was an accident!"

"They say he fell"

Fell?! Could they be talking about THAT!

Kenny dared to pull himself closer but did not risk taking another step, should the creaky steps disturb the two figures he would loose his first lead. Instead, he grabbed onto the wooden pools holding up the balcony and pulled himself up, he bit his lip as he struggled to pull himself high enough in order to get a better view.

"What was he even doing up there" The voice was certainly feminine, he couldn't put his finger on who's voice it was and the figure was facing away from him all he could see was the black boots sitting in the corner of the room.

"Maybe he jumped" The other voice was unrecognizable as well but a lot louder, Kenny noted how panicked they sounded. The door was only slightly open and whoever was speaking was not in his line of sight.

"You mean like committed suicide?" the softer voice said. "No, he was pushed"

"How do you?"

"Aye!" startled by the new voice, Kenny felt his grip loosen as he suddenly fell back and hit the wall behind him. Luckily, he didn't hit anything to hard as there was someone there to cushion the blow. "What the hell are you doing?" the neatly dressed man had caught hold of Kenny, he glared at him as he held him in his arms.

Kenny ignored the mans words as he broke out of his grip and rushed up the steps, he ran to where the two unknown figures had been talking. The door had been slammed shut, he stopped and raised his fist to knock on the door only to have someone grab his wrist from behind.

"Hey, I was talking to you" He bit his lip, a tight grip around his wrist making him wince in pain. He looked to the man holding him so roughly, with a threatening glare he squeezed harder as he yanked him away from the door, his body falling onto the taller mans chest. "Answer me! what the hell were you doing lurking about on the stairs?"

Kenny struggled to free himself from Cartman's grip as he pushed himself of him. He let a small smirk spread across his face as he began to explain his actions. "I heard something interesting coming from this room and decided to investigate"

"You mean snoop" Cartman accused, with a suspicious frown. Eyeing him down, he let go Kenny and pushed him aside, roughly knocking on the door. "Open up!" he yelled, Kenny watched from behind him as he rubbed his wrist.

The door creaked open and standing in the door way was an attractive red haired lady holding a light blue towel above her chest. Her long dark red hair was all over the place as she gently brushed it out of her face. Kenny tried hard not to stare at her huge bust as he forced his gaze up to her face, he bit his lip after seeing the smudged lipstick. He had been in way to many one night stands not to recognize this familiar face when he saw it.

"Sorry, I've just come out of the shower, so if you excuse me" She said, then shut the door.

Shower? Kenny kept a straight face as he quickly looked her over once more, this time keeping his perverted thoughts locked away. She isn't wet. He knew that she was lying, which meant she had something to hide, so he had to get inside, unfortunately he couldn't just burst into some undressed girls room. He would defiantly get a bad reputation for that.

He was prepared to let the issue go for now, he knew this was going to take a lot of patience and a lot of time. However, Cartman didn't seem intent on dropping the issue as he shoved his foot in the door way, stopping it from shutting. "Move your fat foot out of my way, Cartman!" she ordered, glaring at him. He only smiled as he pushed the door open wider, Kenny could tell that she was struggling to fight him of and felt conflicted on who's side he should be on.

"A shower huh, then how come your obviously bone dry" Cartman said, shocking the two of them.

"I obviously meant that I'm going to get into the shower dumb ass" she snapped.

Is that really true, I guess she could have meant that.

"Really, then if that's true, why don't you just let me in already" Cartman grinned, as he attempted to force himself inside.

Okay that dose it! I can't stand by and let Cartman break into a girls room, even if she's not telling the full truth.

Kenny reached out to grab Cartmans shoulder and pull him away but stopped when he heard something shocking. "Dumb ass! I'm not going to open the door while your friend is there, even if you are my husband and besides you're the one that told me not to bother you!" She yelled, then finally slammed the door shut. He retracted his hand back just as Cartman was quick enough to pull his foot away.

Husband!? Cartmans married?!

Kenny looked over to Cartman as he stood there defeated, staring down at the floor, his shoulders slumped down to the side. "Sigh, I need a drink"

Kenny led Cartman outside, they existed through the side door and headed straight to a small outside, avoiding the balcony. Kenny approached the small Shed in the corner of the garden and held the yellow wooden door open for the larger man as he looked around outside. There were quite a few people outside, more than he expected, a small group gathered around the hot tub, most likely waiting for it to fill up, while another couple were examine the glass dome surrounding them.

"Hey get your ass in here!" Cartman yelled, from inside the shed.

Kenny let out a small sigh as he turned around, shutting the door behind him as he entered the dimly lit shed. It was a cramp shed but the dim lighting gave of a warm cozy feeling, candles on the table and a battery powered lamp in the corner. The main purpose of the shed was the handmade bar contained inside, Kenny ignored Cartmans impatience comments as he made his way around the back of the bar. A long brown table separated him from Cartman as he pulled out a flask from his pocket and begun pouring his friend a drink. Cartman eyed the silver flask curiously, he picked it up only to have Kenny snatch it from almost immediately.

"That's not for you!" he snapped.

Cartman grit his teeth but ignored his rudeness as he pulled out a small cardboard box, and flicked out a thin white stick. "You smoke" he asked, offering one to the would be bartender.

Kenny bit his lip, he knew Cartman was one to be cautious of but at the same time what would be the harm in taking part in his hospitality. He accepted the cigarette, placing it in front of the candle and then taking in a deep puff, he couldn't help feeling more relaxed after that. Cartman looked at him, with a small smirk as he picked up his drink with his spare hand. "So then, what's your name?"

"Ke-" he stopped, as his mind began to ponder. Perhaps, telling Cartman the truth wasn't the best idea, so far everyone he had talked to had acted a little suspicious of him. If someone like Craig and Heidi who he barely knew that well were going to continue to suspect him. Then Cartman, his supposed best friend would definitely have his suspicions. "Kevin, my names Kevin Stoley" he answered.

Cartman arched his eyebrows in thought as he chugged back the beer, wiping the foam from his lips, and then slamming his fist down against the table. "Ha! The Star Trek geek! Longtime no see!" Cartman laughed, seeming to have brought the lie.

"Y-Yeah, say I heard that you have a company or something now"

Cartman, put his glass down and extinguished the remaining cigarette out on the table "So your curious"? Cartman asked, with a harsh glare, he nodded as a sinister grin grew across his face "Then lets play a game"

"A game? What are you talking about?" he asked, taking another puff of his cigarette.

"It's simple, I've played this game many times before, we each take it in turns telling each other 3 things about our selves that the other one dosen't know. However here's the catch, you can tell your opponent 3 truths if you wish or you can tell them all lies." Cartman explained.

"By that merit, I'm guessing you can also tell them 2 lies and 1 truth or the other way around?" Kenny asked, sounding more confident of the rules.

"Correct, the winner is decided by the whoever can deduct the truth, at least that's how the kids play it" Cartman snickered as he clasped his fingers together.

"W-What do you mean" Kenny questioned as he became aware of Cartmans sudden growth in confidence.

"The true way to play this game is to not only figure out which statement is the truth but the lies as well and once you've done that you can figure out what the lies mean"

What is he talking about and what's with that look

Cartman straightened himself out as he sent a reassuring, friendly smile at Kenny "Well then, you game"

I guess I have no choice, still though, a game of lies and truths against someone skilled at lying like Cartman. I'm not sure I'll be able to win this.

"Sense this is your first time playing you can go first" Cartman said, with a gentle kind tone.

"A-Are you sure?"

This is unlike him, if he's letting me go first it must be for a reason.

He nodded in reply and Kenny swallowed his nerves, he closed his eyes as he thought about his past, what information could he disclose. Should he even tell Cartman anything, maybe it would just be best to lie but…

"I'm happily married and have a child" Kenny said, with a proud smile.

"Hmph, I remember what that was like" Cartman sulked under his breath.

Kenny ignored him and continued on "I live in South Park"

"Really, I couldn't get out of this shit hole fast enough" Cartman muttered

Kenny paused, considering what to say next until finally, in a grave emotionless voice he spoke "I've watched someone die" Cartman didn't react as he continued to stir his finger around the edge of his glass. A small smile, crept across his face as he whispered in a low gruff voice "My turn"

Kenny waited for him to start as he sat up straight, they locked eyes with each other, both of them silently peering into the others mind. "If I recall, you wished to know about my company, well Cartman Enterprises is a large international business that runs global. We specialize in online entertainment, after the fall of YouTube, ViewBox was a huge hit, allowing everyone to crossover for a small price, and now we are so much more than when we started."

Online. That explains why I've never heard of them, the world these days is pretty much run by the net, it was hell finding this place. Most houses or buildings in general come with a built in Alexa, it's why I don't ever want to move out of my apartment.

The sound of glass shattering was enough to snap Kenny back to reality, he looked to Cartman who had blood running down his hand. The beer glass is now in dozens of tiny pieces scattered across the table and floor "What the hell happened" is what he wanted to say but the darkness in Cartmans gaze was enough to warn him of.

"I hope it's not true" he started of as he slowly pulled another cigarette out of his pocket. "but… I think my wife may be cheating on me" His voice filled with anger and sadness, he moved to light the cigarette but stopped when he saw he realized he was shacking.

Is he okay?

Kenny stood there in silence unsure wherever he should say something or leave him be, after a few minutes of awkward silence pass. Kenny picked up the cigarette Cartman had dropped and placed it in his hand. Cartman pulled away almost instantly and then stood up from the stool, he was so quick that he knocked over the stool.

Kenny unzipped his parka and used it to swipe all the glass into as he did he suddenly realized that Cartman was leaving. "Hey where are you going!" he yelled.

Cartman pulled the door open slightly and then looked back at Kenny with a smug grin "Right, the game well I've already won but as for my final statement… Theres a killer hidden among us"

Kenny just stood there unsure what to make of his words, he wasn't sure what to say but knew that if he didn't speak up Cartman would leave and he wasn't done with him yet, especially after hearing him say something like that. "What you scarred of losing that badly" Kenny said, in an attempt to taunt him into staying.

Cartman was unfazed however as he let out a loud hearty laugh as a wide toothy grin crossed over his face "HA! I already won. You were telling two truths and one lie"

What?! H-How did he know?

Kenny grit his teeth in annoyance he never cared about losing or winning or before but that smug grin across his face was enough to make his blood boil. Still he wanted him to stay right? He opened his mouth to defend himself and deny his claims but the larger man spoke over him. " No use denying it, the evidence speaks for itself"

Evidence?

Cartman stroked the edge of his chin as he continued to explain "The bags under your eyes tell me how stressed you are and that look in your eyes is all to familiar. Your acting way to friendly for it to come of natural, not to mention whenever you lie you follow it up with a drink or a puff. Therefore, I summarize you don't have a family and not only have you seen someone die but judging from the dead blank gaze in your eyes you've probably been responsible for a few deaths as well. However, you do live in South Park but there is one more thing"

Kenny was speechless, in just a few minutes Cartman had been able to pull apart his entire story and he was still clueless on wherever what he had told him about himself was true or not. He could only stand there and listen, envious of Cartmans abilities as they would prove useful tonight.

"You are not Kevin Stonely"

Kenny froze, how the hell could he possibly know that, he wanted to deny the claim but couldn't think of anything to refute his claims. Besides He couldn't possibly keep up the act for to much longer, the moment he leaves the shed the charade would end. Still there shouldn't had been anyway for Cartman to have known the truth. Unless, someone told him who he was before hand but who?

"Hmph, I know what your thinking" Cartman said, earning a heated glare from Kenny. "Know one told me who you are, I just know, but if you really want an explanation I don't mind" Cartman relished in the ecstasy of the situation, the feeling of power over someone weaker than you was unlike anything he could ever imagine . "It's simple, Kevin was one of my dear customers and I make it a priority of mine to always know what's going on with my costumers. However, the real reason I know your not Kevin is because my company helped make the arrangements for his funeral five years ago. It was a special event for a very loyal costumer, made a lot of money actually"

Kenny grit his teeth as he felt his blood boil, Only Cartman would think to profit of the dead, he had to let it go though, now was not the time for a fight. He was more angry with himself anyway, this was a foolish idea, because of his mistake Cartman has gained the upper hand and what has he got out of it? Nothing…he had nothing to show for it. "Now it's down to you to figure out if what I said was lies or truths" Cartman said. Kenny just stood there holding his head down in shame as Cartman left the shed with a small satisfied smile across his face.

Damn it!
