The sun was high in the sky, all the children of death city was walking into Death Academy dripping with sweat. Maka was walking, holding her books to her chest as she was thinking over her past month, she hadn't had too harsh a time with bullies lately. Soul had made sure of that. He had fit himself into a comfortable place with all of Maka's friend's. Especially Black*Star, who had instantly clicked with him. Tsubaki swears that if she and Black*Star didn't find each other first, Soul would have been his partner.
Maka was walking now thinking fondly of her time with Soul, as she did often. She would find herself studying what he spoke to her instead of her class notes, his face as he laughed instead of what the teacher had to say. She was becoming more and more drawn to him, and it was starting to concern her.
My soul has never felt this way about anyone before.. if he doesn't connect with me, will I be able to handle it?
She wiped her damp forehead with the back of her glove, treading on up the hill just before she reached the straight away to school. Her legs were getting tired, too early for such a work out, she thought.
Suddenly, a hand patted her shoulder, and when she turned, she saw a familiar and sickening face.
"Hellooo, miss me?" Maka stepped away from him, dropping her books and pulling her hands up in defense. Soul had been telling her to not let her fear stop her, but to let it give her strength. Her hands were balled into tight fists, held up to block any hits to her face. "Hey, woah woah, no need for those." He said, moving to push her hands down. She lowered them slowly, her eyes locked on his hand. "I'm just here to catch up, that's all."
"I don't have time for you, it's still a good walk before I make it to school, and you're doing nothing but wasting my time." Maka said dully, giving him a stern stare.
"Oh, don't be like that." He stepped closer, and Maka could feel his breath on her face. Then on her neck, as he leaned down closer to her. "I've decided I don't hate you, Maka.. In fact, I'm really interested in you." Maka stepped away from him, and she turned, now forgetting her books. She knew Soul's house was far, but she knew a rout that would easily loose this guy. She just had to find an opening before- "Have you ever been kissed before?" Her face was pulled to face him, and he was squeezing her cheeks hard in his grip. "Those lips look soft.. And those legs.. "
She pushed away hard, enough to get his hands away from her, and she took off. Her body flew to the alley she knew would open up to a twisted path across town. Her eyes burned as she heard the boy shout after her, he was chasing behind her and she knew he would catch up soon, but she didn't let that faze her.
Maka darted around the corner into the alley and she kicked up the wall, pulling herself over a fence. Her thigh caught the top if it, and it scraped her leg open enough for blood to be pouring into her boot. Don't stop, keep running, don't look back, keep running. She kept herself going as hard as she could, not realizing the boy was no longer chasing her.
Her legs ached terribly, the heat had her sweating a storm, and her breath was near impossible to catch, but she continued running regardless. The boy crashed out from a side alley way, making Maka let out a startled scream before she kicked off harder. Her body was going to give out, but she had to make it. She knew this boy wouldn't let her go if he caught her. She let herself glance back, and as she did, the toe of her boot caught the edge of a rock in the backroad she was running on, and she tripped and slammed into the dirt below her.
The boy casually walked up to her, bent down and grabbed her hair, pulling her up. "You didn't make it far, all you did was make it easier on me. Look around Maka, here between these buildings, now no one will see us."
"Screw you." Maka spat at him, trying to pull herself out from under him.
"That's the plan, babe."
