Stark Tower
Astrid's Room
23:34 ET
July 23, 2028
Astrid paced around her flat. There was no possible way she could sleep with her parents missing. Surely Tony would up a fight but Pepper? Probably not.
"Ma'am," JARVIS began, "may I suggest listening to some calming music. This seems to often relax you after a stressful day."
"NO!" Astrid barked. Then she took a deep breath. "Sorry." she muttered underneath her breath.
The door next door opened. "Shut up, Astrid." Joey shouted. "You're not the only one worried."
Astrid scowled. "Get the HELL out of my room!" she screamed.
Kelsie stormed into Astrid's room, fuming. "Could you guys keep it down? I can actually hear you from two stories down. Some of us are actually trying to sleep."
Astrid glared. "How can you sleep? Are parents are missing and you're sleeping."
Kelsie's lower lip trembled. "I know!" she sobbed, before running off.
Joey clapped his hands mockingly. "Great. Just great, Astrid. You made your 'twin' cry."
"I didn't even say anything!" Astrid snapped. "Haven't you registered the fact that Kelsie is a cry baby? She cries over every freaking thing."
"Go apologize." Joey ordered.
"You're not the boss of me." Astrid sassed. "I can do whatever I want to."
"Stark, go apologize to Kelsie." Joey glared.
"Oh," Astrid mocked. "We're on a last name basis now. What's next? You're gonna threaten me?"
Joey stepped closer to Astrid. "Maybe."
"I'm terrified, Barton." Astrid smirked. "Absolutely terrified."
"GO!" Joey yelled pointing the direction Kelsie had run.
"Maybe I don't want to go!" Astrid shouted. "Why can't you just leave me alone? Why should I care?"
Joey glared. "Because she's your best friend, Stark. Why can't you see that. she loves you like a sister. Why are you so mean to her? Why are you so mean to everyone?"
Astrid gave him a cool icy look. "Because everything is just my fault."
"Thanks a lot, Stark," Kelsie glared. "Glad you feel that way about me." Then she stormed out of the room.
Even from behind you could tell she was crying. Astrid rolled her eyes. "I'm still not apologizing."
Joey finally had it. He was sick of being nice. No one screwed with his family and got away with it.
"Astrid Pepper Stark, if you don't go apologize right now, I swear I will take SHEILD's most dangerous Top Secret Weapons and kill you with them. And I'll drag it out nice and slowly so you'll die a sad, painful, miserable death."
Astrid continued with the cocky facade. "No you won't."
"Stark, get out of the Tower." Joey ordered.
"It's mine," Astrid smirked. "You can't kick me out. I own it."
"I'll make you leave." Joey snapped.
"Fine," Astrid said, furiously. "I'll leave. Clearly you guys don't need my assistance."
"Fine." Joey stated simply.
Astrid opened the window and jumped out. Her hair billowed behind her before her entire body was encased in an armored suit just like her dad's except it was green and silver. The Arc Angel was on the move. And she was going to find her parents, with her team or without them.
