Chapter 6

"What have we got?" Gibbs asked as he walked back into the bullpen, a fresh cup of coffee in his hand.

"Abby ran the blood and found that the puddles of blood matched McGee and Castle" Tony read from the file in front of him, when he looked up he saw the almost worried look on Kate's face "But she assured me that it wasn't enough blood for them to be that seriously injured" he added, hoping to make her feel better and she gave him a small smile.

"Ziva what did you find?" Gibbs asked as he went to sit at his desk, looking at the New York cops for a moment, he'd almost forgotten that they were working with them, that it wasn't just Tim that had been kidnapped.

"Me and detective Ryan found that Mr Castle and Tim had an account on their fan site's with the same name and from their profiles it seems to be the same person" Ziva explained as Ryan put print screens of the two profiles on the plasma screens.

"I went over the security footage in Mr McGee's apartment building" Kate began as she leant against Tim's desk "We got the perfect image of the kidnapper" Kate said as Esposito put the footage on the screen and they all watched as a mid-high, skinny white women with curly black hair and big brown eyes, a baseball bat in her arms, they all watched as Tim opened the door on screen and the women began to laugh and smile, almost nervously before Tim smiled at her and after a minute she wacked Tim with the bat and continued on inside shutting the door behind her before moments later coming out and dragging Tim to the elevator and then coming back for Castle.

"If we find her, she can lead us to Castle and your agent" Kate told Gibbs, hope shining in her soft hazel eyes, "We already sent a picture to your forensic scientist to run through facial recognition" She added.

Gibbs nodded "I'm going to see Abby, Beckett your with me" he said getting up and walking off to the elevator Kate followed him closely behind and both stepped into the elevator.

After a couple of moments Gibbs flipped the switch stopping the metal box in mid-air, the lights dimmed just as Gibbs turned to her.

"Can I help you agent Gibbs?" Kate asked him, her arms crossing over her chest.

"Are you personally involved in this case?" he asked her, his blue eyes boring into her hazel.

"Excuse me?" she asked, so shocked that Gibbs was asking her this, it didn't seem to be that sort of a nosey person, but then again he was a cop.

"Are you personally involved with Mr Castle?" he asked her again, giving her his best patented glare.

"What does it matter if I am, it has nothing to do with you" Beckett glared back at the older cop, she felt like she was being interrogated and didn't like it or see why this man needed to know.

"I have a rule against it, it clouds your judgement, it won't help us find Mr Castle let alone our agent" Gibbs almost growled at her.

"I'm not on your team" Kate told him "So I don't have to play by your rules" she added before reaching round Gibbs and flipping the switch putting the elevator into action.

Gibbs moved his eyes from Kate and moving it back to the metal doors. Moments later his phone began to ring "Gibbs" he answered it "Okay send Tony the address tell him to wait for me" he said before putting the phone down, he then turned to Kate "Abby's got a match on the kidnapper" he told her.

Half an hour later Gibbs, Ziva, Tony, Esposito, Ryan and Kate arrived at the kidnapper's house, they sat outside in an unmarked van. Tony told them all what Abby had found.

"The kidnapper's name is Karla Grayson, she has an account for both McGee and Castle's fan site's under the name of GemCastle76, and has sent both authors numerous messages about meeting them for coffee or dinner and telling them how much they love them and everything they wright, she also has gone to almost all of their book signings, Karla has also been seeing a therapist for the last twenty years since hitting her head in a car bicycle accident and her personality seemed to have changed and she is known for being mentally unstable" Tony finally finished reading the print outs of his emails.

"We got in in teams "David, DiNozzo you take the front, Ryan, Esposito you take the back, Beckett your with me, we'll take the basement" Gibbs ordered as everyone put their mic's on their wrists so they could still communicate.

Minutes later everyone got out of the van, wearing their respective bullet proof vests, Kate couldn't help but feel a little sad at not seeing the vest with the words 'writer' on it but she had to believe that she soon would be with Castle again.

Tony and Ziva headed to the front door, their sigs drawn, Ryspo went around the back of the small cottage house and headed to the back door. Gibbs and Beckett took the basement doors.

Gibbs hit the lock on the basement with the butt of his gun and it broke off while Tony kicked down the front door and Esposito kicked down the back door.

The NCIS lead agent opened the basement doors and motioned for Kate to go first, she walked down the steps, her gun drawn, the basement smelt damp and was dark, full of cobwebs. Gibbs closed the doors behind him and then walked down the steps, "Door" Kate whispered motioning with her gun to a door in the corner with a beam of light under the door.

Gibbs nodded before following her up the stairs, the house was quiet, the only sound was faint footsteps from all the police in the house.

"Downstairs is clear Beckett" Ryan's voice came through the mic.

Gibbs and Beckett were right near the stairs that went up to the first floor so went up, Gibbs first. When they got to the landing Gibbs went one way and Kate went the other.

Kate opened one door and found a bathroom, there was clothes in the sink, ones she recognised from Karla in the CTV footage covered in blots of blood.

She then continued to move down the corridor, hearing a thumping she went to the next bedroom, she tried to open the door but it was locked, so she kicked it open, the door swung open with a squeak but she didn't care, not when she saw the man she loved "Castle"

Beckett ran to his side and began to untie his back "Kate I can't believe you're here, that you found me " Castle grinned at her before Kate pressed a quick kiss to his lips.

"Always" she grinned at him before turning to the other tied up man "You must be agent McGee" she smiled at him "Your team are here, they're just clearing the house" she told him. "I'm detective Kate Beckett" she added.

"It's very nice to see you" Tim almost laughed, he wanted nothing more than to see Abby and tell her how he really felt.

Kate began to untie Tim's arms when she heard the click of a gun "Don't move a muscle of I'll shoot" the brunette looked over her shoulder to find none other than Karla Grayson pointing a gun at her head.
