I got a prompt for this fic when it was Reishi's B-Day. So, it's just simply a B-Day fic for him. Oh, and of course it's ReiSaru. Mmh, try to enjoy~
A young bluet yawned and stretched his arms. Then he glanced at the clock. It was already 6PM. He clicked his tongue and turned around with his chair, and tried to find lieutenant with his eyes. He looked around for a moment until he saw her. Then, he fixed his glasses and then rose from his seat, and started to walk.
"Hey Awashima. Can I leave now? I mean, it's already pretty late.", the youngster then spoke when he was close enough to talk with her. That blonde woman, Seri Awashima, turned her gaze to the young man.
"Well, if you've already done your work and have send your reports to captain, then you can leave.", she then said. The blue haired youngster nodded and then he was ready to keep walking, but then, Seri spoke again.
"And Fushimi, try to come early tomorrow. It's captain's birthday, remember?", the blonde woman then said. Saruhiko just nodded, and then started to walk and clicked his tongue. He hadn't remembered that their captain's – their King's – birthday was tomorrow. But, why he should care anyway? Even if the other was his captain and Kind, it didn't mean that they were friends.
But somehow, as Saruhiko kept walking, he started to think about it. Maybe he should try and buy something for him. He just didn't want to be the only one who hadn't bought present for their King. Saruhiko sighed, and instead of walking home, he started to walk there where the closest store was. Maybe he could find something from there. But, to think about it, what would a perfect, adult man need in his life? And what people even buy as a birthday presents?
Saruhiko let out a groan, and stepped in when he had arrived in front of that shop. Good thing that it was still open. He started to look around, until one of the shop's workers came to him, and asked, if they could help.
"Huh? Oh. Well, uh, I'm trying to find a birthday present for my boss…", then youngster then started, and glanced at the worker. They then asked if he knew what his boss would like to have.
"I don't really know..I don't know him so well… Only thing I know is, that he likes tea.", Saruhiko then replied.
"Oh? Well, then I guess we can start with that. But knowing something personal from person that you don't know very well… Isn't it a bit strange?", the shop worker then said and let out a small chuckle as they started to walk there where teas were.
"I-it's not like that! I mean, I've seen him drink tea every day, so I just guess that he likes it..!", the blue haired youngster then said, and felt a heat on his cheeks. The shop worker just chuckled, but didn't say anything anymore. Then, Saruhiko just stared at the rack full of different species of tea. Automatically he started to look for green tea.
"..what is the finest green tea in this shop?", the youngster then asked, glancing at the shop worker. She wondered for a while, until she grabbed one tea package and gave it to the blue haired boy.
"I guess this is it.", she then said, and smiled. Saruhiko thanked her, and then they walked to the checkout.
Saruhiko let out a deep sigh as he walked out of the shop. And now, he was able to go home.
At the next day, he surely woke up pretty early. Well, earlier than normally. He had placed that tea which he had bought on his kitchen table so he won't forget it. Saruhiko took his bag, and started to put things there. Like something to eat during work, his wallet, keys and all other small things. After that he then walked out of his apartment, heading towards Scepter4's headquarters.
As he walked, he started to think, why he was ready go through all this? It was only his captain's birthday. The boy couldn't understand why he really started to care about it.
'..I just give him his present and then focus on my work…', he thought when he walked in the building. It seemed that everybody was here. Seri too.
"Ah, Fushimi. You came.", the woman then said, and smiled slightly.
"Yeah..but I really would still be at home, sleeping…", the young bluet then said. Seri was going to say something to him, but then she decided not to do it, when she saw that captain was walking towards them. Automatically Seri, Saruhiko, Akiyama and all others formed a line, and saluted to their King.
"Ah, it's wonderful to see you all here, even if it is so early. But maybe there is a reason why you all are here, hmm?", their captain, Reishi Munakata, then spoke.
"We all are here to wish you happy birthday, captain Munakata.", Seri then started. Reishi looked at her, and smiled.
"Well, that's pretty nice. So, it is ok to guess that you all have something to give to me?", captain then said. After that, Seri and all others nodded, Saruhiko too.
They started to give their presents to their King. Most of those were – of course – green tea. Saruhiko sighed when it was his turn to give his present. The youth started to dig his bag, but he couldn't find the present. He glanced at his captain.
"I… Uh, I'll..give it to you after work, ok?", Saruhiko then said, and let out a small, nervous laughter. Reishi stared at the younger male for a moment, and then smiled.
"Oh? Well, I wonder what kind of present it will be…", the King then laughed. Then, others kept giving their presents to their captain. Saruhiko sighed and scratched his neck. Then, he opened his bag again. The tea package really wasn't there. And he wouldn't be able to sneak out to fetch it since somebody could see him.
'Fuck this shit. But now, I really need to think what to give him after the work… Or then, I'm not going to give him anything.', the bluet thought, and sighed. Maybe he would just do his work, and then go home. Yeah, that sounded like a good plan.
Saruhiko had his job done pretty early. But, he didn't want to leave yet. He even tried to ask from Seri if she had something for him to do.
"Fushimi? Did you hit your head or something? But unfortunately, I don't have anything in mind… Maybe you could go and ask from captain? And did you give him his present already?", that blonde woman then said, and tilted her head a little.
Saruhiko froze. Captain's birthday present. He had already forgot it.
"Oh, yeah… Well, I guess that I go and ask from him.", the young bluet then said, and sighed. Then he turned around and started to walk towards his King's office.
The boy arrived at his captain's door, and then knocked it slightly. After few seconds, he heard steps from the room, and then the door opened.
"Ah, Fushimi. Nice to see you.", the King said, and smiled. Saruhiko just stared at the older man, and tried to smile.
"Yeah, hi.", he then said.
"What brings you here? Did you come here to give me my present?", Reishi then asked, letting out a small chuckle.
"Umh, yeah… Well, about that…", the younger one then started, letting out a nervous laughter.
"..I..forgot it.", Saruhiko then sighed, and glanced at his King. The older man stared at him for a moment, and then smiled slightly.
"Did you even try find anything for me?"
"Well, yes, but… To think about, what I could find for a perfect person, who already has everything what they want? Nothing, I guess…"
"Well, Fushimi, there is one thing that I'm still missing."
"..really? What is it?"
"It's something that you can't buy with money. It's something that you need to find by yourself and then wait that it will come to you."
Saruhiko stared at his captain. Did the King hit his head or something? The younger one clicked his tongue.
"Yeah, sure. Well then, have you already found it?", he then asked from Reishi. The older one stared at him for a moment, and then smiled as he grabbed Saruhiko's collar and pulled him inside the room, and closed the door, pressing the younger one against it.
"What the fuck you're doing?!", the bluet barked, as he felt his back against the door.
"I'm pretty sure that I've found what I've been looking for…", Reishi then said, leaning a bit closer the younger one.
"So what it is, then?", Saruhiko grunted and tried to get away from his captain's grip. The older man just chuckled, and leaned a bit closer.
"It's something that I love. Something—no, someone, who is very precious to me. My favorite.", the King then said. When Saruhiko heard other's last words, he froze. Favorite? He knew that there was only one person who was captain's favorite. And that was he. The younger one just stared at the older man.
"Wha-what?", he then said in a confusion.
"It's you, Fushimi. You're the only one I love.", Reishi then whispered into boy's ear, making Saruhiko shiver. The young bluet just stood there, still staring at the older man. He didn't really know how to react. Reishi then pulled Saruhiko into his embrace, and pressed his face against younger's neck, inhaling his sweet, perfect scent.
"..captain…", Saruhiko then started. Reishi then glanced at him, and saw tears in boy's eyes.
"What is it, Fushimi?", he then asked gently. The younger one then just shook his head, smiling slightly, and wrapped his arms around the older man. The King stared at him for a moment, and then he grabbed boy's chin gently.
"..can I kiss you?", Reishi then asked from him. The other then just nodded, and after that the King pressed their lips together. Saruhiko then closed his eyes, and just stood there, hugging his captain. After a moment the older one then broke their kiss, and then rubbed boy's cheek gently, and smiled. The younger one stared at his captain, and then he let out a small chuckle.
"..can I call you by your first name?", he then asked from his King, tilting his head a little.
"Hmm… Well, I guess so. But only if I can call you by your first name too.", Reishi then replied to him.
"Well, I think that it is ok. So… Happy birthday, Reishi.", Saruhiko then said, and smiled.
"Thank you very much, Saruhiko."
